The villas they are offer are superb and we loved our stay, however, Oliver's customer services are nothing short of atrocious - from the moment we booked to when we travelled I couldn't get answers to my questions (even on things like mandatory permits and required cash deposits we needed to pay locally), even with repeated emails and phone calls - regardless of the beautiful properties they offer, our group of 12 have all stated an unwillingness to use them again because of this - we had a great trip (with a superb local company looking after us), but with no help from Oliver's. Bearing in mind that they cover the pricier end of the market, basic expectations would be of some form of customer service once you have booked.
My review is for the booking process with Oliver's Travels. I had been looking for a property for quite along time and came across the one I really liked. I reached out to the company with a query and it was answered really quickly (and positively) by Chiara. Such a refreshing experience and Chiara has been patient and helpful over the last couple of days with my questions. Holiday now booked and we can start planning what to do! Many thanks Chiara - you've made a big and positive impact on this booking experience, hope the holiday is just as good!
Stunning villa, beautiful view, easy to get hold of our contact with queries.
The property we stayed at was excellent. Very well equipped throughout (heated swimming pool, extensive games room, air conditioning in the bedrooms, large BBQ area, spacious reception rooms, brilliant coffee machine), with comfy beds (and well ironed sheets), clean (although some shower heads need serious descaling), quiet and private, with beautiful sunsets, and the peace of mind of having on site (discreet) caretakers. Unlike on your website, I wouldn’t really describe it as being walking distance to a village and a car is really needed to explore the area as the most attractive places are at least a 20 min drive away if you feel like leaving the chateau grounds. The on site caretaker and her husband were helpful (organised some pre arrival shopping) and friendly. Whilst the initial booking process with Oliver’s Travels was relatively straightforward, the pre-arrival process was made unnecessarily stressful by the owners’s French property manager requesting that we signed a separate French law governed contract in addition to the English law governed contract/T&Cs (comprising property specific T&Cs) we had already accepted at the time of the booking and which Oliver’s Travels had indicated were the only terms applicable to the booking. Whilst Oliver’s Travels eventually helped find a solution, this took several weeks to resolve and we didn’t feel fully supported by Oliver’s Travels in the whole process.
I have been working with Olivers Travels for over 10 years now as one of their suppliers. I am thrilled with their way of working, punctuality and communication. My favourite colleague from Olivers Travels is one of their travel concierge, Atarra. She is always there for me and our clients. Full of great ideas, very kind and friendly, responsive 24/7. With this kind of support, my job is pretty easy. I love working with her!
Anne was responsive to all our requests for our week on Sardinia. She is an excellent concierge. After our vacation week we had numerous follow-up direct calls for our security deposit that was delayed over a month. Anne personally contacted The Italian manager of deposits to encourage our deposit be expedited. Thank you Anne!
Constance was so patient with us. I gave her an impossible task but she has been so lovely. Even if it doesn’t work this time. We are committed to Oliver’s for our future bookings
We booked last minute and the concierge team were very helpful in getting everything organised. The service was friendly and the portfolio of homes is so so beautiful. I loved being able to attach other members of my party to the booking as it meant they got all the associated info for our stay at the same time as me, reducing the amount of questions I had to answer. The villa itself was beautiful, perfectly located- it really was like escaping to a slice of paradise. We had towns and markets and restaurants available but were in a quiet and secluded beauty spot. We have all reflected on how relaxed we feel after our stay. I am really pleased that we got credits from our booking which takes money off the next one we book and we will be booking with you again. What a lovely company, getting customer service spot on and properly vetted and well considered properties on their portfolio. Long May lovely holidays like this continue!
We were a party of 20 and all had a wonderful time. The property was everything and more. The owners were delightful and around to help if needed but not intrusive. The pools were great - the views stunning -and the grounds were beautifully kept by the owner. It was truly an exceptional place to visit and would thoroughly recommend it for families to all be together- but still have space as well. Many happy memories had by all - would love to repeat again.
Oliver’s Travels: easy booking, regular updates, excellent service Torre la marmora: incredible ‘villa’ doesn’t cover it. Clearly several centuries old , visited by Popes and royalty in the past. Huge rooms, grand high ceilings at least 5m high upstairs, kitchen has the original olive press and grind stone . Gardens idyllic , orange trees laden with fruit throughout, lovely pool, and seating area outside perfect. BBQ and hammocks💓. Views from the villa are of beautiful countryside. Otricoli is a delightful, old village, lots of history. gelateria delicious, great butchers, grocers and small weekly market. Il forno is the bakery, go early for best bread. Teeny, twisty cobbled streets, slow pace of life. Friendly. There is a large outdoor municipal pool 1.5k outside: we didn’t go but empty when we ran past it. Perfect distance from Rome: 1hr 10min easy driving. Otricoli streets are super narrow: beware if your car is wide and park near villa (<2 mins walk is a free car park)
The villa was superb, with plenty of room for 10 of us not to be on top of each other when wanted. Everything was maintained to the highest standard. The local staff were super especially Patricia, who did her utmost to ensure we were looked after. We would certainly use Oliver’s villas again. From booking to travelling the guidance was excellent. It was a wonderful holiday for us all.
Very easy to book with, no issues
The professional, friendly and timely communication is unsurpassed and makes the searching, confirmation and booking processes so much less stressful. We have booked through Oliver’s at least 3 times now and on each occasion we have been impressed with the service. We are a group that comes together from around the world and meet up upon arrival at the Villa. It is always so fabulous and relaxing when everything runs so smoothly.
fantastic!!!
The Oliver’s experience was positive overall however a few complaints. Firstly, no credit card option to pay is a turn off and will result in lost bookings given insurance cover typically is provided by credit card companies. More importantly, some of the villa description was inaccurate. One of the primary reasons for choosing the villa was the infinity pool overlooking the sea. No mention of the building that has been built in front of it. The lamp post in front had been photoshopped out of the pictures. The wi-if was unusable. I had to work from a restaurant. The disclaimer that wi-if is dependent on local conditions is just that, a disclaimer. If it is known that the wi-if is poor it should be stated so. Otherwise the booking process was quick and efficient and overall the villa and owner were excellent
We booked a gorgeous villa in Madeira through Oliver’s Travels and were really impressed with their customer service. I sent several emails before we went and they were answered really quickly and everyone I spoke to were so helpful. The holiday was fantastic and I would not hesitate to book with them again,
The Villa and host were first rate - so high quality and clean with wine and a few gifts on arrival which was nice. Hosts met us there and were most helpful
A beautiful house with lots of interesting spots to be, right on the shore of the Douro. Climb down a short ladder and you're in the water. The property owners were lovely and friendly people with great advice about where to go and what to.
Really nice property in a good location. Very smooth process booking it and being welcomed to the property by the host.
