The hotels were very good except that in 2 hotels my friend and I had to share a double bed when we had specifically asked for twin bedded rooms. We were told the hotels were full & they did not have a twin room. It was a pity that a number of the hotels were on the outskirts of towns and so we were not able to walk into the town but had to use taxis or tuk-tuks. The guides were very informative, polite and helpful. The coach was driven by a very careful driver. We liked the idea of sometimes having half a day for relaxing.
My wife and i have travelled with T Indus several times and generally they have given us a 5star experience. However last years trip to Rajasthan was average at best mainly coz the driver was so totally inadequate which tended to devalue the whole experience. Hence only 4stars Its unacceptable to hide behind the excuse that drivers are not guides coz thats exactly what they are and last year apart T.I's choice of extrovert, happy and experienced guides has been a very positive experience.Fobbing us off with a young man barely twenty with very very limited language skills and experience was very underwhelming. Obviously not even rigour and engagement between Ealing and Delhi. V poor and we still get to pay the same as if it was successful: poor show T.I.
We booked through Trandindus for our holiday to India and from the first phone call to enquire about the holiday to our departure from India everything ran smoothly, while in each destination visited on our holiday someone called to check everything was ok which was reassuring. Our driver and all guides used were really good and seemed a lot better than others we saw. I would highly recommend Trandindus
This was my first experience of having a trip organised by a travel company. We went to do a creative workshop in Jaipur, India and tacked on a couple of days sightseeing either side. TransIndus organised the sightseeing, travel and accommodation. It was very efficient and smooth. The accommodation was a high standard for the budget. The only thing that could have been improved was to be given the printed advice about shopping and hidden taxes on shipping halfway through the trip rather than at the beginning.
Our trip to Sri Lanka was memorable, but the guide / travel company TransIndus subcontract to there was not great and some of the hotels were not to the standard we had previously experienced with Trans Indus.
Trans Indus served me - for the most part a female travelling alone - very well. Its representatives were excellent smoothing all paths but the Tour Guide - Manu Pathak - made my short stay in Dehli and Agra nothing short of magical. I discovered that her gender brought a very different perspective to what I was experiencing and later on when I made comparisons with the male guides provided. All were good except that one, brilliant in content, but who left me to find his friends much to the concern of Palli, the driver who was more concerned about what had happened than I was. Palli was a very good driver on our long journey from Agra to Jaipur but our lack of fluency in our respective languages meant a long trip with poor communicaton. We managed but it was a pity that I couldn't gain more knowledge about Palli, his culture and his country in general as I did with your tour guides particularly Manu. English lessons could be a good investment by travel companies! I felt completely safe being driven by all of your drivers in the largely chaotic traffic conditions - how good it would be to communicate to an equally high standard especially when on a lengthy journey - such an opportunity to learn by driver and passenger alike. Your reps' were, again, excellent. A hitch - an 'allegedly' cancelled (overbooked perhaps?) internal flight taking me to my connections home was handled well - a smooth transition followed if a little late! So, Trans Indus - well done. I've fallen in love with India helped enormously by the people who looked after me. I shall return - as the man said. NC.
I changed from my previous tour provider and trying somewhere new you always worry about bit. However the tour exceeded my expectations, all that was promised and more was delivered from a great driver, good guides and some excellent heritage hotels. Should I go again I would request more of the heritage hotels, which had individual character and superb food. It was great to get away from the corporate sameness.
Wonderful company with knowledgable and friendly staff. They know their stuff, and if they don't they will find out. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.
Firstly, probably the best holiday I have ever had, it was just a great shame that my late wife couldn't witness the culture of India and its magnificent sites. The Taj Mahal is a 'pinch yourself because there it is in front of you' moment! Having arranged my own flights, I was, after long waits at both the tourist visa and currency counters at Delhi International Airport, met by a representative of your local agency. The Suryaa Hotel was impressive although my room was definitely in need of some refurbishment. My main problem was that I was on the 1st floor at the back of the hotel. Sleep was most difficult. Listening to the cacophony of horns until after midnight only to be followed by a dog that insisted on barking until dawn! Our guide Manjit was very knowledgeable about Dehli and showed us many spectacular sites and experiences. The next day our superb driver Raj took us to Agra where another representative met us on arrival at the superb ITC Mughal hotel. He assisted us in our registration and informed us of our Agra itinerary. Our guide Deepak Dan made Agra come to life. His knowledge and ability to put over all the facts made this part of the tour the most memorable. The next day he again met us at Fatephur Sikri and again bought the site to life for us with his special delivery. The ITC Mughal was a beautiful hotel in lovely grounds and a view of the Taj Mahal from its Grand Observatory. Following a visit to Chand Baori we arrived at the Lalit Hotel in Jaipur. Unfortunately no reresentative met us on arrival and no contact was made by him during my stay. I would have liked to do something on my 'day off' as the two ladies on the tour had taken Raj and the car on a shopping trip. The Lalit was a hotel of style not substance. Very impressive on arrival but as with my travelling companions, the rooms lacked any form of or maintenance supervision. My room refrigerator did not work (this was replaced) my door security chain failed to operate as did the door card electric switch. The main problem that I was in a room with no