My experience was brilliant, my instructor James from Peterborough was very professional and made the experience of learning how to drive comfortable and easy for me. Would definitely recommend anyone who is very keen to start driving to use this course. The theory training was also very helpful.

Amazing instructor. I had Mo as mine and he was one of the nicest people I have met. He led me through the clutch control and how to set off correctly. At the end of the week I learnt a lot about driving and it was a great experience.

My instructor Shabana at Leeds was super helpful she made sure i was comfortable and confident pushing me to face challenges in a great way that meant i came out of these challenges even better. I feel super confident now out on the roads and am very excited to book my test and get driving on my own!

Great course, punctual, friendly and knowledgeable. My instructor Chris Wise was fun, calm and clear with instructions and I felt quite confident by the end of the fifth day. The theory lessons were also very good, and interesting and I learned to use my reasoning to find the answer, not just memorise it.

Leon really did help me so much with not only the driving but the theory as well helped me to pass my theory first try even when I was really nervous for It

Based on reading the other reviews I think your experience is completely down to who you get as a instructor Theory 'training' was an absolute joke, I came into the centre and was essentially told to download the generic driving test app that's a fiver and work through that most of the time and the 'lessons' were a slideshow that seemed to have been ripped from the app. whenever me or the girl, who was on the course the same week as me, asked a question the instruction didn't know the answer literally once - The girl i was with stopped coming to theory by the third day because it was so pointless - apparently the person who usually did the theory was off this week to be fair, but if I am paying £1200+ for this course why is there not a suitable replacement for this? My Practical instructor (Same as before) was horrible to be in a car with for 5 days. he'd continuously complain about 5day as a company, he was constantly burping and I swear he would zone cause I'd ask him easy stuff like which direction should I go and he'd take too long to answer so id miss turning then have a go at me even though he gave me like 10 seconds notice - This didn't help the stress of learning to drive On the last day I also missed out on about an hour worth of a lesson cause he got a call from 5 day where he was getting told off by one of the operators for apparently taking money off a student for tests - he was arguing with her but he had literally offered me the same thing all week and even tried again after this - I didnt here the full conversation as I got out the car and sat on some random curb for ages - but i did hear the operator say what he was doing was illegal My understanding when booking this course is that I was doing so to pass quickly and I was told before booking it that it typically took 2 - 6 weeks after passing theory to have your practical test and that you'd have a refresher lesson before - I didnt hear from them for 2 months and they booked it for 6 months a way - obviously not happy with this I went back and they said I'd be entitled to multiple refresher lessons beforehand so fair enough - they gave me one with the same instructor who then said I wasnt ready for the test ( maybe cause I havent driven in 6 months and was expecting more lessons) - My instructor (same as before) said to me that he was also angry at 5day and that they were screwing me over and I should go back to them and argue for more He then said something completely different to them but I continued to argue and got one more lesson/assessment with a new instructor Jim. Jim was Fantastic! I felt more confident after one lesson with Jim then I had over a week with the other instructor - Unfortunately given I hadn't driven in over 6 months he said I was still not ready to take the test that was a week from then - but I had a much better understanding of why and felt much closer to being ready 5day will not be booking another test for me and wont be giving me anymore lessons - so my experience with 5 day is that its taken 6 months longer then I thought it would to get to a point where I have to pay for my own test, pay for more lessons and am out over £1200 I would never recommend 5 day to anyone and suggest you book your own test and lessons, it will work out cheaper and if you don't like your instructor you can switch

Alan at Manchester was fantastic. I couldn't recommend him more. He's calm, clear and gives you the confidence to 'just drive'. The intensive course was brilliant, when you make mistakes you have the time to practice and correct that day or the next when you might need to wait a week doing traditional weekly lessons. Well worth the money.

Great comprehensive theory coverage, good support for questions and plenty of practice which set me up for passing my theory with my first attempt. Without some of the discussion we had I would have probably failed that theory, just studying independently. It helped to have access to the proper information. Finishing the course on a friday, we took the theory on Saturday straight away, with the topics still fresh in our minds. Additionally, the driving lessons provided by my instructor Shabana Majid through the course were great. She was very patient and calm, great for someone nervous about driving for whatever reason, this was my first time driving and I felt very at ease. Her fantastic verbal guidance alongside her demonstrations with maneuvers allowed me to gain invaluable practical experience in driving for the first time. Brilliant lessons and she's very observant leading to a stellar understanding of just what I needed to get better in areas I was lacking, thank you.

James (Peterborough) as an instructor was perfect, I came in the course with absolutely 0 driving experience, the progression I made by the end of week was good, unfortunately just not where I needed to be to go on to have a practical test as I still need a few more lessons to get up to standard. I would recommend this course to people with a little experience wanting to fast track their way to getting a full driving license.

Couldn’t recommend 5Day more, my instructor Alfie was brilliant and helped me to be test ready in under a week. If you put the effort in you’ll easily be ready. It’s 10000% worth the money and the time.

