Tonik Energy is a great company and I am happy to use it for my gas and electric supplier. The sole reason for losing a star is no available smart meter. I do monthly readings,on outside maters, and one is difficut to access. I am fairly elderley and struggle to do these readings, particularly in poor weather.

I have been with Tonik for a few years now and have found that they always give me the best rates and have had no problem with them at all so I would definitely recommend them

I liked Tonik when I signed up to them, but the service has gone downhill over the past few months. They are very keen to keep increasing direct debits even when you are in credit with them. They don't reply to support queries and I had to chase for 3 months to get a simple billing query resolved and received no apology. This is a pity as it's good to see a challenger company, but they need to get their customer service in order. I hope this will return to its former standard in future.

No issues at all. Easy 12 months at decent prices. If i had one small gripe it would be to hurry them up on installing/changing to smart meters so i didn't have to send in a meter reading every month.

My bills are totally wrong, I've contacted Tonik, I've raised a complaint, nobody will contact me back. I wouldn't recommend the company to anybody right now.

Really sensible website, which I massively appreciate. Team always helpful when I ring. Good rates. All in all very pleased, which is why I’ve stayed with Tonik!

Lured me in with a “free boiler service” but turned out to be only for some types of boilers. Very unwilling to dialogue about it until I escalated it to a complaint. I was just told to read the small print. Not good enough. Poor customer service.

Don’t do it!! Great to start, no problems. Tried to switch last month, blocked. They didn’t update my bill with my meter reading, last bill was 7th July! When I rang they were adamant I still owed them £278! Then when I challenged her she said oh I’ll get the billing department to contact you, can you give me another reading? Still waiting to hear back

I have been unable to supply a metre reading since May which apparently is because my contract had ended -- I wasn't told and couldn't tell from the statement. Today I have just had over £900 taken out of my account as the final statement, which is more than I have EVER paid (£1,300 in all for 1 year) I live in a tiny flat in central London, less than 10 years old, and never turn the heat on. I explained this to the person on the phone when I called and he was nothing but rude to me. I feel annoyed because I only joined with them as it was on Martin's Money Saving tips.

Whilst i am happy with the cost and the use of renewable energy i have found it totally impossible to actually talk to anyone at Tonik. I don't understand why Covid-19 means their staff can't answer their phones or respond timely to email requests. And why on earth can't anyone phone me back? The customer service has been very poor lately.

Tonik's billing is awful, they operated my account purely on estimates which were grossly inaccurate, despite being provided being provided with actuals on numerous occasions by myself and my letting agent. Their closing bill was estimated despite having received readings from the company being switched to (one of the big six) resulting in an overcharge of more than £75. They do not answer their phone. They do not answer emails. They do not respond to complaints. They are very good however at spitting out final demands with threats of debt collectors. I would certainly not recommend them.

This is the third time I've renewed with Tonik, each time they've provided the best Green Energy deal. Their customer service is great and it's easy to manage the account online.

I have a significant credit balance. I have been messaging and calling them for more than a month. I have had one call from a totally incompetent person who offered 10% of my credit balance and said that he couldn't see the records (when I could see my account on line) and he would call me back. This is outrageous!

Changed to Tonik last September, problems immediately logging in, leaving readings etc. and it's got steadily worse since! No statements available, I send readings they say "no reading supplied". Something has gone very wrong with this supplier. Last time I used Tonik it was totally fine but never again.

I've recently tried to switch to tonik (I've used them previously and they were great) and it's been fairly disastrous. They only switched the electric and not gas. Mishaps happen and in mid July they confirmed they'd resolved the situation and the full switch would be compete at the start of August. This has come and gone, as have all attempts at communication with them. I've now cancelled my DD with tonik and instructed So Energy to take back the full supply (trust me, stick with the customer service & avoid Tonik at all costs). I have a large credit built up with Tonik that I'm dreading the pain of recovering based on other reviews on here. Honestly, avoid them at all costs, I'm not sure what's happened to them but it's the worst customer service I've had in several years!

I was a happy Tonik customer for 2-3 years before things changed for the worse. It began in October 2019 when Tonik increased my payments to cover “increased usage” (which hadn’t increased) December 2019 I switched. Until then I had often been in credit and had withdrawn this a few times in the last couple of years. Now suddenly not paying them enough despite no change of address or usage. I’m with Octopus now, who are good. September 3, 9 months after switching I received an email from Tonik demanding payment of my final bill within 7 days or I would be referred to debt collectors. There had been no correspondence from them since January when they emailed to say my direct debits would no longer be taken. I logged into my old account and found a final bill dated 9th May, which I had no idea existed. Tonik hadn’t emailed to tell me I had a bill, like they used to every month. No reminders until this sudden first demand for immediate payment 9 months later in September? £90 to be magically found in less than a week to stop debt collectors, legal action, credit blacklisting, disconnection etc all threats by Tonik. Update: 3 weeks on and now 3 threatening letters from Tonik. Ignored my calls and emails and Resolver email got an automated response email with nothing further. Disinterested and eager to get rid of me when I’ve called and not done what they promised neither stopping the harassment. CAB transferred me to their escalation team who deducted £30 and apologised. But a week later I got another nasty letter. Tonik have a serious problem and the cause of it started last autumn when my bills increased a lot for no reason. Really bad unprofessional behaviour by a company I used to respect. They also estimated my gas reading even though I had submitted it. It was way higher. But I just want shot of this company. What the hell has gone wrong with them??