window. Why put a tourist in a windowless room? (Room 400). Our guide in Jaipur, Abishek , did his best, but unlike Deepak Dan he was difficult to understand as he spoke too fast and led all our sightseeing at a brisk pace!. He did, however respond to several requests not on our itinerary (visit to spice shop etc). The evening cultural meal was not quite what we expected in either food or entertainment. On the last day in Jaipur, my travelling companions left to view tigers whilst I returned to Delhi with Raj. The Holiday Inn at the airport was not the usual generic Holiday Inn. It was modern, bright and spotlessly clean with excellent staff. I was very grateful that my request to remain in the room until 18.00 (I had an evening flight to Dubai) had been arranged without further charge. My impressions of India. I plan to return in 2018, probably to Kerala. This was a holiday I will never ever forget. I think that the two people that made it so special were Deepak Dan our guide in Agra and our driver Raj who managed to negotiate every hazard known to man, scooter, lorry or Tuk Tuk without causing any alarm to tourists more used to the UK style of roadcraft!! I would suggest that perhaps the Jaipur 'day at leisure' day could be made on the second day and not the third, we were all pretty shattered after the previous few days, and that a representative could be on hand to suggest an additional activity on that day as alluded to in your brochure. Apart from that, TransIndus gave me a 5* experience – Thank You So Much.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Transindus for the outstanding holiday we just enjoyed in Kerala. The organisation in the UK and India was flawless, so the trip was stress free. I requested character accommodation and this was certainly delivered, in fact the quality far exceeded expectations, with special mention to Pepper County (beautiful spacious room), Tallyar Tea plantation (perfect view over the hills and a real taste of a bygone era), Ocean villas (we were upgraded and had a cool spacious room by the pool), the Secret Garden which was perfectly located and peaceful. Service was gracious and attentive, with special mention to Santos and Vivek at Tallyar. The food was good everywhere, outstanding at ocean villas and the rice barge. Our driver Niju was very skilled and informative. Alvin kept checking our satisfaction and made new arrangements when the drought meant that the planned boat trip was not feasible. The guides were all good, particularly in Periyar national park where we saw wild elephants. All in all the trip was well balanced and varied, and we really feel we would not change a thing. When you consider the quality of accommodation, the activities and guides, the service and constant support from Niju and the crew of the rice barge, we think the trip represented amazing value for money. Many thanks to all concerned, we will certainly recommend you and will come back to see what you have for Vietnam and Cambodia
Very well organised around our requirements. Adjustments made when we went through the initial programme. Wonderful workshops in Jaipur was inspirational. Our subsequent trip to Kerala was all we wanted. The rep in Cochin contacted us at each venue to check all in order.
Transindus have been marvellous. Translating our suggestions into affordable bespoke holidays.
We've travelled with TransIndus three times and would happily do so again.
TransIndus extremely helpful in arranging the bespoke tour that we required, making recommendations on different hotels and ensuring that all hotels were aware of my wife's food allergy. Staff very knowledgeable about the area. all paperwork delivered well before dates of travel. Local representative in Cochin very responsive in changing our travel arrangements when a general strike was called late one evening. This was out third holiday booked through TransIndus and we would recommend them highly.
Due to the late cancellation of a cruise with another company we turned to Transindus to find us an alternative at very short notice. This they did magnificently within a couple of hours. The trip was varied, covered important sites and included one of the limited places on a Pandaw cruise up the Mekong River. Everything worked like clockwork, the hotels were lovely and all the guides and drivers friendly and helpful. We have used Transindus many times in the past and have found their service second to none.
A one month trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos was planned with very close reference to our requirements and great care. On the ground it all went without a hitch. With hindsight we would only make a few insignificant changes. Transindus has a great store of knowledge on the Region and takes much time and trouble over its Clients. We had a great time and learnt much as well.
We recently did a trip to Laos with transIndus. From start to end we were well looked after and accompanied by guides expert in their areas of expertise. Accommodation was excellent. We will be back to explore more of the world soon.
An amazing holiday. Would recommend Transindus. Thank you Hari.
We were looking for a private trip to India. Transindus took time to understand our requirements and put together a truly individual trip that mixed the big sites with small intimate out of the way places. The trip went like clockwork....we loved it. Peter & Helen Cousins

Mar 25,2017We travelled from Kolkata to Delhi via Darjeeling, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur and Shimla over 3 weeks as a group of four. We were met at every station, taken to our hotel and guided around each city. The hotels were very good and comfortable. Staff were helpful and courteous. All were character hotels except one which was modern and not to our taste but good otherwise. The location of all of then couldn't have been better. All of our guides had good English and were knowledgeable. They were also flexible. When we wanted to learn more at any location they able to accommodate us. When we were requested not to be taken to "western" restaurants we were taken to local venues. Our drivers were good and perhaps more importantly safe. We had some expectation of what travelling by train in India could be like and were not disappointed! It is an experience to be welcomed with open eyes. We would recommend TransInus to anyone. When arranging our itinerary our requests were taken on board, advice offered and decisions made very efficiency. Our itinerary when finalised was detailed and delivered exactly as written once we arrived in India. That made our experience all the more enjoyable.
