Oct 14,2024We haven’t been on our holiday yet, but so far the booking process has been pretty pain free. I’ve had to call them once or twice, and my calls have always been answered promptly and the issue dealt with in a polite and friendly manner. Our only annoyance has been the handling of a mandatory cleaning fee. Just before booking I did see in the small print that the property comes with a €500 cleaning fee (it’s a sizeable property for a large group). Once the deposit was paid, £500 (not Euros) was then automatically added to the remaining balance. (One of my calls was to ask them to add it in Euros not Pounds, as per the documentation, which was sorted quickly, and an apology was given for the error). But if it’s a mandatory fee, why on Earth isn’t it just a part of the original price? It feels very underhand and rather ‘Ryanair’ to add it just after the booking is made. It’s not the sort of tactic I would expect from any reputable company, and in my view is something that needs to change.

Oct 11,2024This Chateau was not as represented on the website. While the grounds were beautiful many of the furnishings were old and worn. The owner and his wife lived in the residence however there was very little in the way of service. We booked for two weeks with the first week being our family which included four small children ages 4 months to 5 years. It was a very cold and rainy week with temperatures in the evening dropping to 40 degrees. The owner refused to turn on the heat and stated he turned it on the end of October. As a result we spent much of the week in a cold, damp chateau with the kids intimately getting sick. The rooms themselves were very musty and many had a peculiar odor. Many of the rooms had black mold and we purchased some cleaning solutions to try and clean up the bathrooms. There were also many flys, mosquitos and some large spiders on the rooms. During the second week we had a total of 22 adults at the Chateau. One of the beds was broken, there was blood on one of the comforters. The heat was finally turned on but only for two cycles; once in the morning and once on the evening for a few hours so we requested small space heaters in the room which provided most of the heat. The catering of the meals was acceptable for the most part but quite basic and the service was lacking from what most guests would expect. As an example Hors d' oeuvres were handed directed to guests in your hand, no plates no napkins (unless you went and found your own napkin). Be prepared to buy all of your own supplies as nothing is furnished. This included Kleenex, trash bags, laundry detergent, dish detergent just about everything other than the food you ordered. If you are looking for a Chateau that can accommodate a large group and you do not mind stained carpets, dingy and dirty bathrooms, musty rooms and minimal heat with the understanding you are pretty much on your own for everything with no staff other than to bring in catered food this chateau may be acceptable. For those seeking a cleanly, comfortable environment with a reasonable level of service and accommodation to needs that arise this is not a good choice and I would certainly not recommend this chateau to anyone.

Oct 10,2024Loved the house and the location. Plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and stunning views. The only glitch was a family of mice living in one side of the house. Did add to the country ambiance.

Oct 09,2024We just loved this villa. Perfect for our grown up family of 6. Lots of different patios to enjoy the sunshine with wonderful views across the quiet road to the sea. We loved the quirkiness of the villa and it was easy to walk everywhere locally. The weather was kind to us, and it was ideal for an early autumn break. Oliver's Travels had the best search engine for sourcing exactly what we required.

Oct 08,2024Villa overall good, pool area fantastic . Disappointing that the coffee machine wasn’t working, despite knowing that it was faulty before we arrived. The bathroom towels could do with replacing and more were needed. Finally, despite using minimal electricity (air con on overnight in 1 room) we were charged €35 extra for 1 week stay! Please be aware

Oct 05,2024First time I have had to write a review in 30 years of travel due to our experience with Oliver's travels. On arrival at the Villa it had not been cleaned and we had to arrange through the local contact to do this the next day (meanwhile I spent the first few hours of my holiday wiping surfaces thick with dust, cleaning kitchen tops, putting filthy tea towels in the washing machine. But the icing on the cake was to find out that the villa was actually rented usually at a much reduced rate through another website. I noticed in the Oliver's paperwork it said the name of the villa had been changed for security reasons (not what a family with children want to read). Seemingly this is an excellent way to prevent people from seeing the villa on other sites and being able to book a reduced rate. I have over the years obviously seen price differentials as I shop around but this was not in the £100's but the £1000's . We challenged and were told of the price promise but you only find out the alternative villa name just before you depart so clearly no opportunity to test this out. We have raised our concerns with the customer service team only to be offered money off when we book again with them... and clearly that will never be happening as don't want to be fleeced again. It is sad when you come across organisations in the travel business that operate like this but I guess first time in 30 years is a good run for us.. Avoid and go with a company that is reputable and not just a marketing agency.

Oct 02,2024Fantastic villa. Well positioned, well equipped and a stylish interior. We were an extended family group comprising grandparents, 4 adult children and one grandchild and the villa suited us well. There were ample bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets.

Oct 01,2024Just made a booking for an extended family holiday in summer 2025 with Olivers Travels and couldn't recommend more highly. It was a really easy process with excellent and friendly support from Danielle, our contact, who was super quick in answering our queries and was very flexible holding our villa for us while we went back and forth confirming dates with various family members. Also, Danielle found out for us that as previous customers we were entitled to a 5% discount which was an added bonus!

Oct 14,2024We had a lovely stay at this property. It is in a small village with a few restaurants (one very good one!) bars and bakeries and a small supermarket. The property is a perfect place to relax, it has a lovely spec with a beautiful garden and a very helpful owner. I would highly recommend it and I am sure we will return at some point.
