I purchased a used Martin. Spending over £2000 on an 18 year old guitar during lockdown and buying unseen, you need to be able to trust the company you're dealing with. Guitar Village didn't disappoint. I spoke to Sam on the phone. He grabbed the guitar in question and answered all my queries. The guitar was sent with UPS and well packaged. An inspection card was included which lists all of the pertinent information that a player is going to want/need to know. I was really pleased about this. It was fitted with brand new strings, and had even remained in tune throughout its journey. The guitar is in even better condition than it looked in the high quality photos on their website. Overall this was a perfect buying experience. I would not hesitate to buy another used guitar from Guitar Village.

Bought a Guild acoustic online. Rang the store beforehand and received really good advice on what guitar to pick taking into account my budget. Guitar arrived speedily and really pleased with it. Felt like a personal service despite current lockdown restrictions and look forward to visiting the shop when it reopens to the public.
Received product in fabulous condition, earlier than expected, and they went above and beyond by setting up/quality checking the guitar before sending it off.

excellent communications from Sam and Chris, was enquiring about a J45 but went with a 000 28. Delivery was very quick to the highlands of Scotland. Guitar actually arrived a day earlier than scheduled, this worked out better for me. Out of the box the guitar played perfect, the post sale set up that GV does was spot on. Will be using guitar village again for any guitar purchases that I will be making in the future, in my opinion they are a first class retailer. Donald
A little mix up re delivery time, in light of covid situation at moment, best to place order on a Monday; avoid Fridays as goods need time be checked then packed. Goods were v well packed in bubble wrap and air cushion: around mandolin and then around case. Just as well since one corner of cardboard packing box crushed inwards during transit! Condition of mandolin (70's Epiphone) rated as VG+; overall a fair assessment given the age of the mandolin. As you would expect with instrument of this age: some play/sticking of original tuners / case a bit worn / slope on fretboard high frets. Pleased to receive the instrument with good strings, tuned up, and bridge intonation set correctly. Very playable with good tone up to 12th or 13th fret after which slope on fretboard makes remaining higher frets not playable (but OK). Neck straight, no twist.
Very impressed with the service. I ordered the amp at midnight on Tuesday and it arrived before noon on Thursday. That's Amazon levels of speediness right there without funding a morally dubious multinational congolmerate. It was very securely packed too, and although I bought second hand, the condition is excellent. Nice one!

A recent order from them was handled brilliantly, despite the restrictions of COVID, the lockdown and ordering across 4 timezones. The communication was good, the website worked well (with the exception that you can't put in a different delivery address to the registered one for your account, a useful feature for someone who lives abroad) and the range of products is second to none. In my particular circumstances, a gift voucher scheme might also be a good idea, as it is easy to send this from abroad. However, they are an excellent business to deal with and their real strength is that customers are not just customers, but fellow musicians.
Great service from Guitar Village but slight reservations about UPS who they engaged to deliver the guitar.- I ordered the guitar on 1st January & expected a slight delay in their "next day delivery" due to the holidays. The Guitar Village website told me to expect delivery on 5th January, but when UPS received the guitar on 4/1/21 I received an email notification stating delivery would be on 6/1/21. After ensuring someone would be at home to receive the delivery on 6/1/21 I later checked the tracking data and could see from it's location that the Guitar might be delivered on 5th, although there was no change in the delivery information. It was delivered on 5th without advance notification and fortunately someone was at home to receive it.
Fantastic customer service. Communication throughout the process was great and they provided a free pro setup service as part of the purchase that you don't get from many online guitar retailers.
