Quick shipping, but very lacking in comms. And, they want you to report possible damage within 2 days of receipt, but this isn't mentioned on any of the order information or website, and only comes to light when you open the package and see the delivery note. Not helpful and not legal, because of statutory rights. Would make me think twice before using this company again. Update Nov22 - the company contacted TP for my contact details as additional info, perhaps to check that I did in fact order and post a genuine review. That's fine, but really, 13 months later???

I bought Villeroy and Boch Avento Washbasin Compact 550 x 370 mm White Alpin and Trap cover. Both were delivered with no problems but the delivery cost was £59.99 which I thought to be quite high. Basin was very nice and what I wanted but the Trap was not suitable so I had to return it. The collection of the trap costed me another £45.00. Although the communication with the customer service was very good and they replied to my emails promptly, I only leave 3 stars because of the high delivery/collection costs. I bought a basin from another company which later I had to return and they did not charge any additional cost of delivery/collection. However they did not have a suitable replacement. Please always read carefully the small print about the returns which I did not and I paid the price.
Customer help people spent a long time trying to sort out an equivalent order to what I required. They came up with what would fit but customer was not full satisfied so they agreed to my return of original items with no quibble
I received bath today (an expensive bath) that was purchased through ED but fulfilled by Abacus, the bath looks like it has been dragged on its a*** through the warehouse, scrapes and cosmetic damaged to the underneath, secondly the bath is cracked around the edges on the right hand side, thirdly although new, it smells like its been stored in a farm yard. Against all my frustrations I am going to keep the bath because I don’t have the time and energy to fight and I need it installed today. I am installing it in a way that the side damage, will never been seen and I believe the structural integrity of the bath is in tact but I won’t be purchasing from ED or Abacus again. This is “supposedly” a premium product, the USP of this bath is that is has an armoured shell that gives it longevity and peace of mind for many years. When you pay 4x a standard acrylic bath you expect an Apple Like experience, nice packaging, everything shiny and beautiful but this is so far from the truth. I’m deeply disappointed. I made this initial purchase through ED as they were an approved partner of Abacus, Abacus are the party at fault here but the retailer ED should have better quality controls in place to ensure their customers are getting a working product in good order. My recommendation to anyone moving forward is to purchase a bath on-site and collect so that you can inspect the product. Online businesses now sacrifice quality because they can “box shift product” in huge quantity and if things go wrong they can hide behind a screen.

I am amending my previous review - It was the delivery company employed by the manufacturer who were at fault - not Ergonomic Design. Thank you to Lynn Walters -Sales - Ergonomic Design - who chased this up continually with the delivery co and successfully had my order delivered within 3 days. Hopefully the manufacturer will change the delivery company.

Bathroom unit that was sold started delaminating after a week of light use. I was told the unit can't get water on it or that will happen. This is a bathroom sink unit. Getting some water on it is somewhat inevitable. The company has refused any refund at all. Only potentially offering a replacement worktop out of 'goodwill' The unit was advertised as having a 5 year guarantee. Apparently it doesn't cover immediately starting to fall apart. It has cost a lot of money to install and will cost a lot more to install any replacement worktop or unit.
Utterly disgusted and would never recommend. Ordered 2 items for Sept delivery date. One arrived four weeks early. Delivered to an unoccupied house being renovated so lucky a tradesman was on site to accept it. It was a few days before I visited so no idea till then item had been delivered. It was badly damaged. Refund or exchange flatly refused as I had not informed them within 48 hours of delivery. (Against sales if goods act rules). After numerous emails back and forth they offered my another item at cost price lol. Fortunately I had used PayPal who found in my favour obviously. Now it gets interesting. Paypal refunded me for both items I had purchased. Suddenly Ergonomics take great interest and want payment back for second item threatening me with legal action. The error clearly lay with PayPal who admitted to them their fault. Now, who do I return the money to. Ergonomics or PayPal. After further legal threats I asked them to invoice me via PayPal. I had never intended not to pay, just wanted to know who I actually owed the money to. I am sure they will have a mountain of excuses and reasons to justify their refusal to deal with the damaged item but trust me, they are breaking Trading Standards and Sale of Goods Act every day. Avoid this Company because if you do have a problem with damaged goods they will refuse to cooperate and turn quite nasty.

Hi, I have to say, that even though there were issues with my order, namely it wasn't in stock when I ordered it. The service I received from EDB was fantastic. After order they contacted me to explain the situation (the manufacturer had a 4 week delay) and asked if I was happy to wait or if I wanted to cancel. I said I was happy to wait. We're redoing our bathroom and the parts in the finish we want are seemingly very hard to find or ridiculously expensive. EDB managed to source a part for me, directly from the manufacturer, even though they don't yet carry it. Adding it to my initial order to save me some postage fees. They were communicative during the order and even though it arrived a little later than planned, but in time to fit I should add, they kept me updated with little to no prompting from myself. The parts that arrived are of exceptional quality and our plumber was very impressed with them and the price. So yeah, should we ever have to refurb our bathroom again (I hope we don't to be honest) they'll be the first site I start to look on. Many thanks Alistair
