Efficient service with a professional approach
Linda has been really helpful in sorting out issues with regards to a leak in the above apartment
Living in the west end of Glasgow in an area factored by Newton Property Management. The fees have gone through the roof, sudden 50% increase with a matter of two weeks notice. This has caused us to move sooner than we had initially planned. They have a lot of services that aren't required most of the time, for instance gardening every week through the winter when there is nothing to be done. We've had issues with squirrels getting into the property and they have done next to nothing to deal with this however have charged hundreds for sending someone out (we've never seen anyone on the premise investigating however and the problem persists). A large number of the people in the area have started a group chat and legal action against Newton as they are most definitely over charging and under delivering.
Since Jamie-Lee McKelvie's appointment overseeing work in properties in the G4 area, I'm so pleased that repairs are now finally underway. She came to visit this 12 apartment building block in March 2024 and was shown areas requiring urgent repair including dangerous loose carpet on stair steps on every floor, severe damage to both front & rear doors and damaged tiles on the front porch. The loose stair carpet has now been repaired and quotes received for work on the doors and porch tiles. Jamie-Lee had previously responded quickly to requests relating to dampness in several areas and soon arranged for contractors to clear the gutters and re-point brickwork. I am delighted that she has proved to be keen to listen and also act on requests from Newton Property Management clients. She has also taken time to provide feedback information on progress for each repair task. An excellent start to this appointment with Newton Property Management.
Very happy with my recent contact with Newton Property Management, my enquiry was dealt with quickly
Quick to respond to queries and questions, very helpfully and attentive. Friendly service
I recently made a mistake when getting new parking passes, I put the wrong one on my car and as a result got a ticket. 100% my fault, but I forgot there was a difference between the visitor and resident version. Mark offered to try to help when I reached out. I frankly don’t deserve the help for my silliness but Mark said he’d try anyway, thank you!
My experience with Newton property management mainly consisted of emailing or calling to record problems that have occurred within my apartment block. Any matter that I have raised has been dealt with promptly and thoroughly. Recently I had raised some issues regarding the property and we got a visit from Jamie-Lee. It was a very successful meeting. We covered a lot of issues. Jamie-Lee has since got back to us with a very concise list of what what was raised and an action plan. I was very impressed with her knowledge and understanding of everything that was raised. She was excellent, she has a lovely manner and attitude.l think our property is in good hands with Jamie-Lee.
Very pleased with the customer service I have received from this company regarding a matter I contacted them about. Kept updated throughout and response time was very quick.
Avoid this company at all costs. They only want your money and can’t even fulfil the basic services they promise. Imagine carrying out the job that you are paid to do? Never. Sick and tired of chasing them for the BARE MINIMUM.
Hayley at newton property was excellent helped me with a query. Explained how to go about the situation and procedures to follow. Doing an outstanding job. I will jot heistate if I have any further query’s in the future.
John has always responds quickly and efficiently to both emails and calls. He's also excellent in ensuring repairs are carried out quickly.
Delighted with Stef’s communication and work ethic in resolving a factoring issue for my property. Very prompt and efficient as always and a real asset to her company. Thanks again.
I have given newtons in Aberdeen 5 star 🌟 The reason for this is because one of the staff AMANDA has been brilliant . ! She sorted all my issues out regarding billing I was getting that was all wrong 😑 she explained everything why it all went wrong . I can’t give 5 star to there cleaning agency they use as they turn up in a van sit in it and blast like an outdoor hoover then off they go . That’s not a fault of newtons it’s the company they are using . I don’t mind getting charged for cleaning but expect it to be done properly not some lazy person sitting in there van . At least I had a fantastic lady on the phone amanda very very on the ball Thankyou Lesley 🙏
Note my review is a reflection of the experience I had with Newton Property Management (NPM) via many telephone calls and emails over the course of an almost 4-week period in March and April 2024. NPM are the factors for the housing estate I live in with over 100 detached properties. NPM increased the management fee by an eye-watering more than seventeen-fold increase above the UK rate of inflation (Jan 2023 to Jan 2024). NO PRIOR NOTICE of this fee increase was received. However, per NPM’s 'Written Statement of Service 2024.pdf' (hereby referred to as 'WSS') that I received more than a week later along with a fee schedule (by which point the invoice was overdue), advance notice should have been given (in section C (n) I read 'We will tell you about any increase above the rate of inflation, in writing, before we make the increase'). Follow-up emails I sent to the Property Manager for my development (Hayley Robertson) and subsequently to Melissa McGirr (after submitting a complaint) were responded to on the same day (responses to the original emails were received 7 and 6 days later respectively). Note that the WSS and fee schedule also detailed further new charges that are to be charged by NPM including a £90 (not including VAT - also to be applied) fee if I sell my (privately owned) property. I would rate my recent experience with NPM as follows: - 1 star for failing to send advance notification of the huge increase in the management fee, and the fact that the latest management fees and newly introduced other fees are so high. - 1 star for me having to telephone on 3 occasions (over 2 days) to follow up on the fee schedule when it was clear that it was not forthcoming, and subsequently spending hours composing and sending emails to NPM. - 1 star for sending me a 'red' invoice while I was awaiting a resolution to my complaint, and despite having made it clear that I was withholding the disputed, increased management fee component of the invoice (with justification). - 2.5 stars for correspondence from NPM – in telephone calls and email (in consideration of the time taken for responses to be received, need for follow-up, and the quality of responses/number of issues addressed vs overlooked). - 3 stars overall rating all things considered (rounded up from 2.5 stars which this platform does not allow me to give) - which, in the interest of transparency, is higher than the rating I originally planned to give, and is due to me receiving an email from Melissa McGirr on 3rd April 2024 that detailed some positive actions that NPM will take before my next invoice is generated (due in August 2024) and will be reflected in my next invoice.
I presume the people giving 5 stars are being paid. I cannot believe anyone can for fall for or not be aware of this corrupt business. Never were there 3 quotes for any work done instead when objections were given the work needing done suddenly didn't need done. Unfulfilled promises of lower charges, lack of response from complaints and most recently hiking up the management fee without notice or consultation. Having sold my property I'm being charged £108? What for you ask, good question because they have been unable to answer and they have not had anything to do with the sale. Money for doing absolutely nothing.
A very quick and full response that answered my query and also let me know what follow-up action was planned by the contractor.
Problem solved quickly and easily.
I own two properties factored by Newton. I have emailed recently requesting an explanation as to the huge increase in management fees……way above inflation & with little warning……57% & 74%. Since two years ago, fees have increases 85% & 219%. How is this justified particularly in this economic climate? It appears Newton are only out to line their own pockets. Be warned!

May 02,2024Very good communication Visits to developments to see first hand what needs to be improved. Jamie-Lee is very approachable and open to any suggestions. Also very quick to respond to emails. Residents are kept up to date with any changes.
