Shocking service, reported a simple issue 119 days ago and Newton have still been unable to resolve. Continuously bumping their fees up when customer service and communication remains poor.
Very helpful at sorting out any issues fast
If you're looking for service, consider an airline or telecom company instead. Newton manages the property I live in. As instructed by my letting agent, I have needed to contact Newton numerous times throughout the past six months to resolve various issues with the property's shared spaces. (Per my contract, my letting agent has no authority over the common spaces in the tenement building -- that's the responsibility of the factor and what they pay the factor to handle for them.) Newton's service on these reported issues has been abysmal. They have repeatedly lost records of the reported issues. They have claimed that issues need to be reported by multiple residents to be considered serious. They provide me with verifiably false information. They dodge my calls or hang up the phone before I'm even able to finish expressing the problem. Ultimately, the problems I have raised with them have only been resolved by escalating the issues to higher authorities, such as the Environmental Health Office (who have been very responsive and helpful!). I cannot believe they are willing to treat people like this. In my experience, Newton has treated neither my property nor the people who reside in it with respect, care, or dignity. Given this experience, I was shocked to hear about the high fees paid to Newton by the owners for this lack of service. Save yourself the fees and look elsewhere.
Excellent professional service with no fail. Very attentive Property Manager who always has the time to listen and discussed his clients’ concerns.
Entirely incompetent. Unprofessional staff in the Aberdeen office. Check your quarterly statements and ask for utility billing invoices… Look elsewhere…still waiting since the 24 February for the return of my £150 float payment. Don’t respond to emails….and continuous excuses from Justine in the Aberdeen office blaming the accounts department. Area manager Lewis Little John is a complete waste of a phone call. Take head….go elsewhere! I’d welcome a call from Newton customer relations but it would appear that they are non existent…to call yourself a professional organisation is a complete and utter joke. And I’m still waiting ……we have no issues with our new factor “Benefactor” seamless professional service that puts Newton to shame. Disgusting service!!!
Mark has been very responsive to our queries and pushes action forward. Look forward to further dealings in the future.
F##king thieves. They stole $2000 from me It's all over Facebook
Storm damage to flat floor landing door has been dealt with in a professional and timely manor. Good updates on progression
Hopeless We started off with newton a few years ago, threw everything at the property to get things done - then it wasn’t long before we were then passed to their Aberdeen office - we are in fife btw. Little acknowledgment of emails, takes ages to get Anything done if at all. Stay clear.
Mark was helpful and friendly, he listened to my issue and offered a constructive suggestion. He followed up promptly and was reassuring and pleasant on the phone and by email. Thank you!
What started as a simple enquiry, resulted in immediate remedial work being organised. Filling the gaps in the beech hedging bordering Hyndford Road and The Beeches, will enhance the entrance to our estate immeasurably. Property Manager Hayley Robertson, dealt with my enquiry professionally and courteously, keeping me up to date with progress. I am very impressed with the service received from her and Newton Property Management.
A shockingly poor service, Newton are only interested in maximising their fee income - unable to retain quality personnel, it’s a revolving door with Clients repeatedly saddled with slow, work shy, incompetents. How much effort is it to actually listen to Client voicemail or to acknowledge Client email ? We have emergency work that Newtons have not progressed for over two months. The last time we needed non routine work it was the same, endless chasing to eventually get some action. They couldn’t care less, “speak to your property manager” when raising a complaint- I would, but “never available” never phones back or reads an email. Selecting a factor? Save yourself hassle, angst and a total waste of money - go elsewhere, Newton’s are simply hopeless.
Terrible company- please avoid. Just take one look at their one star reviews (which are becoming more and more common!) and you will understand why.
Called to report an issue in my building. Call was handled by Dawn Murdoch and she was excellent. Problem taken away and she responded quickly to let me know status. Really happy with the service.
I am being kept awake by the sound of rats in my walls and ceiling, horrendous scratching so loud it sounds like they are going to fall in on top of me in my bed. It’s been like this for 3 months now and the sound is relentless and unbearable. I can’t sleep. I no longer use my living room. Newton have been beyond hopeless, they couldn’t care less. They did instruct a private pest control company to ‘deal’ with the issue but that’s all they do. As they told me…that’s their job done. They don’t supervise or advise their contractors they just spend your money on a service the council provide much better…and for free. Easy money for those they employ, contractors don’t even need to turn up or do what they are getting paid to do. Oh sorry, their pest people send Newton a report…which Newton don’t read along with half the emails sent. I’ve asked for months for the private pest control company to be removed so I can fix the problem myself for free via the council. The council obviously can’t work when the private company have their own traps out. 3 months of spending owners money but the private pest company STILL hasn’t found out how they are getting in?! £80 a visit? Unchecked! I suggested that they check the adjoining outbuildings for an entry point but “they weren’t given a key for that”. The council found one in a few seconds. Finally two weeks ago the property manager sent me an email saying the boxes had been removed (2 months after I first requested it)…nope I’m still looking at them out of the window while listening to the rats chewing, scratching and running all around me in my bed. They’ve already chewed through my kitchen light, Newton may as well give them a fob. There is more chance of someone responding to this than my Property Manager so: PLEASE CAN YOU GET THE BOXES REMOVED SO I CAN DO THE FACTORS JOB AND GET THE COUNCIL PEST CONTROL IN? Please don’t bother saying that my ‘Property Manager will be in touch’, you said that in my Google review left two months ago…I’m still waiting for his ‘I’ll get back to you fully no later than Friday’ from last year.
I can't tell you what a difference it makes when someone says "What can I do to help you?" and then actually helps you. It's too easy to say that someone goes out of their way to help, but in Michael's case it's an understatement. He has been an absolute godsend, helping me to resolve what felt like some deeply entrenched problems with my property and its surrounds. He has phoned and emailed regularly, keeping me up to date with what is happening, making me feel as though my case was a priority to the company. He is a real asset to Newton. I can't thank him enough.
Michael Mullen responded to my emails promptly and the subsequent work to repair a fence was done well and within a good timeframe, considering the bad weather we have been experiencing. This is a much better experience for me as in previous years my emails have taken a while to be picked up and responded to. I appreciate the service I have had.
A really speedy response and quick resolution to the issue which will prevent something becoming a problem. Couldn't ask for better. Very much recommended.
The property manager responded quickly, listened to my concerns and acted on them.
