AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Bellhop loading crew showed up exactly on time on moving day but could not locate box truck driver, waited an hour for status, called Bellhop several times but no truck to be found. No ETA for truck available, subsequently AN HOUR LATER Bellhop cancelled leaving us to make other arrangements ON MOVING DAY. Bellhop managed to make a stressful day immeasurably MORE STRESSFUL. I would not recommend Bellhop as it appears Bellhop has no contingency plan in the event that a truck driver fails to report. Their MOVE DAY CANCELLATION caused us enormous stress and additional expense. AVOID THEM.

I was confident I could handle the move by myself, but by the end of packing everything I was exhausted and stressed out. Finding bellhop to help me out at last minute was a blessing. Kirk and Nadir were sent and saved me so much stress on an already stressful day.

My experience with Bellhop was an absolute nightmare, and I regret ever hiring them. I used them for what should have been a simple 2-hour move from North Carolina to Virginia, but it turned into a series of headaches and damages that I’m still dealing with. For the price I paid, I expected at least a baseline level of professionalism and care, but what I got was far from it. The loaders, while young, friendly, and seemingly capable, treated my items with zero respect. They disassembled my baby’s crib, my master bed frame, and another bed frame, only to strip screws during reassembly, lose bed slats, and fail to keep screws organized. The end result was furniture I couldn’t even reassemble properly without additional costs and effort on my part. It only got worse during the unloading process. My $2,600 TV was damaged, and my center table’s glass was completely shattered. Instead of taking responsibility, Bellhop offered me an insulting $40 settlement for all the damages. Their customer service was equally awful—when I attempted to file a claim to seek reimbursement for my losses, they dismissed my concerns and refused to make things right. It’s clear they don’t stand behind their services or care about their customers. For the high prices they charge, this level of negligence and disregard is inexcusable. Hiring Bellhop was a huge mistake, and I would never recommend them to anyone. If you value your belongings or your sanity, stay far away from this company. They’re overpriced, careless, and completely unaccountable for the damages they cause. This was by far the worst moving experience of my life, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Avoid Bellhop at all costs.

We booked with Bellhop for a move. The reservation was for the 20th of December at 2pm. I was charged in advance for the move which I had no problem with. The reservation was for 2 26 ft trucks 5 movers and 5 hours. The team was over 2 hours late and showed up high, could smell the marijuana. They only brought 1 26 ft trucks and a small 10 ft box truck. We had every box ion main floor to make as easy as possible. I said the entire contents wouldn’t fit with the trucks that they brought. They assured me it would. The proceeded to roughly load trucks and broke and scared furniture. Only half of our items fit and when I said you’ll have to make a second trip they said it would be extra and got very threatening over it. They brought the items they had loaded leaving other half at house. When unloading again were rough with stuff and only brought into garage. I had to rent a truck and finish loading the rest of our stuff myself along with hauling everything from garage to the rooms of the new house. I am a disabled veteran that has a very bad back that struggles with lifting and carrying, which is why I hired a moving company. When I called bellhop they informed me that they could only reimburse me 250.00 of a 2600.00 dollar move saying that was fair compensation. I explained I wanted half back because they only moved half my stuff and they rudely informed me it wasn’t going to happen and I could sue them. Which I plan to do !!! If you are thinking about using this company please be advised. They are not an actual moving company. They are brokers that hire out cheapest bid and keep the rest. I gave a 1 star rating only because you can’t give a negative one Kevin O’Neill After review bellhop responded that in contract extra trips would have to be adjusted, however if movers would have provided the rights size truck that was paid for then there would be no need for second trips so that doesn’t follow under the companies guidelines. I paid for 2 26 ft trucks and was only provided with 1 26 ft truck and a box truck so bellhop didn’t not live up to there end of contract. This will be forwarded to better business bureau, consumer affairs and my attorneys

The crew leader didn't load the 2-26' trucks fully. They dropped several things during the loading. They were dismissive about dropping items. The crew leader complained incessantly about the workload. The crew leader pointed out anticipation of going to the next job that was over 3 hours in the future. Lack of focus on wrapping our project up. The had room. I visually saw it. They were instructed they could leave a mattress and box spring if needed. Instead, they left important items including pictures, etc. Now, my wife and I had to fly back, rent a car, then a Uhaul, then load and drive back to our new home in Iowa. It will cost us an additional $1600. I am one to leave a tip, even on moderate to bad service. Because of the crew leader not loading the remainder of our items and it costing me, I will not be leaving a tip this time. She can tip the other people. On a positive the driver AJ was very nice and professional. The loaders, other than the crew leader were positive on interactions with my wife and kids. Very disappointed in having fix their lack of discipline to finish the loading project. The second driver was not helpful or professional upon delivery. He slept in his truck without letting us aware we were good to start unloading. We waited about 20 minutes before checking on him, waking him up to get an update of next steps. He didn't help to open the trailer door which I found could be a danger and liability concern if one of us novice people got injured attempting to open the door and get the ramp prepped. I did a lot of homework on finding a moving company. I've never utilized one before. Bellhop was the cheapest. I now believe they were the cheapest because of cutting some corners and ultimately costing me more money after the delivery/unloading was done. Items should not have been left behind. Trucks should not have taken off. They had more room. Zero doubt in my mind about this. The crew leader made this happen.
