I recently received an email from ZenMarket with the enticing subject line "【史上最大折扣驚喜】ZenMarket雙11運費優惠即將開跑! (Translation: "Historical Maximum Discount Surprise - ZenMarket 11.11 Shipping Promotion is about to start! Get ready to shop now!"). However, my experience with their 11.11 promotion has been far from satisfactory, and it brings to light some concerning practices. ZenMarket claimed to offer an unprecedented 80% discount on international shipping for packages exceeding 11,111 Japanese Yen, using the promo code ZEN1123. Eager to take advantage of this offer, I initiated the parcel creation process on November 7th, well in advance of the November 11th deadline. However, despite creating a package for three out of my four items three to four days ahead, my experience took an unfortunate turn. Since the package automatically added VAT, I tried removing it. My address is UK so I am not suitable to pay any parcel VAT in advance. So I changed my shipping method. Unfortunately, the website encountered a bug when attempting to pay with the original shipping method. Instead of a smooth payment, I was met with a confusing message stating, "WE NEED TO MAKE SOME CHANGES IN PARCEL DATA BEFORE PAYMENT. PLEASE WAIT," even though I have changed back to the original shipping method. Furthermore, the promotional terms and conditions presented in English and Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese were inconsistent, causing unnecessary confusion. The discrepancy between the English version suggesting package creation 4-6 days in advance and the Traditional Chinese versions recommending 3-4 days and the Simplified Chinese versions recommending 2-3 working days further complicated matters. The website's functionality appeared subpar, resembling a basic Bootstrap template. A lack of clear communication about the time required to confirm data changes during the shipping method alteration process contributed to user misunderstandings. To exacerbate the situation, the main page displayed a misleading reminder: "Attention! International shipping fee of some of your parcels is not paid yet. Please access to "Parcels" to pay fees." Despite this prompt, I found myself unable to complete the payment due to website issues. Regrettably, due to the website's inefficiency, I was unable to make the payment within the promotional period, resulting in the loss of the promised 5,000 Japanese Yen discount. Additionally, I am facing an unjustified 1,000 Japanese Yen repackaging fee due to the misleading promotion. I ended up packing the second package for 1600 yen to avoid repackaging fees. Moreover, when I told the customer service about the situation, the customer service was not responsible. The customer service just tried to use screenshots to prove that I had used their function, but that was 2 years ago. In the end, the customer service only emphasized that we did not have any delays in the packaging process. To exacerbate the situation, ZenMarket increased their service fee from 300 Japanese Yen to 500 Japanese Yen per item in 2023, while other companies maintained a 300 Japanese Yen per item fee. In conclusion, the misleading nature of the promotion, combined with a lackluster website experience and increased service fees, has left me thoroughly disappointed with ZenMarket's services. Companies should prioritize transparent and user-friendly practices to build trust and maintain customer satisfaction.
First buy done with success, pretty Quick for shipping
Good work, my friends! Excelent servises and support, thank you so much!
My fourth time ordering through ZenMarket, and the experience was was again superb: tightly and safely packed parcel, contents in perfect condition, arriving at a reasonable time. Excellent work once again.
What makes zenmarket.jp special that they can offer you whatever you want from Japan, what a deal!! Also they warn you if this seller is recommended or not and they warn you if he has got a bad reviews, not that only but they help you with any questions you have it may take a time to answer but they try thier hard not to be late, not to mention that they handle with our stuff carefully
Servizio semplice e affidabile
Fantastic service from start to finish! I was nervous as I'd never heard of Zenmarket before, and trusting anything on the internet these days is a mission in itself. I was more reassured it was legit after checking trustpilot, and using paypal for the transactions, but was still wary! So I'm happy to say it turned out to be a great experience all round. With clear instructions at every step, transparent detailed pricing for fees and postage and reliable tracking information. Our parcel arrived in good time, and it had been carefully packaged for the journey to the UK. We were able to buy hard to find, well priced parts from Yahoo Auctions, and Zenmarket made it a simple process. For the service they provide their fees are excellent. I would happily use them again.
~~contra (pro scroll below)~~ first time using Zenmarket and well... I paid them the custom fees, and they didn't communicate this to DHL. So DHL asked me to pay again, and threatened to destroy my package if I don't. Urgent message requests to Zenmarket have been left unanswered so far. ~~pro~~ very fast, well organized, payment worked fine as well. The service fee could be lower. I like how transparent the shipping fees are.
The product was packaged very well and arrived quickly. Shopping with Zen Market is great. Thanks everyone :-)
Great!! 12th successful shipment by ZenMarket! Although the package arrived damaged in Brazil and was replaced by an envelope by the Post Office, the product was perfectly intact. Delivery was also fast and without additional fees. I would like to give special thanks to the ZenMarket support team, who kindly and very helpfully, responded to my request before sending it. In addition to giving me more security, I'm sure it made a difference in the clearance of the shipment, avoiding any mistakes at customs. Thanks again!
Also was Zenmarket Express Standard oder halt Zenmarket Express Pudo nennt, damit lief beim Zoll alles rund.
Just a very useful way to get items from Japan! Low commission, a lot of choice thanks to yahoo auctions and good UI, good customer support. I will definitely use this service more often in the future, maybe for some nintendo switch games.
UPDATE: If you look at their reply this is an exact example of how not to do customer service. There was easily a middle ground to be found and they simply will not admit the packing took longer. Too bad Zenmarket, besides the hidden cost skimming and the petty ducking out on your promotions campaign - you could have done very well.... First of all I want people to know what a pleasure it is to do business with Japanese business people, they are without a doubt a class apart when it comes to selling honest authentic quality merchandise, so that's first. unfortunately, we always have to find ourselves dealing with proxies in order to do business with them and coming from my first dealings with Buyee I absolutely feel that Zen market is the better choice. Buyee is a dishonest website they secretly shave extra interest by taking your payment in euros and charging you secret conversion rates after thousands of buys I realised that they had been stealing from me and I left them. Zenmarket is the same if you ask to have the prices issued in euros you will be secretly charged conversion rates, however they do give you the possibility to upload your money for payments in Japanese yen and if you're using Revolut then you will be saving yourself from this scam which is very sneaky! However, the reason I'm writing this review is because Zenmarket was dishonest about something else they promised through a promotion that I would receive a large discount on shipping but then when it was time to pack the shipment, they intentionally procrastinated the packaging until the promotion could be deemed invalid even though it fell well within the period.. I thought because I had been spending a fair amount of money with them and I figured they would value me as a customer and really the discount was not so big that it would hurt them in any way they would still be making a huge amount of profit after shipping, but I found the customer service to be completely obstinate and also treated me dishonestly trying to bend the deception of the promotion on the basis of a technicality . so I'm writing this review to show them that it does not pay to rip off your customers, the search for a truly good proxy site will continue.... For those who really wants a short explanation, it's the hidden cost you have to watch out for with these proxy sites, they will sneaky charge you for shipping within Japan and they will also charge you Japanese VAT on top of the VAT you will be paying once it's imported, which is illegal, VAT should only be paid once foreign VAT should be paid once it's received by customs, not a double charge!! On top of that be well aware of the conversion rates always have the money uploaded into Japanese yen and don't mess with the settings because you want to see the euro price, they may automatically raise the price it's a small and almost unnoticeable amount but if you're buying a lot you're going to be paying for it .
