Jan 14,2024First off I've not had the helm 2 not been camping yet but I have had it up in the garden, The tent I bought is what they call a grade B , reduced price due to defects of slight second hand /ex display , the repair work is of a high standard and I am very happy with the tent , I did send an email to customer service before purchase and they replied prompt even though it was a standard reply , I am very pleased with the service and my purchase

Dec 12,2023Purchased the Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Quasar tent from the Terra Nova website as it was on sale even though I live in Australia. The process of purchasing was very stressful and unpleasant, first a glitch on the website which prevented the deduction of the VAT and the site informed me that I would be charged ~96 pounds to ship the tent to Australia. Given this glitch I organised the free shipping to a relative in UK following which I was informed by Terra Nova they can do VAT deduction if they ship to Australia. I emailed the company to try to find a better solution due to their website glitch but found myself in an even more disappointing situation: no reply to my emails and no apologies for their issue. I always consider good business to communicate with their customers to help them navigate an issue. This sadly has been far from the case here.

Dec 06,2023They’re very good. I had some small issues with their customer service, but they were minor. I’ve only camped in the garden with tent but honestly impressed. The stitching is good, the materials seem nice and sturdy and with 40D nylon I hoped they would be. Even though I haven’t tried it in a storm I have confidence that it would hold up and keep me safe.

Nov 21,2023Delivered to the Netherlands in just 5 days via DHL express. Very good quality tent ( southern cross 1 ) with plenty of space in the inner and in the porch. Seems very stable and easy to pitch; altough not yet experienced high winds.

Oct 21,2023Bought several years ago the 1 person tent Laser Photon 1 ultralight tent: the fabric quality is ok but: 1) Its single aluminium pole was VERY thin diameter for its strength purpose (and NOT DAC brand), so that after a while it broke on the upper part of its dome (without any wind), and then it broke on other parts (bad and thin diameter aluminium quality!). Afterwards replaced by myself with a proper and bigger diameter DAC aluminium pole (50 euros more!) 2) its YKK outer zip is a ridiculous n.3 size (the same size normally used for pocket trousers!): meaning that after sometime it failed, due to the normal high tension applied when closing the tent. For a good quality tent, and for the tension applied on it, it should have been at least n. 5 or n. 8 size zip (afterwards replaced by myself with a proper n.8 YKK zip: 38 euros more!). 3) same issue for its inner tent zip! For the price I payed at that time (about 350 euros!) I expected a more robust quality, even if the (easy) solution would be adding a 100 gr more. Ultralight technology must NOT necessary mean weakness, specially if you have to afford these kind of stupid problems in the middle of nowhere! If I would come back, I would definitely buy a good equivalent MSR tent! A more reliable company, and a better quality price value!

Oct 15,2023I have a pair of Extremities waterproof overmitts. Admittedly outside guarantee period but only very lightly used and the laminated palms have completely disintegrated? Reached out to Terra-Nova who say it’s because I have used them with trekking poles? I’m sorry but in this day and age mountain walking technical waterproof overmitts that are not cheap should be useable with poles. Worst excuse for poor quality I’ve ever heard. Be warned……

Oct 13,2023Southern Cross 1 Had my tent For just over a year now and used it probably about four or five times in which I have had to send it back for new peg out points. Repair wasn't great either, very untidy. Thought everything was ok now but water is ingressing on the tabs where the inner connects to the fly. Really poor quality for a tent with a retail value of £700 now reduced to £490. Not worth that imho. For this type of money you can buy much better. Very disappointed.
