Recently bought a lens on line from Wilkinsons Cameras and the whole process was simple, the lady I spoke to for some help was tremendous and the lens arrived securely packed just a day later. As it is being given to me for Christmas I can't comment on condition or functionality but the service from Wilkinsons was excellent.
Second time I've bought a camera from Wilkinson, though the previous one was about nine years ago. Pleased to report that the service was still excellent, and the pricing for my particular Lumix model was amongst the most competitive out there. Thanks!

I got this camera based on some good reviews, I was excited about this camera. It's sad to say that this camera is not up to the standards I thought it will be. Firstly the photo quality really disappointed me, the quality is no different from an old Samsung phone. The pictures are not sharp and looks blurry, no matter what setting I put the mode on the quality comes out the same. If your taking pictures indoors, its poor quality! Secondly, the manual doesn't really explain in depth what each mode is for and when to use it. So I had decided to return this camera based on the quality not being what I expected
On the 15 November I visited the Southport branch hoping to sell my Canon 70D.After explaining to the assistant that I was looking for a Fuji X mount lens he took the time to search Wilkinson website and found a mint condition prime lens and at the right price plus there 20% special offer. Needless to say I left the shop very happy . Would highly recommend Wilkinson cameras And a big thank you to Alex Rhodes for your advice and excellent service.
An absolutely fantastic company! Wilkinson have been around forever and they provide a fantastic service in all aspects of the trade. Wilkinson of Preston recently provided a sensor clean for my Panasonic GX8 and it was clear from the start that the gentleman at Preston was intending to provide a personal professional cleaning operation to the sensor and I had every confidence that a thorough job would be done. I am pleased to say that my expectations were exceeded. My GX8 now provides a far clearer sharper image than ever before. I am very satisfied that I opted to pay for a clean instead of purchasing a kit to do it myself. The craftsmanship and skill was brilliant. Well done! There are very few stores that offer as wide a range of products, offer personal customer care and provide excellent back up services. I would recommend Wilkinson to be any photographers first port of call. I purchased my first camera, Minolta X300 from them way back in 1989 and have regularly gone back over the years and they have never let me down. I have experienced the same consistency from all their other stores demonstrating that these guys really have their act together throughout the chain. But once again thank you for restoring life to my GX8

I can't fault Wilkinson cameras in any way. It was my biggest purchase to date for a lens so I had too make sure it was the right thing I was doing. The live chat made my life so much easier with the 101 questions I needed answering. Item turned up well packaged, no issues other than the delivery driver not knowing where I lived.
First time I have used Wilkinson Cameras, used the online chat through their website to enquire about a camera, bought the camera and arrived in the stated 3 days standard delivery. In all, a good online shopping experience.

I bought a used Canon EF 24-105MM F/4 IS USM Lens from Wilkinson's Preston store for £430.00 which was described as excellent condition. Taking it home I discovered the lens hood was cracked which they did offer to replace, but then discovered the lens mount rubber seal was damaged so I returned it for a refund. Today 21-7-2019 its back in the shop window. Any potential buyers in the Preston area beware this lens might not have been repaired. So glad I bought from mpb instead.

The staff know their stuff and go above and beyond to satisfy customers. On 2 occasions I have needed a new lens ASAP and both times one of the staff drove to other stores that had the lens in stock to get it to me next day. I would never buy a high value piece of photographic equipment online or from another store unless it's not part of their range. OUTSTANDING

Amazing customer service, they care about their customers. My son purchased a £1000 lens for a Canon 6D MKII which I bought him. I didn't know about lenses so I got him a body only kit and he bought a lens from Wilkinsons cameras after reading great reviews online. The lens turned out to be not ideal for what my son wanted to use it for, and after 3 weeks we decided to ask to exchange it, I was having a very bad day and sent quite a rude email to be honest (which i regret) Even though we were outside the refund policy date and the lens had been used once on the camera to test it, I explained the situation to wilkinsons cameras and they were extremely helpful. One of the directors personally phoned me and emailed me the following business day to ensure that we could swap the lens and find a more suitable lens for our camera. They said we could exchange it and they would refund the difference. In the end, my son decided to go for a Lumix GH5 camera instead which his friend recommended and explained it would be more suitable for his needs, and his friend already had a lens he could use with the GH5 camera. So we messaged wilkinsons cameras, and they were more than happy to let us swap the lens for the Lumix GH5, and we just had to pay the difference which was about £400. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful in store and can help you a perfect camera/lens for whatever your needs. Quality of products are spot on, prices are great, and the customer service is outstanding. Thanks wilkinsons cameras for peace of mind and will definitely be ordering again from you. You really do care about your customers.
Id give it a lower score if possible. After taking my camera lens in store to be repaired, I was made aware that the repair/assesment time would be around 2 weeks. That was 4 months ago. I have been trying to contact the store to no avail. Someone did call me in February advising that the lens would need fixing and they apologised it had taken so long for them to get back to me. 2 months later I have actively had to get in touch to see what was happening. The gentleman I spoke to didnt know what has been happening. Doesnt know where lens is but said hell contact Panasonic repair centre. I am very disapoointed in the level of service I have recieved with little to no updates. I even bought a lens from the store whilst mine was supposed to be getting repaired. I will think twice before shopping with Wilkinson Cameras again.
I prefer to use Wilkinsons as they are a local-to-me Northern company, the service is good and they use DPD for delivery so I get a timed slot. But unfortunately, unless they are running a special offer, their prices are often just a little higher than another well known mail order/on line company and, in my experience, their trade-in values are not competitive.
