Absolutely amazing experience. My daughter is a high achieving student, but due to staff inconsistency at her school, her grades were beginning to drop. We were so, so lucky to have Hayfa to see her through her GCSEs. Hayfa was professional, empathetic and would do anything to help. They developed such a fantastic relationship and Hayfa soon knew how to get the best out of my daughter. She challenged her thinking and pushed her (academically) beyond what she was getting at school. The result? My daughter has just achieved a GCSE 8 in English Literature and Language.
We found an amazing tutor of maths and chemistry ! Young and professional, easy to communicate and made a big difference to my son progress with maths. Highly recommend!
My son is very happy with his tutor Amnol
My daughter had a tutor for each subject, Gracie, Romana and Harvey, they were the most supportive, patient and determined tutors, working with my daughters strengths and weaknesses to get here where she needed to be, she got her fist choice of Uni and is now off to study Philosophy
Sophiana is a fabulous maths tutor to my daughter, she has not only improved her grades, the main aim and moved up a set, she understands the subject much better Sophiana took time to understand the areas of difficulty for Ruby and explained things very very well. Maths is no longer a subject ruby dreads to do!
Our son’s tutor was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable in the subject area and had great teaching skills too. He set good amounts of homework to ensure new topics were being practised regularly. Our son made very good progress with the support of his tutor.
We would like to nominate Joseph B. as he has helped our daughter to keep up & maintain her place in the top-set in Maths GCSE’s where she was finding it difficult to fully understand certain aspects.
I give Jon 5 stars and nominate him for an award but I note that I am also giving MyTutor 5 stars on this review. Firstly Jon…he definitely deserves 5 ⭐️ He tutored my son in Maths and Physics A level and my son got A* in both! Jon is knowledgeable, reliable and my teenage son really got on with him. Jon was always responsive to my messages and gave my son a much needed confidence boost as well. Highly recommend Jon! I would give MyTutor 4 stars. I have my reservations about their charges which continue to increase and I understand that only a fraction of this goes to the tutor. It is cheeky that MyTutor has asked clients to nominate their tutor for an award by posting a general MyTutor review on Trustpilot as if you are nominating your tutor you will give 5 stars for your tutor but that does not mean you would give MyTutor as a company 5 stars! This is a bit underhand IMO.
My daughter has got the GCSEs she needed for college! I really feel this has been due to the support and excellent tuition she received from Maddy at My Tutor! Maddy was perfect for Alana and they worked together brilliantly. Maddy quickly identified Alana's gaps in learning and made sure she covered everything. She also made sure Alana was secure in what she had learned. Alana is quite shy but she felt she could ask Maddy when she didn't understand. I cannot thank Maddy enough and will ask for her support in future if required. Thank you Maddy!!!! 😊
Really easy to use the booking system, my sons tutor has really helped his confidence and good value for money
Holly is a fantastic tutor who prepares well. She is very informative and lovely at the same time.
Tutor - Jodie S. GCSE level Maths I have gained a lot more confidence in both maths and in myself since having tutor sessions with Jodie. I remember during my first tutor session I was extremely nervous and felt embarrassed whenever I spoke, but Jodie made it a lot easier for me, within three sessions I already found it much easier to talk to her and answer questions with some confidence. Jodie has helped me so much she is an amazing tutor and I think she deserves some recognition.
Great for parents, awful for tutors. Recent price changes ensure that hard-working long-term tutors are being hugely undervalued and new tutors pricing themselves at the lowest band are working below minimum wage (once you factor in lesson planning, report time and extras like free meetings). As a tutor, if you set yourself at the lowest price band you take home £11.27 which is already far too low for tutoring. If you then take away 30 minutes (10 for report writing and 20 for planning) you're left with £5.63 per hour... Even if filling out the report and planning takes 15 minutes you're left with just over £8... Usually, everything in between (planning, reports, messages between parents and free meetings) takes much longer. My Tutor continues to prioritise marketing (some roles available have incomes of £60-90k a year) and hugely undervalues tutors.
Nicole has prepared my sons for science exams very well. For months she was doing pass papers exams with him as well as helping him understand the topics that he wasn’t able to grasp.
Our son was offered extra Maths help through his school. After this we were so impressed, we decided to look into getting a tutor to help in his final weeks before his GCSE'S. We liked that we got to chat with 2 excellent tutors, and that our son could choose who he liked. This gave him a feeling of control, which meant he engaged brilliantly with Manon, she was patient and explained things so clearly. Helping him structure exam answers using old papers. Our son had struggled with crippling anxiety and since Covid had only been in school about 25%. Manon gave him the essential skills and tutored him across his subjects, she did extra research on subjects she didn't know as well to help him further. We had an update after each lesson saying what he'd learned and what was planned. His GCSE results were amazing, he can now go to the college he wants, and hopefully have a new and positive experience in learning. Manon we can't thank you enough! You were simple fantastic.
The teacher is very expensive but she is really good and my son has improved so much!! At the end what you pay is what you get back. My Tutor is really very useful e has fantastic teachers but quite expensive.
Rahmat has been tutoring my daughter in maths for 18 months. Her kind, gentle but persistent approach has enabled my daughter to gain confidence in maths, which was severely lacking. She was struggling so much she became panicky and irrational about it and was around a grade 2. This began to affect her confidence in all her subjects. After working with Rahmat she slowly gained confidence and really looked forward to her lessons. Rahmat set optional homework which my daughter always chose to do as this helped her further. She went into her GCSE exams fairly confident, having previously been predicted to fail. She gained a grade 6 in maths and excellent grades in all her other subjects. I don’t think she would have done so well if she hadn’t been supported to gain confidence and competence in maths by My Tutor lessons with Rahmat.
Georgina was an excellent GCSE English tutor. My son's grades improved from a 3/4 in English language/literature in his February/March mock exams to an 8/6 in his GCSE's a few months later with one tutor session per week. His confidence improved significantly too across all subjects - we're really pleased - great tutoring!
My daughters tutor Charlie really helped to improve confidence across 3 subjects she was struggling GCSE results in those of a 5,6,6 was great!

Aug 29,2023Most of the tutors have been very good and fairly reliable. The live learning platform itself can be glitchy at times. The playback recording is a good safeguarding measure but useless for revision as very glitchy/slow speed. Would be nice if the organisation offered some loyalty incentives to regular customers but not seen so far. Overall the platform is affordable and the tutors seem enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about their subjects. And they are close enough in age to be able to deliver in a way that my teens just ‘get it’ . It has supported learning throughout the pandemic and it’s been great value for money .
