Great service but lacking text VM notification
I have had the service for a little over a month. The phone service seems to work reasonably well. I have 2 active lines. The fax service didn't work as easily or set up as easily as described. There are other good and easier fax services available elsewhere. Tech service is generally helpful and friendly (AND US BASED WHICH SCORES POINTS FOR ME), can be a little bit of hold time to connect but not excessive. This is a pretty good way to save some dollars,
I was using a land line for my home business. It was costing me $40+ a month and just seemed to slowly rise over time. Phone Power allowed me to dramatically drop my monthly cost while at the same time provide a menu of superior phone calling options!!
I purchased an OBiTalk adapter and signed up with Phone Power for telephone service. The process was so easy, but porting my number felt like it took forever. Once ported and activated, the service works great. The call quality is wonderful, but I think my 200mbps down and 20mbps paln with my cable company really assists with the quality. I have used the service to receive several faxes via the voice mail system, which is a very nice feature. I hvae not tried to send a fax yet, but I hope that it works and the fax can transmit. For the sake of testing, I had attempted to configure a Cicso SPA202 and for the most part it did work, but I found that I needed to power cycle the phone after it was idle overnight. I had checked with the forums and I could not find a solution. But please note, that I mainly purchased the Phone Power service to work on my OBitalk device and it does work flawless. In conclusion, I highly recommend Phone Power to anyone using the OBitalk device, it is affordable and a great value.
Customer service sucks. I could not get a feature configured, customer service was of no help. I moved to a different provider and everything worked in a few minutes. Dalon
I am six weeks into this service with no issues and saving $20.00 + per month over AT&T. I have long distance now that I didn't have with AT&T and more calling features than I know what to do with. Yep, happy so far no complaints.
Oh My Gosh! I have followed all the steps given me on line and still don't have a working phone. I choose a phone number and when I called customer service they said they couldn't see a phone number associate with my account. I choose a $15 a month packae and was charged $79 There seems to be a different department for each service, and no one can help you from a different dept., so you get the run around. I'm screaming inside!
Very good unit and really wanted it to work for me but I found out from master techs that satellite is not the same as cable for telephone systems. My advise, "Don't waste your time if you have a dish internet connection"
It was easy to setup &I use including fax. Could use a little more explanation on fax setup.
My power phone gives me the same sound quality as my previous carrier at 1/4 the cost.
I feel it has wonderful service.
My only regret is that I didn't make the switch sooner. We have spotty cellular reception at our house so we have to have an alternative to cellular. The features we get with PhonePower are amazing. I love that I can see a detailed call listing from the website, and listen to voicemail from there as well. Getting voicemails sent to me in email is another great benefit. The quality and value of PhonePower puts our old landline provider to shame.
Not had a problem yet
So far the phone service has worked great. The sound quality is great. The equipment came on time. What more can I expect?
The oice quality has been excellent.
I have better voice quality than I had with a wireline providers IP product at half the price. Add to that an app for my phone that lets me answer my ip phone on my cell phone.
I love the service, the customer service has been great, had a problem where i could not make calls out, and someone help me and had problem resolved in no time
They do not tell you that you can only have ONE phone handset. For somebody with disabilities, this is not an option when it comes to a home phone. The hold times to speak to an agent are astronomical! More than one of the agents were rude. They sent me a defective adapter ... and it took several calls and literally HOURS for the agent(s) to finally figure that out after wasting all that time. Also, they want ME to cover the cost of return shipping for a *defective* adapter!!!
I was happy to keep my number and I thought that at this point the voice over IP or VOIP would have progressed better. Calls are consistently dropped this is hard to deal with when your on the phone with a new customer trying to earn there business.
