How refreshing, everything CSIS said they’d do they did. An easy application form to complete resulted in a very competitive price for my travel insurance. The cover they offer is very thorough. My only regret is that I didn’t know about them sooner.
The process of taking out a new household insurance proved too complicated for me via the website, largely because I made repeated mistakes when it came to paying! But after telephoning, the whole process became much smoother. The people to whom I spoke were very helpful and the matter was quickly settled. Very good and efficient sevice.

This morning I received truly excellent, kind, positive customer service from three ladies, in two different departments. I am 78, have been very unwell with a virus 3 wks, still feel grotty, am "learner" on car insurance since husband diagnosed with dementia, he had always handled it. Our policy due for renewal 1st Jan, paperwork still not arrived. Somewhat cross, I phoned, pushed the wrong menu choice, was connected to New Policies, not renewals. Agent who answered understood my frustration and put me through immediately to Hannah in Customer Services. She was brilliant. Helpful, kind, thorough, gave me good information to know for future. She carefully went through renewal info I'd not yet received, answered all my questions, made sure I was happy - and I proceeded to pay. A couple of hrs later I had an "EEEeeek!" moment about something. A learner at this, had I made a mistake? I was due to meet a friend for lunch, was late and in haste. Customer services long tel queue when I phoned. So I phoned New Policies again, and explained query, and that I was in a tearful tizz. Rebecca took my call. She immediately said: "Leave with me, I will consult our underwriters and let you know, shall I email you their answer?" Goodness me, what service. Wrong dept. phoned, she had no need to do anything. She did. I made it to lunch, late. When home, email in from Rebecca to say all good, no problem. One rarely receives any customer service nowadays at most companies. To receive this excellence of service is unheard of and amazing. At 78 although very IT literate being able to speak to someone with queries is worth a lot. Thank you all three ladies I spoke to. I am a very satisfied customer.

Clear concise information. No unnecessary "sales pitch"
If you have an NHS pension, are planning to need worldwide annual travel insurance in your 70s and 80s and beyond, this is worth looking at. You must apply before your 75th birthday but there is no age cut-off after that as long as you keep up annual payments. Many insurance companies will not accept you after the age of 70 or 80. Crucially, provided your health is stable at the time of booking, paying for your holiday and travelling, pre-existing conditions do not exclude you. I was able to set it up with a single phone call and a follow-up enquiry was dealt with efficiently. The first screening interview was conducted 'at pace', and that would be my only criticism. Given all the advantages, the premium seemed very good value.
