Tax is complicated; the cycle to work scheme is not. You choose a bike, hire it for an agreed length of time, then snap it up for a fraction of its original value. It's like a year-round sale, with interest free credit available in over 2,000 retailers nationwide.
Still awaiting e certificate after 4 weeks but have been paying for my bike through detachment of work salary So not impressed very disappointing process
Just joined the cycle scheme, I can tell it's easy and and simple, my HR department is helpful when I contacted the about it the straight away sort it out with them and I'm being approved ☺️ went to bike shop choose my bike didn't like the gears so told them to change to the modern 2020's ones and only took 2 days when I received message saying my bike is ready. Now I got my new bike and will enjoy it when weather is better.
Outstanding service Applied for voucher, received same day, best way to get a bike for work👍
Signed up to Cyclescheme. Employer approved my application the same day. Employer paid for my certificate within 3 days and my certificate arrived via email the very next day. Started shopping immediately and now I am the proud owner of a new bike plus accessories. All very easy and straightforward Thankyou Cyclescheme
The Cyclescheme was easy to set up and I received notification of progress along the way. Although I had to change supplier and get a replacement certificate, that too was remarkably straightforward. The only wrinkle was that the price of the bike had increased during the time it took for the new certificate to arrive, but fortunately the retailer was kind enough to honour the original price.
Perhaps due to the recent surge in cycle demand, the rules of the scheme has made it near impossible to get a bike. Firstly, you need the exact amount of the bike on the certificate, then the bike i wanted was out of stock by the time the certificate came through. Switching to another bike meant i needed to increase the amount. I ended up getting one without the scheme (most retailers aren't even on the scheme and Decathlon don't accept the certificate online...)
Simple to follow the process. Pretty clear steps too. Once submitted got the certificate in a few days.
The process was straight forward and easy. I had to change vendors when the certificate arrived, as the first vendor no longer had the bicycle of my choice in stock. Cyclescheme reissued the certificate immediately when I called the support line.
Excellent, got a great bike and equipment saving a lot of money using cyclescheme
Clive mItchells where I purchased my bike always give excellent customer service
Decided not to use the scheme, as most of the retailers that accepted the scheme were higher end shops and I wanted a low to mid range electric bicycle. Some of the retailers wanted to charge 10% extra on the cost of the bicycle as well. Found it very difficult to cancel my voucher too, having to go between my HR and the cyclescheme agents, neither of them knowing how to cancel. In all, I think there must be better cycle to work schemes out there and more affordable retailers that accept the voucher without penalty. Have now gone down the route of getting one from Argos, which is still cheaper than saving the tax!!!
I have the Cyclescheme an excellent service, clear website, clear instructions and it allowed me to purchase a bike with more spec.
Perhaps as a result of the global pandemic, lock down, and with the majority of people working from home, and online, I've found the scheme voucher process to be far slicker than before. Quick, and easy. I've had a number of certificates before, average wait time was nearly a month. Whatever changes you've made have been very much for the better. Thank you. (In reply to Cyclescheme - thank you. The slickness of the experience this year shows the effort made, especially as the demand for new bikes has been exceptionally high. I look forward to next year)
Where do I start... I’ve been waiting for a certificate of collection for six weeks now despite already having payments towards the scheme deducted from my pay. Whenever I contact cycle scheme they show little interest in resolving the issue and tell me it will be another few days and then the same again the next time I contact.. I’ve left a deposit on a bike and the bike shop keep contacting me to see if I’m any closer to being able to collect it and they’ve also never known it take so long to get a certificate.. they said most schemes are same day and that cycle scheme always mess people around. I’ll update this review when I eventually get my certificate, if I do.
Fantastic scheme got a fantastic bike for a lot less than if I had just pay for one happy days
Sometimes it could be a little confusing in which order you need to do things (for me at least) but overall I found it smooth, well-organised and stress-free experience.
The site easily facilitated the purchase
Helpful information on website and easily understood
Don't confuse 'cyclescheme' with 'cycle2work' they are two different organisations and will have different retailers.

Dec 10,2020Can’t apply because the retailer (who is on their site) does not appear in the application search; Tried phoning and was told they can’t do anything, put in a support email and heard nothing after over 2 weeks. Chased it to get an auto reply that the case was closed. Very poor. Just to update, having raised a support ticket again and then chased it a week later my whole claim was processed and I got my certificate within a few hours on the same day. Amazing help from Nydia at Cyclesheme for extremely efficient service.
