Nov 16,2024Great villas, helpful staff and a great experience all round. Oliver's have a good selection of villas in great locations. After having a wonderful holiday in Türkiye last year we've just booked apartments & villas in Florence and Sicily for next summer. They were even able to price match the villa to make the holiday even more reasonable. Thanks to Chiara for making that happen.

That said, the alternative is perfectly acceptable and was the one we might have chosen in the first place. Staff very friendly and helpful. The website is easy to navigate

Nov 06,2024Springs/ Lakeside Viewing gallery The property is nice but somewhat tired and very expensive for what it is – of which more later We booked it because we wanted 4 en-suite double bedrooms and it has that however Only one bedroom has a walk in shower Only one bedroom has hanging wardrobe space One bedroom is accessed by what can only be described as a climbing wall found in a Gym – far more than ‘steep’ It was annoying to find there was a £250 cleaning charge not included in the headline price but buried in the small print and we thought that was excessive for cleaning It was very difficult to get any heating in the main living room and I think the heating system there was not working It was also disconcerting to get a set of rules from the property management company a week before we arrived as follows : Just a few things to note ahead of your stay at The Gallery, Playhatch Road. - No access beyond the ditch/stream near the edge of the lake as this is private land - Please no candles due to the thatched roof - No charging of electric cars please - Please do not smoke inside or outside of the property - The fireplaces are not in use and are not to be used - Please ensure the BBQ and fire pits are at least 10 metres away from the barn (insurance purposes), Please do not move the fire pit, it needs to stay near to the basketball court area only due to complaints from the neighbours - Please no fishing or swimming in the lake - Please ensure all dog mess is picked up from the garden - 1 bath towel per guest is provided - No charcoal is provided for the BBQ so you will need to bring your own - Please clean the BBQ after use - Please ensure all windows are locked with the keys provided when leaving the property as well as locking and bolting all doors - We have an alarm, the code will be provided in your check in details - We have a camera for security reasons facing the driveway and the garden area, please do not unplug these - The garden is entered at guests own risk due to open waters. - No unauthorised visitors - No events or parties please - The outside areas are out of use after 11pm to keep noise levels down to respect or neighbours. If guests are found to be using the outside areas after 11pm then you will be asked to leave as we do not want complaints from the neighbours who's bedroom is close by the house. - Please be respectful with noise levels when playing music during the day, no music after 11pm inside our outside the property. - Please do not leave the fire pit unattended - If you haven't already please provide names of guests over the age of 18. - Please note we have a noise detector in the open plan dining/kitchen/living area to make sure the noise levels are acceptable to respect our neighbours. We will alert you if the noise levels rise beyond an unacceptable level. - The trampoline is to be used solely by children only and not adults, the trampoline should only be used from 9am to 9pm. We should have been made aware of these on booking – they are very intrusive – big brother is watching and listening to you !! Finally I referenced the price- on an email from the management company they confirmed we paid £2985 whereas we paid Olivers Travels £4206.25 that is an outrageous 40% markup on what they are charging to rent out the property and what is worse Olivers did nothing to add any value what so ever and referred my questions to the management company. It has certainly soured my impression of Olivers. At the price the owners charged it represented reasonable value but not at Olivers price. it appears that some Olivers properties are properties on other sites - although with a different name so worth doing some research

Oct 31,2024The villa is beautiful and extremely well equipped with everything. The villa owners have considered everything carefully and provided everything from a well stocked first aid kit, reading material and every kitchen appliance. My favourite part of the villa was the exterior space which is spacious and well thought out. The villa manager, Andreas was outstanding and responsive to all our requests including delivering forgotten items to the airport and sourcing gym equipment. We hope to return next year.

Oct 30,2024House was not up to the standards I expect of Oliver’s Travels. No blankets in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, outdoor furniture not available as advertised in listing, mildew in one bedroom, refrigerator ice machine clogged with a huge block of stale ice, etc. This was a late-in-season rental and it felt like no effort was made to get this place into presentable shape, as if no one could be bothered. Our experience dealing with the Interhome UK local agent was quite unpleasant; I did not appreciate getting phone-bombed by him with 10+ texts and calls wondering where we were, starting 3 minutes BEFORE our agreed upon meeting time at the house and continuing until we arrived 20 minutes later. Perhaps he did not understand that we were attempting to find the town and the villa as first time visitors in a foreign country and could be slightly delayed. Perhaps he should not be in this line of work. It was appalling, and so unprofessional that it made us wary of even wanting to interact with him as our local contact. I will also say that Interhome policy requires that the renter drop off the keys at their office which is 15-20 minutes away from the property. I’m not sure if this is a widespread practice for Interhome but it is pretty customer-unfriendly and something I have never experienced in 15+ years of renting vacation homes. They have these things called lockboxes; Interhome should really look into them. I think that if the Oliver’s Travels representative who initially cleared this property for listing with OT had experienced our lackluster stay, this place would never have made the cut. In closing, I should add that our experience with arranging the rental through Oliver’s Travels was as usual top-notch. But in this case the experience of actually staying at the house was anything but.
