In the airport building we were given the document for an almost new car with only 4,500 km on the clock. At the pick-up counter the car was simply exchanged. The car had 50,000 km and lots of scratches. We then drove off. After 5 minutes the warning light for low tire pressure came on. The steering of the car was strange and had some play. We drove back and asked for the car to be exchanged. I did not feel safe as a driver in this car. Unfortunately this was received very unfriendly. There was no car in this category available. The cars were all checked before they were released and everything was fine. As for the tire pressure, it was due to the outside temperature and the rain. I should just reset the display and then everything would be fine. This was then carried out by an employee. The only solution we were offered was an upgrade for 40 or 60 € per day. Which I found very outrageous. After consulting my provider, I was advised that I would like written confirmation that I did not feel the car was safe and that it would not be possible to exchange the car. I was told that nothing would ever be confirmed in writing and that I could send an email to that effect. That is not customer-friendly and service-oriented. This was my ninth rental of a rental car this year. I have never experienced such poor service.
First of all: The most of the staff was ok. The first guy wasnt, he sent as away, because we were a little esrly, instead of doing the check in, so when it was my time, I had to wait because suddenly only von staff member was there. The worst thing was the car. Igot the worst car I ever drove. It was nearly impossible to drive a raising in an other gear than 2nd or 3rd. I dont rent a compact car, to get something like that, with a motor too small, even for aFiat Panda.
I have rented a car from this company several times already. Cars are always in good condition and staff helpful. I had damage to the car but because I was insured I did not have to pay anything extra.
Très déçu tu réserve une voiture à 293€ Tu paye une partie en avance comme acompte Arriver sur place sois disant ma carte ne fait pas crédit sa passe a 760€ la réservation Je déconseille totalement en plus la voiture je l’ai récupérer vachement tard par rapport à l’heure de prévue pas de geste donc déçu

The staff was friendly, and the car was clean and in perfect condition. The rental process was easy, and the prices were fair. I’ll definitely use their service again and highly recommend them
Al llegar al aeropuerto de destino, nuestro vuelo, había sufrido un retraso de más de una hora. El depósito de recogida de Avia estaba perdido a las afueras del aeropuerto . Mal indicado e incluso peligroso para el tránsito peatonal. Llegamos varios minutos después de la hora de cierre, por lo que nos cobraran una penalización . Asimismo, insistieron hasta la saciedad en que contrataramos el seguro de su compañía , a pesar de que llevábamos un seguro ya contratado en nuestro país de origen en la página donde hicimos la reserva del vehículo . No volveremos a contratar con Avia.
Great. Bit of queue in airport but they processed quickly
I rented a car from Avia Car Rental between 07/09/2024 and 16/09/2024, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a rental company. Here are the key issues I encountered: 1. No Assistance Provided: During the trip, I had a flat tire in a remote area, 20km from the nearest help. Despite having a contract with a €360 deductible, Avia refused to offer any assistance. I had to manage everything on my own, including towing, buying and installing new tires, and covering all the related expenses. 2. Unjustified Withholding of Deposit: When I returned the car in perfect condition, Avia kept my deposit without any explanation or justification. 3. Refusal to Provide Complaints Book: When I requested the official complaints book, which is legally required in Croatia, the representative (Dora) refused to provide it and wouldn’t properly identify herself. Instead, I was given only a generic customer service email. 4. Rude and Unprofessional Behavior: The company’s supervisor was unhelpful, disconnected our phone call, and made it impossible to lodge a formal complaint at the time. This company’s behavior was unprofessional, and I would strongly advise anyone against using their services. Not only did I lose my deposit without reason, but I also incurred additional costs that should have been covered by the rental agreement. REPLY TO YOUR REPLY: Unfortunately, I find that when situations are unpleasant, responses tend to follow the same pattern of denial and dismissal of facts (all start the same way). 1. We were well aware that the rental included a €350 deductible. However, the issue arose when we had to pay for tire replacements, which far exceeded this deductible as proved. When we requested assistance, it was refused, leaving us to handle everything alone in a challenging situation, in a location where we did not speak the language, and with no guidance or contact support from your team, as the audio recordings of our communications confirm. 2. The information you mentioned about the deposit being released within 30 working days was not provided to us at the time of rental. In fact, we were told that any deductions for damages would be made from the deposit, which prompted our request for the complaints book. 3. As for your claim that the complaints book is not mandatory, both European and Croatian laws stipulate that businesses must provide a way for consumers to lodge formal complaints. According to European Directive 2013/11/EU and Croatian consumer protection regulations, there must be an accessible, official method for lodging complaints, whether physically on-site or through an alternative means provided at the place. Denying this request violated our rights as consumers. 4. The escalation of attitudes you mention only occurred due to your representative's unresponsiveness and lack of cooperation. Everything was recorded to ensure that authorities can verify the accuracy of our statements, should this issue be escalated further. Lastly, as you are now aware, all these points have been submitted to the appropriate Croatian and European authorities, and both audio and video evidence will be provided to disprove the inaccuracies and falsehoods of your response.
I feel I was ripped off. There was a scratch underneath the bumper that I am certain I did not do. The person at the check out desk had to put their hands underneath the car to find it. It was as if they already knew it was there. Also, I would not have been possible for me to identify the scratch when I first collected the car unless the car had been up on a hoist.
Every time I need to rent a car rental in Zagreb, I book it with Avia. Everytime the procedures are smooth, the staff is available, sometimes nice upgrades. I recommend it very much.

Everything was very fast, car clean and like new one.
Great car and fantastic value. Car was exactly as booked and in great condition. Staff had a good look around the car with me before I took it and recorded any damage - no issues on return. Some reviews suggested it was a long walk from the airport - yes you had to go outside the airport building but it was less than 4min beyond all the other car hire booths inside the building and I was pushing a wheelchair and two cases! Will definitely use next time we visit.

I had a pleasant experience with the Avia Rent a car/ zagreb airport. The staff was helpful and explained all the rental terms well. Car was new and comfortable. We arrived late at night after hours due to 3 hours delayed flight. We were happy to find the place still open and car available.
Good an clear explanation at the desk while paying.
1. The pick up address was not correctly stated. We were not the first ones to experience this 2. The shuttle service was non existent 3. When finally at the pick-up counter, the responsable (Tomislav) did not take on the feedback and pointed at the"agency". 4. Even though we did all the check in online up front (including scanning of the drivers license and ID card), we had to go through the entire procedure again at pick up. So the online check-in is a useless waste of time
Easy, fast, efficient and nice staff (at Dubrovnik Airport) Only downside was the car, not the best make and model (however it was brand new and clean) that has nothing to do with them, still a 5*. I had to pick up and return the car out of hours and was even changing my times, no issues with any of that, all sorted over the phone with a few minutes conversation.
