May 15,2023I was dubious at first but asked a number of questions of Jon which put me at ease. The process in reclaiming the stamp duty was made straightforward and the information asked for was clear. The claim went in and approx 3 weeks later, I received a stamp duty refund. I would highly recommend using Jon.

Apr 21,2023I received a letter from Jon which I put aside for a day or so. It was only when I received a similar but more pushy letter from another business offering a similar service that I realised this might be genuine and I might have a case. Jon answered the phone personally, answered all my questions and I sent him over the documents he needed. A detailed report for HMRC was compiled and submitted by Jon and 3 weeks later the refund landed in my bank account. I am now asking my conveyancing solicitor why he failed to mention this exemption. Cannot recommend Jon highly enough. And on a no win no fee basis what do you have to lose.

Apr 03,2023Very good experience from all aspects, initial communication, discussion, explanations of the nuances of the MPR scheme operated by HMRC, thorough documentation supply to HMRC resulting in a successful reclaim of overpaid SDLT. Initially we were a little sceptical about the process, but operating on a No Win/Mo Fee basis takes those doubts away. Would highly recommend SDLT Experts Ltd.

Mar 16,2023In December we completed the purchase of a property with a self contained annex and paid a large amount in SDLT. We were contacted by SDLT Experts who informed us that if our annex fitted certain criteria we could have overpaid on stamp duty. We sent some of our purchase documents and photos of the annex and this week received a sizeable refund. Thank you!

Mar 15,2023The whole process from start to finish was simple, and consisted of a couple of phone calls and a few emails. We would recommend using the company if you believe you have overpaid stamp duty, especially as their fees are very competitive compared to others in the market.

Mar 14,2023I cannot recommend SDLT Experts Ltd & Jon Fitch more highly than a 5* review. My wife & I purchased a house in North Norfolk in November 2022. The house came with a self contained annexe. In connection with the annexe our solicitors thought we may have a chance of some stamp duty refund based on the Multi Dwelling rule. We decided not to pursue this as the whole 'selling & buying' process had caused so much stress. Crucially, in January we were contacted, by letter, by SDLT Experts Ltd explaining that we may have a case for stamp duty refund on our purchase. Jon Fitch then explained exactly how they found us, why they believed that we had a good case and explained the no win no fee caveat. Based on this call and the professional and expertise displayed we decided to pursue a refund claim using SDLT Experts Ltd. The whole experience lasted less than a month from filling in forms to receiving our refund back from HMRC. Its important to note that any refund is paid in full to your own bank account and you will then be invoiced by SDLT Experts for their admin fee. James & Helen, North Norfolk

Mar 02,2023We moved house last September to a property with an annex. We were contacted by Jon Fitch in January of this year with a presentation on a video card, complete with supporting material arguing the case that we had probably paid too much stamp duty and it may well be that we could claim a refund. SDLT experts made a good case that they could claim the money back on our behalf. We are cautious people and very wary of scams but after I had done a little research of my own, it did seem that what Jon was saying was accurate and legitimate, so we decided to go ahead. We had to provide some further information and photos to SDLT experts and let them take it from there. Jon Fitch and SDLT were excellent. Professional at all times and prompt with any telephone or e-mail queries, they kept us informed and updated. Yesterday, roughly 6 weeks after SDLT had initially made contact with us, the money owed to us was in our bank account. I am very grateful to SDLT and Jon Fitch. Without them we would not have even been aware that we had overpaid stamp duty and would not have had a substantial amount deposited in our account that would have taken us several years to save. I would not hesitate to recommend Jon and his team.

I sent him through all the relevant information he needed, he contacted HMRC on my behalf and I received a substantial refund less than 2 weeks later. Jun 26,2023SDLT were selected from a host of accounting practices offering their help in the recovery of my potential overpayment. Selection was based on a number of criteria: their approach was very personal, they made reference to the actual purchase price rather than the initial sale price (attention to detail) and recovering overpayments is their sole purpose in life - it was 'just another service' for all other practices.
