Oct 04,2022Didn’t want to give 1 star but wouldn’t let me write a review ,last month got 3 texts 3 emails saying I hadn’t updated my payment settings replied back I will be paying myself by other means Not off my card that was on my account low and behold logs into my account to get the bar code AMIGO had taken my payment off the card that had no money in…I had to get my sister to go to the bank and put the money in. Rang them to complain 3 days later a rep called who said she was a manager and said sorry we will give you 30 pounds I refused and said no way .. so she said ok il put your complaint to another manager got a letter to say complaint was open and I would hear from them still waiting But guess what they had still gave me the 30 pound credit so point been they DONT listen and just please themselves what they do I have 1 more payment to make and then I’m finished. Because not only have they had 10,000 pounds in interest off me they even take payments now from cards you don’t give permission for them to take if it was us doing it we would be up before a court charged with theft please do not use this company they are HORRENDOUS and I really mean that….

Sep 23,2022Absolutely fuming I missed 1 payment in November, iv since finished the loan I had it 3 years and missed 1 payment which i paid over 2 months at the end. You’ve put on my credit file i missed 8, are you stupid you text every time you got a payment.

Sep 13,2022Should be minus 5stars Awful company as others state hound for money they are not entitled to both me and the guarantor. I have a final payment that’s slightly less than the monthly payments, they called and said a special arrangement must be made for it, then told the credit agency I have missed payment, the history of this loan is full of stories like this. They are bullies and crooks if you get a loan with them on your head be it, consider yourself warned! Plus 45% interest is not 10k on a 7.5k loan!! This in 21st century Briton i thought was illegal!!!

Aug 24,2022Its a loan company where they lies about the system of 7 days arrears - where you should have a time window to do the payment, but no matter the day Amigo will add that as miss payment and mess up with your credit score. I never missed a payment NEVER but still they added on my credit score - also, very very high interest rate - think twice before applying with them. They said something but they doubt the opposite thing, and the customer service they are a waist of time they don’t care so don’t apply for this company.

Aug 16,2022There needs to be minus stars!! This company is disgraceful.. For your own sanity... Stay away from them and go elsewhere! They harass you and your guarantor, they send default notices and threatening letters saying you have not resolved a late payment, they say theyhave not been able to resolve the issue... EVEN DESPITE SENDING THEM UNCOUNTABLE EMAILS of the payment date. They have no empathy for individuals. A complete disgrace. I have taken out many loans in my time and have never been treated like this company!

Aug 15,2022Horrific to deal with. Had an issue with payments recently after being with them for years and having borrowed around 15k in total. Constantly sending threatening emails while I am in communication with them. It doesn't matter if you have already agreed with them when payments will be made they keep sending threats from me and my guarantor signed by the same guy who I have been contacting and resolved the issue with. I have 2 pending claims with them that they wormed out of by threatening to go into insolvency. So I have to pay on time and every time but they are fine to owe thousands in compensation. I will now only get 41p of every pound they owe me due to them not being able to afford to pay all claims. I wish I could pay 41p of each pound I owe you! Never ever again. Not worth it people. I wish I had never agreed the loan with them.

Aug 09,2022I have been their client for a few years. I knew from the beginning that will be a big interest, but sometimes is not all just about money, but the manner in which you are treated and they did very well. Very polite and friendly staff, transparent and honest procedure. So if you have a decent income, but not enough for big banks and you know you can pay on time, ask them! It will be a big interest, but no stress and anxiety.

Jul 25,2022Always tried to take my parent too early even though they had been told the money would not be in the bank untill later that day. The app wouldn't let me change the date. I called up but the woman on the phone didn't understand me so I gave up. Very unprofessional service. I cancelled my direct debit and logged on to pay each month so I could guarantee the money would be there. Was a lot of hassle and will never do it ever again

Jul 15,2022If you're in any doubt about how dodgy this company is, even the financial ombudsman doesn't want to handle any more complaints about them. In May this year, a new scheme of arrangement was agreed between FOS and Amigo. This now means that any complaints will be handled by Amigo themselves, and placed into a claim scheme that will be reviewed in November. So they are now basically doing whatever they want and acting outside of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 because they know that they can carry on until at least November this year before they lose their credit licence. I paid off my loan completely over 7 years ago. In 2020 I made a claim against the business and they compensated my guarantor and advised that I now owe them money. No formal demand was ever issued, nor a payment schedule, yet Amigo is now marking defaults against my credit file to show missed payments. When I contacted them, I was advised that they don't know what I mean. I asked for a copy of their complaints process, they don't have one apparently. That's who you are dealing with folks!

Jul 14,2022Please avoid this company at all costs! They take advantage of people in difficult situations and the interest on their loans is ridiculous! They will harras you constantly at all hours of the day if your payment is late are not interested why. Their staff are extremely rude and act almost like bailiffs on the phone. PLEASE IF YOU ARE DESPERATE FOR MONEY EXPLORE EVERY OTHER AVENUE FIRST. And if that doesn't work still avoid this company.

Jul 04,2022I was a guarantor for a lender and bitterly regret doing so. If the payment is late I was bombarded with emails, texts and letters in the post, sometimes on Saturday and Sunday at unsociable times of the day. By the nature of some of the borrowers who go to Amigo, they are likely to be those who may not be organised enough to pay their debt on time. Thankfully finally our debt is finally paid but I would NEVER take on this role again

Jun 27,2022I should never have been given this loan I couldn't afford it, I was ill and vulnerable and am lucky enough to have a friend that was just trying to help me survive so agreed to be my guarantor. If you are 1 day late you get harrassed non stop, they are not interested in any changes of circumstances, and just don't care. I've also just followed their link to submit my claim and got a big red warning sign saying I'd been blocked from their site?! They will destroy your mental health, please avoid

Oct 07,2022I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! Looking back seems I was spot on about this, suddenly all the 5* ratings stopped when they got caught on the fraud. Think trust pilot should investigate how this company frauded these 5* reviews and do a lessons learnt.
