Aug 29,2024I had a week long stay at the property for my mother’s 70th birthday celebrations, which included myself and 18 other family members. Overall, we had a great time and made many happy memories. The property itself is superb. Lots of space and incredibly well furnished. Regardless of whether we wanted to come together or break out into our own little groups on occasion, space was never an issue. And all the amenities (pool, hot tub, table tennis, Playstation etc) meant that there was literally something for everybody, regardless of age and interest. The property is only 13 – 15 minutes’ drive into the heart of Gloucester itself as well, so location-wise, its heard to beat. The owner was always available for any questions and went out of her way a few times to provide us with some things we needed – greatly appreciated! My suggestions for improvement are small things, rather than wholesale. There is / was a slight disconnect between the owner and Oliver’s Travel’s regarding check in and check out. Also, there were also some features advertised by agent that were not actually there – again, small things really, plus some discrepancy regarding the state of some items upon our arrival and departure – again, slight things that can be and were resolved, but probably should have been flagged earlier. I think most of the confusion stems from the fact that the property is rarely let on a week’s basis and is normally used for weekends – therefore things like rubbish accumulation etc were not factored in. However, none of this should detract from the fact that I would happily use River Severn Mansion again and would recommend it to anyone.

Aug 29,2024We really enjoyed our stay at La Cigoine. It is such an authentic home set in a quintessentially French village. We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet and of course the pool which is really lovely. We found it a good base for investigating the local area and had some fun evenings in Tranche Sur Mer along with a great day cycling around Ile de Re.

Aug 29,2024The villa was truly spectacular and all that Oliver travel said it was and more. The coordinator for our stay was patient with all of my questions, and could not have been nicer in person. The staff and chef were superb, the villa was more luxurious than we anticipated. It was a memorable family 80th birthday party with bedrooms galore for everyone,

Aug 28,2024A lovely villa in the countryside. A short drive to Sarlat-la-Canéda centre which was convenient and even closer to supermarket. The pool was too cold for us. We only met the owners sister on departure but she did say that had we told her sooner she would have looked into it. I had messaged her early in our stay to report the cold pool but was told to keep the cover off during the day etc but it made no difference. Only one bedroom air conditioned not all three as I thought but fans were provided. The living room sofa is uncomfortable and needs replacing to enhance relaxing.

The villa they suggested was absolutely perfect. It provided everything we wanted & more! The guys at The Stay Residences we amazing doing every they could to make our stay perfect. Can’t wait to book another villa for 2025!

Aug 28,2024We stayed with Mas Saint Blaise which is a stunning property. Every room was immaculate and the refurbishment of this gorgeous mas with all local, natural stone and similar products was of the highest quality. The individual touches in the ceramics and other decor made this a special place to stay. 6 en-suite bedrooms was perfect for my family (some may not love the open plan bed/bath but totally fine for us) and the pool, terraces and tennis court were fabulous. Covered parking meant cars weren’t too hot during the day despite the hot weather. We really loved this property and the owners Patrick and Christine were so charming and helpful. Families with younger (messier) broods may find avoiding spillages on the beautiful floors a bit stressful! Walking up to the tiny hilltop village of Oppède Le Vieux in the afternoons was a lovely pastime, as was visiting other pretty Provençal villages. If I could I’d rate the property 5* and travel co service 4*; although the booking was super easy, my experience with the “concierge service” was a bit “computer says no”. Having booked the holiday less than 2 weeks before it started, being informed no concierge service (in this case asking for the air conditioning to be on as an optional extra) can be provided less than 2 weeks before the start date was just a bit silly and thoughtless. Fortunately the owners were super accommodating and sorted it out for us.

Aug 28,2024We travel a lot but have always stayed in hotels so looking for a longer-term rental home was a new experience. I visited a lot holiday rental sites but frustratingly, I could never really get a sense of what the property would be like to live in. Further, the listing information was often deceiving. Property photos would reveal a 2-bed/2-bath with only one bath. Or the dining area was in fact a counter with 2 chairs pulled up to it. Oliver’s Travels was different. Firstly, they had obviously done the work of narrowing down the properties listed to those of a very high standard. And our property allowed us to be in contact with the owner, who has already emailed to discuss cleaning. Our month-long stay begins April 2025 and I fully expect that the property we chose will meet all of our expectations. I’ll let you know!

Aug 28,2024Excellent company; I confidently booked a Villa after speaking in depth to one of Oliver’s Travel advisors. Not a single part of the experience disappointed us. I particularly like the non-pushy approach and friendly attitude; they make you feel comfortable taking your time and want to hear what you want from your holiday to ensure they offer you a suitable villa for your family. I will, without doubt, use Oliver’s Travels again

Aug 28,2024A pleasant stay for our two families. We made the most of our time there. Location was great (walking distance to the beach -which meant kids could go by themselves-,good bars and restaurants and a great boulangerie nearby). A close drive to Sete (a beautiful town worth visiting) and to nearby locations, including vineyards. However, although our stay was welcomed with a bottle of champagne, for the price we paid, we expected more of a wow factor and a luxury feel. The house looked much better in the pictures than in reality so we felt a bit ‘cheated’. The house was ample and comfortable for 10 people but a bit run down, not clean to the standard we are used to or would have expected and definitely did not meet our expectations. We like cooking and dining in and did not have enough serving plates, table cloths, napkins etc) Bicycles were available but old and not all work. We had limited toilet paper, washing up tablets (we were offered 3 initially but we had to insist for more). Would have expected mosquito plug in refills, beach towels and some cleaning cloths. The vacuum cleaner was so full it wasn’t effective and there were no refill bags. The finishing is very rundown and Master bedroom was inconveniently configured, door was unable to shut quietly nor locked, it is also squeaky. Unfortunately we were also unable to draw open the curtains as the house gets a lot of sun throughout the day with the east and west facing on each side and the AC was not effective at all on the ground floor. The highlight of the house was the swimming pool which the kids really enjoyed. However, we could not have dinner outside a) because the BBQ was a bit dirty and b) there was a mouse!

Aug 26,2024The booking process with Oliver's Travels was super easy and it was great to have all of the details there for us in the Traveller's portal! We had a great time a Llandegfedd Barn and would definitely return. There was plenty of space and it was so nice to be surrounded by the countryside! Our favourite thing to do was go to the nearby lake and take a walk around it, or to explore the Wye Valley and the various towns near there (Chepstow was lovely!)
