WARNING AMIGO WAS TAKEN DOWN DUE TO MISS SOLD LOANS TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND I AM ONE OF THEM!! 50%APR NO PROPER CHECKS ON FINANCIALS, THEY PERSUADE YOU TO TAKE A LOAN REGARDLESS OF YOUR SITUATION. IT'S BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE THE COURT CASES AGAINST THEM. THEY STILL HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO THE COMPLIANT REGARDING THE SCHEME OF ARRANGEMENT. AMIGO LOANS PAY BACK THE MONEY YOU STOLE FROM PEOPLE IN NEED!!!! DISGUSTING COMPANY

Jul 04,2023I would not recommend Amigo Loans to anyone. I was mis-sold a loan by them, and they have been nothing but a rip-off. I applied for a loan with Amigo Loans because I was in a difficult financial situation. I was told that the loan would be affordable, and that I would be able to repay it easily. However, the loan was much more expensive than I was expecting, and I have struggled to make the repayments. I have contacted Amigo Loans on several occasions to try to get a better deal, but they have been unhelpful. They have refused to reduce the interest rate, and they have even threatened to take me to court if I don't keep up with the repayments. I feel like I have been taken advantage of by Amigo Loans. They have behaved like loan sharks, and they have not been honest with me about the terms of the loan. I would urge anyone thinking of taking out a loan with Amigo Loans to think twice. Here are some specific examples of how Amigo Loans have been a rip-off: * The interest rate on my loan is much higher than I was expecting. * The fees associated with the loan are also very high. * I have been charged late fees even though I have made my repayments on time. * I have been contacted by Amigo Loans' debt collection agency even though I am still making my repayments. I am now in a worse financial situation than I was before I took out the loan with Amigo Loans. I would not recommend them to anyone. If you have been mis-sold a loan by Amigo Loans, you should contact the Financial Ombudsman Service. You may be able to get compensation for the distress and financial hardship that you have experienced.

May 31,2023I got a 5000 loan they never done any back ground checks on my income i was in so much debt that these was my last option my guarantors finances wasnt the best nither and she was on a very low income but yet they didnt check any thry just give me it struggled to.pay my monthly payments went inot a payment play but yet they keep sending thretning letters out avoid at all cost

Apr 20,2023Up until now they have been good, but have just taken 18100 from my guarantor even when I have paid this months. I had a text message back on the 3rd saying not been paid so this then prompted me to pay it, however they have now just taken more from my guarantor without any reason or email explaining they were going to and why to neither myself or my guarantor. Expect a refund now. 181.00 has no relevance whatsoever either such a random amount of money to take

Mar 04,2023Took a loan out and paid in full then the guarantor complained and got the loan back now they want me to pay it back again even though the original loan is satisfied and no money has ever gone into my account

Mar 01,2023Absolute disgusting company. Never missed a payment in 4 years - one was slightly late but within their 7 day window. They then bombarded my guarantor with financially threatening letters etc.. but I wasn’t even in arrears!! Told credit file and that negatively impacted me. I have 3 payments left but unfortunately have had to enter an IVA due to the current state of this country.. what can I say only they have sent default notices even though it’s not in arrears again, and the letter states no arrears but if arrears aren’t paid court action will be taken??!!. Literally just made an official complaint, and will continue on to the financial ombudsman. They cause more worry and upset than debt itself. So sorry that I voted for their scheme of arrangement also. They shouldn’t be licensed anymore.

Extremely poor customer services, I cleared my debt with them over a year ago, the office team are shocking and no help at all I had 1 good person to speak to in over 5 years with them, I cleared my debt with them and a year has past when all of a sudden I get a letter saying I owe them more money from 2018 from a “technical error” on there system, checked my account which still says nothing is owed. Biggest mistake was going to this company 5 years of belittling from customer service team and shocking support.

Dec 11,2022After agreeing to be someone’s gaurantor, then said person telling amigo they couldn’t afford to pay, it was down to me as gaurantor. Which I know that’s what I signed up for. But then I got in contact on numerous occasions to tell them that person who took loan out was doing more hours so therefore earning more, so they should get in contact to get them to pay again, this never happened. I have ended up paying it for last 2 years with no help from amigo. They make it so easy for people to get loans, then make it even easier for them to ring and say they can’t afford to pay, so then it is down to gaurantor. They should have been in contact with them every month, but by sounds of it, once you ring to say you can’t pay they leave them alone and hound the gaurantor.

Nov 26,2022I had an Amigo Loan back in 2017, when I was in a total mess regarding money, I was knee deep in debt and thought stupidly despite being out of work, an Amigo loan would be the best way of dealing with my finances and getting some money. The biggest mistake of my life, despite being turned down by other loan companies for loans of only a couple of hundred, Amigo offered me £5000 without a issue, they don't check credit reports for the person applying only the guarantor, so they have no idea if you can afford the loan or not. I had the loan for a few months, was late making repayments and then some how without my knowledge my ex partner and her father (guarantor) were able to to top the loan up to £7500. Her and I split up shortly after this, leaving me to pay this debt, the guarantor left the country, so I couldn't argue about the top up loan. When I was back working, every other creditor would work with me, freezing interest or freezing payments for a few months to allow time to get on my feet, not Amigo, they demanded the full amount each month which I just didn't have and each time I missed payments, charges were added, and defaults were placed on my credit file. They then issued a CCJ without my knowledge despite making token payments each month. If they had worked with me, I would have cleared the balance in full and only about 3 months later then the 5 years (at worse, possibly within the time frame) They were impossible to speak with and I was made to feel like a criminal! Yes, I shouldnt have applied for the loan, but they should also never have approved it! They just think of the interest and will do anything to get there money there and then! They will never allow people time or work with them!

Aug 03,2023I needed a loan very quickly and Amigo were the only one that would help me they checked everything and my garantor and were happy to oblige i am so pleased with everything they have done for me and the superb way they dealt with me they were wonderful and i can not thank them enough, THANK YOU
