Aug 14,2024Overall it was good, but several phone calls to try and sort out the use of a pizza oven at our villa were never returned, we had to chase and eventually gave up. The description of the ‘walk to the nearest beach’ was misleading. The road was extremely busy and there was no footpath- completely unsafe for children. There also were not two sea view tavernas within 50 metres. There was no information regarding nearest doctor/hospital etc like addresses and contact numbers.The villa was amazing and the owner really helpful.

Aug 13,2024The location of the property is great with easy access to the town and local amenities. The main house was well equipped with everything we have come to expect from such villas in France. Due to our large group size we had booked both the main house and the small house. Upon arrival we found that the small house was unbearably hot with the fan in the main living area not working due to a missing remote control. Despite flagging this at the outset, this was never resolved. The bedrooms had no ventilation and the fans only circulated the very hot air. Our whole party had to sleep in the main house for the duration of the stay which included an adult on the sofa and a child on the floor. This was not how we had imagined our families being split across the property and definitely ruined what would have otherwise been a perfect holiday.

Aug 08,2024'Le Jardin Secret', was a lovely tranquil place. The house was cosy and spacious and most rooms had a beautiful scenery view. The private pool area is just a short walk away - less than a minute and once we cleaned the pool up it was lovely. The house when we arrived - I think we might have been the first guests of the season - as you could tell the house was cleaned but not recently and was quite musty, we did spend a good part of the day giving it a go over. Parking to the house is very close as indicated in the information booklet. It did say that for two-week stays bed linen would cleaned, this did not happen and we did get in touch with Oliver's Travels but no one responded to us. The balcony, just by the kitchen is lovely for a bbq, just be careful as there are a few hornets there. The surrounding area, Laurac Le Grand, offered charming towns like Bram, Castlaudry, and Mirepoix to explore, with a convenient shopping center 10 minutes away. Revel, and Carcassone are with visits, they are just a little further away. Keep in mind, a car is essential for getting around as the town itself lacks shops or restaurants, though there is an information centre. The nearest beach in Narbonne is a 1 hour 14 minute drive, but worth the trip. In Laurac Le Grand there isn't anything in the town like a cafe, small shop or bar, but there is an information centre. Overall, Le Jardin Secret provided a peaceful retreat with stunning views. Be prepared to do some light cleaning upon arrival and have a car on hand to explore the surrounding area. I do have to add that since booking and being on holiday, I have contacted Oliver's Travels numerous times and got no response to my query. Which is frustrating and they were very responsive when we were looking to book the holiday!
