Dec 24,2024Disclaimer: This is probably on me for not researching and completely understanding what Bellhop is/does: I requested three movers to help load my Uhaul for a one-way move out of state. The morning of my move, five movers turned up. Apparently, Bellhop assigned two brand-new movers to my load-up (it was both of their first moves ever). This is all fine and good, but the three experienced movers let the new movers do the truck organization, leading to a not-very well-packed truck (when we arrived at our new home 6 hours later, the unloaders said, "oh wow...did you do this yourself?"). I'm not sure if Bellhop assigns new movers to jobs expecting the more experienced hires to train them, but if so, I don't think that plan is working very well. Additionally, having five movers for a one-bedroom apartment was inefficient because they were in each other's way - I would have really preferred two experienced movers and one new mover or something. And just a note that they also don't arrive with any tools or supplies at all, so keep that in mind when you're packing (we ran out of tape, which again is on me). At the end of the day, it was easy to set up and the move got done with 30 minutes over the estimated 2-hour timeline (again, for a one-bedroom that was fully packed, just needed to wrap the furniture items in blankets), but it all worked out.
