Absolutely hopeless. They stopped asking for meter readings in January 2020 and used their own estimates-which actually went down month by month- until I left them in early April. The bills were a mess because of this but I knew I was still in credit. I asked them via email to repay this credit ( ringing them was a complete waste of time) but after 3 months there was no credit payment, no final bill and no communication whatsoever. Funnily enough, once I involved the Energy Ombudsman, all at once I recieved a final bill and the credit I knew I was due but it took Tonik almost 5 months! However, I am still waiting for a promised £40 "goodwill gesture". I am pleased to see the back of Tonik and my new company is a lot cheaper. Never again.
Quoted a month cost and within 3 weeks of signing up ie waited for 14 day cancellation period to end then added another 50% to the monthly amount. Account in credit ever since, now having to request a refund after closing account 3 weeks ago...Monthly meter request were random if at all. Don't even think abut using this supplier...
Very good company to deal with, they don't usually bother you with unnecessary emails.
I have an update on my previous review. After lodging a formal complaint with them and reminding them two weeks later that I would soon be able to pass it on to OFGEN they finally called me. We had a long and “frank” discussion during which I said what I really wanted to do was leave and get my money back but I didn’t trust them to do that. They have now agreed to set my direct debit for dual fuel to £6.95 a month. I’ve learn a valuable lesson, always file an official complaint. Just moaning at them makes no difference
Really easy to renew my Tonik with a great tariff
Your admin procedures need to improve. I left in Jan 20 & still receiving 2 bills a month. One with no charges & 1 with charges. Have brought this to their attention several times. Frustrating & unecessary

Tonik have been very efficient during the year I have been with them. So much so I have just renewed for a further year!
My main reason for switching to Tonik is that it appears to be making every effort to be environmentally friendly. It claims that 100% of its electricity is from renewables, and that part of its gas is also from renewables. Tonik has a good customer rating, whereas some of its cheaper competitors did not. I struck a balance that suited me. Tonik is the first supplier I have experienced which uses smart meters. I have no problem with this, but I would like a clearer statement (quarterly, half-yearly, or annually) to show my power usage so that I could try to make reductions if/when necessary. Overall, I am very happy with the service I have received over the past three years.
