I was in a situation regarding the foreclosure on my home. I called and was immediately given an appointment the following day. My issue was cleared and taken care of in the matter of less than 20 minutes. The representative that I spoke and met with was kind courteous, friendly, and very helpful to me explaining everything where I clearly understood. I would recommend this financial institution to all people that I know, even to those that I don't know.

I had an appointment a few weeks ago, and spoke to Arlene Keen about a motorcycle loan. She let me know the interest rates and said I was approved for a $7,000.00 loan. I hadn’t picked out a specific bike yet. She said just have the dealership call her when I made my selection. I found a motorcycle in Ohio. This morning, 1/22/21, I stopped in to the Holly road branch office. I made a withdrawal to purchase the motorcycle in case something happened with the financing. I spoke to Arlene Keen before leaving and told her I was going to Ohio to get a motorcycle. I told her the dealership would be calling her in a couple of hours. After getting to the Ohio dealership I looked over the motorcycle and decided to purchase it. The dealer called Arlene to take care of the financing so I could take the motorcycle home. She told him to email her the information. He did and told me to go have lunch and wait for her to call us back. We waited, but she never called either of us. I called her to see what we were supposed to do. She told me to come into the branch office, sign the papers, and pick up a check. I reminded her that I was in Ohio and asked if we could do it by fax or something like when I buy a car. She said we could, but that was a different kind of loan and would have to go through the loan department. She said she could get that started. We hung up and I told the dealer what was going on. He said they had other lenders I could use. It was already a long morning and I still had to drive another two and a half hours to get home. Thankfully I planned ahead for this kind of fiasco and brought cash. I called Arlene back and told her I didn’t need a loan and was going to pay cash. She told me after I got the title I could get a loan and pay myself back. Every time I’ve tried to get a loan with Dort Federal I’ve had issues. When I got a loan for my Camaro I had to make several trips between the dealership and branch office to secure the loan. When I bought my GMC Sierra 2 years ago I went to the branch office to get a loan and was told I had to make an appointment at the main office. The dealership got me a loan from another credit union and I never had to leave the dealership. I want to use Dort Federal for all of my financial needs, but it is impossible. Update: It’s been 14 days since my review and 11 days since Dort Federal’s automated response. No one has called me or sent an email. Just another example of how they conduct business.
So far all was explained well and easy set up.
Dort has turned back the clock on banking. They prioritize the customer. Face to face customer service, the old fashioned way (except with Covid protection)! Thank you Regan and the team Lapeer!
