Trouble on handing back the car. Without mentioning a cleaning fee was added to an insurance case for something that would easily be covered by the normal hygiene cleaning that should be done after every customers. Otherwise, I would highly critizise the cleaning that is being done.

I've been charged for 1200e for a simple scratch on the underbody of the car. The reason to pay such amount is to "replace" the entire underbody of the car because of this scratch. Of course the company will never make this replacement. It is just a complete scam. Edit considering Avia answer: I have pictures and a video of the damage to support what I'm saying and I'm ready to share them on any platform. The damage is slightly visible, the car can be driven perfectly well with it. Be easy and transparent with your customers, you will never replace this piece with my money.

Bei der Übergabe gab es schon Probleme, betreffend Versicherung bzw. Selbstbeteiligung, wir fragten nach Hilfe zum Display und Sitzeinstellung- es gab keine. Ich erklärte,dass ich manche Dinge in schnellem Englisch nicht verstanden habe, das interessierte niemanden. Später unterhielt sich der Mitarbeiter mit einem Kollegen in flüssigem Deutsch- das ist nicht Kundenfreundlich und frech. Bei der Rückgabe gab es 45 Minuten lang nur Probleme. Die Mitarbeiterin machte Fotos von unter dem Auto und behauptete, wir hätten die kleinen Kratzer da verursacht. Als wir das Auto bekamen, hätten wir Bilder von unter dem Auto machen müssen- das ist unverschämt. Wir hätten uns auf Sand- und Steine legen müssen um das zu fotografieren. Ich erhielt jede Menge Papiere, wo mir bis heute nicht klar ist,was ich da angeblich bezahlen soll. Ich habe das Premium Paket der Versicherung. Es war eine richtige Abzocke. So etwas ist mir in 30 Jahren Mietwagen Ausleihe in keinem Land in Europa passiert.
Super quick handling. Even got an upgrade for free. Car was totally new! And very important: No one tried convincing me of buying any additional products/services such as an extra insurance. I highly recommend this rental company.
Tout s'est bien passé, la voiture était quasi neuve et nous n'avons eu aucun probleme que ce soit au check in ou au check out.
Full insurance and deposit charges are not disclosed on website. I made a reservation through a third party website (Economy booking)which said my rental includes full insurance , theft coverage , unlimited miles … When arrived to pick up the car I was told that I have to pay $1100 deposit and that insurance that was included is not actually full insurance, even though it states that it is on the confirmation email. I felt that deposit amount was unusually high, normally the deposit is $300 to $500 everywhere else I rented. I asked if I could pay for the deposit with my debit card and was told that I could not. I checked on their website prior and it did say that they accept debit cards. It would have been nice if it was disclosed on the website how much the deposit charge is and that debit cards are not accepted for deposits. Then I was told that if I purchase full insurance through them I would not have to pay for $1100 deposit. I felt like I was forced into purchasing full insurance even though it was included and I had a proof of that in the email I showed them . I felt like I was being scammed . That ruined my experience and I would not rent with Avia again.
I found the desk personnel not friendly. But they were fast and to the point, which was nice. The car worked well and we did not have any problems, which was also very nice. However I felt like they were trying to rip me off (pressure to get an extra security without proper explanation). Also the full to empty tank deal gave me the impression that they were trying to rip me off (the chances of even saving money with that deal are very slim which you know if you think about it for two seconds). My guess is they are cheap because they make money by selling unnecessary insurances. Felt unsafe and uncomfortable. All in all, I would not rent a car with Avia again, even though everything with the car itself went perfect.
Everything went smooth and easy. Staff was friendly, the car was nice and new.
Inadequate contractual details visible at selection of hire. The most unwelcome aspect of hiring a car at a foreign destination is the surprises that are sprung on the customer at the time of pick up. It is a real bad way to start a holiday. 1) I declared my age at the start, 19 weeks prior to start date, yet there was no communication concerning additional payment. The receptionist made a phone call, which appeared to be theatrical just to add pressure on myself, because she must have known the procedure perfectly well. There was a threat of not allowing the hire to proceed. Again semantics. I had to pay a supplement of 62.50 euros to move forward. 2) Then I was presented with an 'out of hours charge' even though I had been in a queue for a considerable time waiting to be served. It is unacceptable to impose this at the time of hire because my flight details were well know ( again for 19 weeks ) and the charge should have been included in the initial contract. I had to pay an extra 50 euros at the point of hire. 3) Then we had the usual pantomime concerning damage waiver. The agent wanted me to pay an additional 350 euro to be sure of 100% damage protection, by now I was running out of good manners and patient. This is absolutely unacceptable sharp practice and has no place in a simple contract such as car hire; there is no difficulty in ensuring full transparency with car hire arrangements yet Avia Car resort to last minute complications to confuse and try to get more money from the customer. 4) There was very inadequate information about the location of the Avia office at Split. I had to ask other hire companies where to find my car. Then a long walk, with all the luggage, out of the airport, along an unmade stony path, and then a 40 minute wait in a queue. Clearly, had all the above had been obvious to me at start of contract I would not have chosen Avia, so, for me, it was a disingenuous arrangement.
Miete oft ein Fahrzeug bei Avia und es funktioniert alles immer reibungslos. Bin immer sehr zufrieden und werde auch immer wieder bei Avia Fahrzeuge mieten.
