Jul 31,2024We have used OT on several occasions prior and been extremely impressed with the service and attention to detail - both before and after our stays. We recently used them to book a property and maybe it was the case that the person we booked with left between booking and departing for the trip or whether their standards have just simply dropped, but there has been a marked decline in service levels and response times. Also there seems to be mixed messages too sent from both owners and OT - which makes for some confusing messages around check in/out times for instance. So just as a basic request it would be good to ensure basics like this are joined up to make travel more straightforward. We have also had issues in having a deposit returned and I have been dismayed at the response times to emails as well as broader deposit policy (I don't think 1 month is an acceptable length of time to wait for a deposit to be returned).

Jul 30,2024Firstly our travel consultant Bella Cain was very pleasant, helpful and informative! Derwent Garden Estate is a beautiful house and its facilities catered for our large group. The views are stunning! Tessa the housekeeper was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable! We would definitely stay there again!

Jul 29,2024Lovely property. Well provisioned. Property description was accurate. The accommodation was good for our family consisting of three generations. Booking and administration efficient. Annette, the housekeeper, was lovely and efficient. Breakfast was an highlight! Unfortunately the weather was not great but we were still able to enjoy the beautiful pool a couple of the days. The only downside from our perspective was the lack of information about the house and the area. All villas/chateaus that we have stayed in have had a book of information in English covering the workings and amenities of the house ie. Garbage, recycling, emergency numbers, amenities available (and where they are located), nearby restaurants, shops and markets - including days and hours of operation as well as near by points of interest. In this case, it also would have been good to know the history of the chateau. There was a box of tourist information on various points of interest - of course they were mainly in French. Unfortunately with our limited French, our ability to communicate with Annette through Google Translate could only get us so far! This meant that quite a bit of our time was spent on Google trying to find places to eat and working out what was open when. As this is a country property in a quiet area, many places are closed a lot of the time! The BBQ, bicycles, boules, etc were not discovered until our last couple of days. This is a great chateau for relaxing and enjoying the pool and the grounds, weather permitting, however, it is a bit distant (about an hour and a half) from visiting the major chateaus in the Loire if that is your purpose. It is located about half an hour from Le Mans which has more restaurants and activities. All in all, we had a great week.

Jul 29,2024I highly recommend Oliver’s Travels service and attention to detail. I had a mixup in dates for my booking, entirely my fault . On informing Aythami at Oliver’s travels she could not have been more helpful in rectifying the booking error with timely personal attention.

Jul 28,2024Loads of space and a great location. Well equipped kitchen. Most of the windows are painted shut unfortunately, which meant it was hot at night and there weren't enough showers.

Receiving confirmation of a booking is quick and communication from booking to travel is excellent. We would highly recommend using Oliver's Travels.

Jul 26,2024I booked through Oliver's Travels as they had the property we wanted to stay in. I was a bit dubious at first as they have mixed reviews, but from my personal experience, they are a solid 5 out of 5. The customer service I had (dealt with Anne) was always prompt and helpful. The property and location for our holiday was amazing. Very helpful owners who also sourced a chef for our stay so it was stress free for us. The location was absolutely beautiful.

Jul 25,2024Oliver's Travels did a great job getting us set up for the trip. The house is large and lovely but needs some attetnion from the current owners. Namely, there were no paper towels in the kitchen and toilet paper was hard to come by. The large lovely living room is great, but many of the lights don't work or theres no clear instructions on how to work them. The large unused room off the living room needs to be examined for mold as it is quite smelly in there. The weather was awesome so we spent nearly all of our time outside. There is room for improvement with the outdoor furniture. All of the cushions on the wooden furniture is ratty and stained heavily. I took pictures in case someone would like to see them. I think at nearly 8 thousand USD a week these things should be fixed. Otherwise, we loved it and the charming village it resides in.

Jul 25,2024Lovely location, not suitable for small children due to steps/rocky pathway to beach. Interior did not match up to exterior, bedroom fixtures/fittings were cheap and basic, some bedrooms lacked sone facilities such as mirrors. Aircon worked well. Poolside parasols in need of repair, outdoor seating needs new cushions.
