If it was possible to give zero stars we would!!! Bought a 48 hr London sightseeing tour ticket, on both days waited more than an hour for a bus. Today not actually managed to get on one as they’re full!! In times where social distancing is required, absolute disgrace that buses are packed and running so infrequently. Meanwhile Big bus and Toot toot etc have passed multiple times and are half empty!! Never again!
During these unprecedented times we were pleasantly surprised to find the City Sightseeing Tours still operating. All 3 lines were working together, which made for a wonderful Sightseeing experience. Thank you so much for some fabulous Edinburgh city history and facts.
Cancelled without any information . Says available online for the trip on Oxford. Very frustrating to travel all the way to know its closed. Office open but not letting anyone in to give an explanation. No one picked up call either.
Despite being local we decided during the pandemic to be tourists for the day in Edinburgh as we couldn’t go anywhere else. We have done these tours all over the world. We stayed on the bus and did the whole hours tour and enjoyed it. For anyone arriving in a city for the first time they are a great way to get your bearings. The bus driver and ticket staff were very friendly & helpful. The bus itself is one of the most modern we have been on with touch screens for the audio. We listened to the Horrible Histories audio which was very entertaining. The only downside was the ticket was incorrect as to where the meeting place to redeem the ticket was. It’s said Waverley Bridge but when we got to the ticket office there we were told the road was closed and we had to go to St Andrews Square, which granted was less than 10 mins walk. All in all, enjoyable.
The driver was good, in spite of some very challenging situations with other drivers' poor parking and deliveries en route. However, we would love to have heard more information, told in a more engaging style. I remember going on a Bath open top bus tour maybe 20 years ago, which was done by an actor, it was hilarious and so memorable. (Georgian wigs were so filthy they use honey-covered 'flea sticks' to draw out the insects every now and then) I wish they could record something like that. There were so many gaps with no commentary, as well and so much more I would have loved to know. Also the cables for the earphones were really short. Would love to see the buses go electric at some point, too, I felt guilty clogging up such a beautiful town with diesel.
Very informative
These tours are great for gaining local knowledge and my ticket was valid for 2 days. I did both tours twice over the 2 days. We enjoyed, the only negatives are that there are no timetables, buses arrive at random intervals, probably down to COVID restrictions and the headphones and sockets are pretty rubbish.
Great tour, nice places, interesting guide informations, kind and helpful drivers. We enjoyed it!
While I loved the bus tours themselves, it was very confusing on how to use the tickets. I got a digital confirmation and used it to board the first tour that I took. The driver handed me a receipt, but I wasn't sure why. So I put it back in my hotel room after the tour. Later in the day, I was ready to board the second tour and used my phone confirmation again. Except it didn't work. I was told by the driver that the receipt given to me by the first driver was to be used for this trip. So confusing! In this digital age, this seems unnecessary. When I objected, I was scolded by the bus driver, telling me that I always need to keep receipts. Uggh. Come on City Tours, keep this paperless and hassle free.
The Edinburgh City Tour was really good. The Hop-on-hop-off red buses had pre-recorded audio which was good but the green City buses has live audio which was amusing and informative and up-to-the- minute.
Buying the ticket was an easy task online, you can also buy when entering the bus. There are two routes, the one ticket takes you on both, about an hour long each. The commentary given throughout was very interesting, clear and concise. The two drivers we had were polite and helpful, would highly recommend this tour.
It was fun, fantastic & trike engaging & informative Due to a “live” guide we had some great - socially distanced - interactive moments. Very enjoyable & friendly - highly recommend. Both guides & drivers were super friendly
Loved it... especially the hop on hop off option... great value for money... very informative... covid instructions and cleaning first class
Very satisfying experience. Good organisation, good logistics, good routes through the city.
We have used your bus tours around the world, and have been very satisfied, until yesterday. We boarded the 2pm tour starting at Bournemouth Pier, and exited the bus in Poole, to catch a later bus back. The driver of this tour was exceptional, and couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. HOWEVER, the driver on our return was the exact opposite. At 5:50, we boarded the last tour leaving Poole, 10 minutes before departure at 6pm. He was immediately rude with us: glaring and confrontationally asking what we had been doing to be catching the last bus? Not sure what business that was of his, but we laughed it off. He then asked how far we were going, and we said back to Bournemouth. Where in Bournemouth he asked, and we said right back to the pier, as we were staying at the Royal Bath Hotel. He said ‘fine’, which we thought was weird, as that’s where the tour ends! We noticed there were 2 other passengers seated at the back of the lower deck, and we went upstairs with our disabled daughter, and sat at the front. She was very excited about finishing the bus tour! Then the bus departed, but there was no commentary; so at the first stoplight I went over and pushed the button, and when he stopped I went downstairs to inquire about this. The driver apologised and said he’d put it on. The commentary started, but was stilted, i.e. it kept coming on and then going silent, without the corney ‘Bournemouth’ song playing in between. We then realised we were not following the return route, and in Bournemouth he didn’t take us through to Hinton Rd and back to the pier, but came down Exeter Rd off Poole Rd, and dropped us off outside the Hermitage Hotel. It was announced this was the final stop, and all passengers needed to depart. However, when we came down the stairs with our disabled daughter (so it took a while), the other 2 passengers were still seated in the back, and making no move to leave. I politely asked the driver what his name was, and he asked me why? I said I was going to write to the company, and he replied he didn’t have to give me his name. I said “That’s fine, I’m sure they can figure out who was driving the final shift.” We walked off and he closed the bus doors, driving off with the couple still onboard. I am astounded that a reputable multinational company like yourselves employ someone who is so rude, and obviously not interested in doing his job. However, he was definitely interested in the other couple on the bus, perhaps running some kind of business on the side?
Excellent way to see all over Berlin! Took the 48 hour option which was a good move, as lots to see. Would definitely recommend. Felt Covid-safe too.
Detailed and informative audio. Friendly, helpful bus driver
Great way to see Bath via the Skyline tour and the City tour. Highly recommended even when its raining!