I did my course in Manchester with Alan. He is a brilliant teacher and I would recommend him to anyone learning in Manchester. I was a bit nervous about driving at first and he helped a lot with this and I really enjoyed his company all week. Alan also found the time to fit in a few extra lessons between my course and test. I couldn’t have done it without him!

Though the driving instruction was well delivered by a friendly and effective instructor, this 'fast track' driving course has been anything but... I have now been waiting over two months to get a date for my test following the week of instruction, with no real sense of how much longer this wait will be. I would advise anyone thinking of taking this course to instead, use the DVLA site to book your own test, even if it might be 6 months in the future. Then find a local instructor who is able to offer your 20-30 hours of instruction over 1 to 2 weeks before your test date. Ultimately, I have paid twice the going amount for 20 hours of instruction with the understanding that it would allow me to complete the process quickly. Instead, I have just paid a lot of money to sit around waiting for a call with no sense of when it might come, making future plans difficult to make, and feeling increasingly like an absolute mug. This is a company that is offering a service that they cannot currently deliver due to limited tests available.

My instructor Joe Dolin was really understanding and helpful I felt welcomed on the course and not too under pressure I feel like we should have been given a test date at the end of the course but I understand that was not possible everything else was perfect Thank you

I’m 27 and have never driven before. Currently on maternity leave and felt like the 5day course would be a great way to box off learning to drive so I could get about with my little baby as soon as possible and save money by doing an intense course. It was clear to me within the week by speaking with instructors that it’s really common for people to require additional lessons at the end of the course to get them to driving test standard. I think the course cost £1400 is very expensive with this in mind. I drove for 20 hours in the week so that’s like £70 an hour- over double the hourly rate in Manchester from independent companies and instructors. I received theory training via zoom and honestly couldn’t fault the instructor he was great and I don’t mean this in any way against him but I didn’t learn anything within the 8 ish hours of zoom training that wasn’t already available on my £5 theory 4-in-1 app (highly recommend) which also holds a pass guarantee or money back to it. I did pass my theory exam at the end of the week but I could have done that via my app also so I feel like I’d of rather paid less from 5day and not received this. Most people who have independent driving instructors tend to learn via their practical instructor on their lessons via pointing things out etc they don’t have sit down lessons. I’m nowhere near close to passing my practical- I appreciate everybody learns at different speeds however I’ve been advised by 5 day that in order to be put forward I need to be hitting 4/5s on my ratings of my driving and by the end of the week I was 2/3s. I just think that it’s misleading on their website that you will be off and away by the end of the 5 days because looking at other reviews and speaking with people it’s clear that isn’t a given it’s dependant on driver ability. Bear in mind that the pass rate on their site doesn’t take into account that those passes could have included multiple additional lessons. To add on- the Manchester branch no longer has a physical site which means I had to use local businesses to use the bathroom and eat outside because they had nowhere for me to use the facilities anymore which I found a bit cheap to be honest. To add on, normally driving instructors booked independently come to your house and drop you off there after your lesson but due to the 5 day set up I was travelling every day to and from Trafford park for my lessons which wasn’t the end of the world but just thought I’d add that on. I think that ultimately I learnt the basics of driving within that 5 days but i will now have to fork out for independent lessons to get me up to speed which means I’m probably going to be paying over £2k when all is said and done. I think if you already have basic experience driving from family and friends or previous lessons and you’re looking for that boost to get you ready to pass your practical then this would be great but as a beginner I really struggled with things like clutch control and learning the gears and didn’t have an opportunity to refine any areas due to the limited time in the car.

I was unsure as a 28 year old new driver, I was put with an instructor called Tristan at the ipswich branch and I honesty couldn't fault the course or Tristan he was calming and made me feel really welcome, answered any questions I had and was able to take me from not being able to drive a car to being able within 5 days. Huge thank you to Tristan.

My driving instructor Mo was more than what I could have imagined for a perfect driving instructor, he cover all topics with me in the space of 3 days and did in a safe and calm manner, I have learned not only to drive but to make the right decisions and observations on the road when necessary and how to monoover from parked and driving, he was very respectful and all in all I can only rate this experience 5star, I would recommend Mo to anyone that asks me to learn he is one of a kind. I had an excellent week with John who is one of the nicest chaps I’ve met and an even better instructor. He is very patient, calming and informative. He is also very accommodating in terms of timings, being flexible where I needed. Glenn who taught us the practical in the mornings is a great teacher and I cannot recommend them both enough.

Just completed a 5day course in Bristol with Rob Harris. He is a fantastic instructor, very patient and encouraging as I had zero experience with a car. Every mistake I made was used as a learning tool and Rob was there to reassure me. I felt safe and able to ask lots of questions and learn at a pace that suited my journey. Thank you Rob, you've been great and when my kids are ready to learn I will send them your way.
