Mar 03,2023I am not usually one to leave reviews but I feel the need to leave this so hopefully others can see and learn from this. We purchased Audit Defense through Turbo Tax when we did our taxes. Apparently, Turbo Tax/Intuit then hires a third party company called Taxaudit to handle any of their Audits. Without getting into all of the details, the reality is that Taxaudit has “Tax Professionals” that supposedly handle your Audit. Throughout our poor experience with them, they have made nothing but mistakes & excuses. What I was taught growing up is that people make mistakes, but that when you make a mistake, you own it, correct it, apologize and then you are able to move on. As I have read the correspondence and even the replies that that this company has made, it is really sad to me as all they give are excuses but cannot own their very clear mistakes. Is it right for a Taxaudit representative to ask a client for documents and have them sent in, to then have them leave 40+ pages the paperwork/receipts sent into the government out, costing the client precious time and money? I think most people would say “No.” Pretty sure this would classify under any dictionary's definition of negligence. Is it right for the client to respond to a Taxaudit “Tax Professional” and send requested documents in before the deadline and then not hear ANYTHING for almost 4 months past the deadline? I think most people would say “no.” Even their employee said in writing it was a “Clear drop in service”...but they won't say that now in talking with the hire ups. Is it right for the Taxaudit “tax professional” to have your paperwork and not really look it over to see if there is anything else you need or is missing, but not notice this or communicate that to you? I think most people would say “no.” This company pays their employees for a job, as they should because our time is of value. Our family's time is of value too, but this company could absolutely care less about how much time we have had to waste and are still wasting due to their negligence and incompetency. Their company motto is “TaxAudit has Tax Relief Down to a Science.” I am not sure how you define “Science” but we would have been better off handling the science of this ourselves since we have had to find their mistakes and correct and do their job along the way. Please read the response that I am sure is coming from this company after this review is online. They genuinely don’t care or they would do the right thing and make this right, but they would rather make excuses. We are not out to sue them, although we clearly could, but would like for them to simply own their mistakes and make it right with us for the money and time we have lost because of THEIR mishandling of things. We are under the realization that this won’t happen though so hopefully others will read these reviews and know the truth. In an ideal world, I would be able to update/delete this post because they did the right thing, but I don’t see this happening based on how they have handled things so far.

Mar 02,2023The audit rep, Alan Pinck, was extremely helpful and patient with us. The mechanics of submitting information and documents was simple to use and there were no glitches. Most importantly, he did a very thorough job of understanding and advocating for our case, and twice sent back reports from the IRS for revisions in our favor that were accepted. We couldn't be more satisfied. I had heard people say that Audit Defense doesn't really do that much for you, and I found that to be totally untrue - they handled everything - you just have to supply them with the records.

Feb 23,2023Helped me sort out the failure of TurboTax to pickup noncovered income that was in the same asset as covered income. Then she assisted me to file an amended return, compute the additional amount owed with the late filing and expeditiously make a direct payment. Bistra’s assistance also helped me reduce a fine of almost 3k$ to less than $100. Job very well done and a huge thanks!!
