Apr 08,2025Our Solicitor Claire Boardman JMW Manchester My late husband had suffered many symptoms and showed red flags of pancreatic cancer for over 2 years . He was dismissed on several occasions by GP's in his surgery.By the time he was diagnosed the cancer had spread from his pancreas to his liver and lungs .He died 5 weeks and 6 days after he was finally diagnosed with no option of any treatment. With an earlier diagnosis Dave could have had treatment and would have lived significantly longer than he did and had a very different end of life journey. We knew Dave had been badly let down. I contacted Claire Boardman a medical negligence solicitor at JMW. Right from the start ,Claire was honest explaining that cancer case's are very complicated ,especially Pancreatic cancer which is a terminal cancer often presenting at a late stage of the illness. However Claire agreed to look at our case ,after reading Dave's medical notes and talking to me Claire agreed to take our clinical negligence case. Our case has finally been settled out of court after 4 years and 3 months. Our case took over 4 years due to the endless moving of deadlines by the NHS. From the start Claire was CARING,PATIENT, HONEST and most of all DETERMINED .The NHS issued total denials all the way ,so Claire arranged for expert medical witnesses and a Barrister as she was prepared to go to court with our case. As I mentioned after over 4 years the NHS has settled our case out of court (without liability). It has been an incredibly hard ,emotional and stressful process made bearable by Claire and her team . For the NHS to settle out of court ,we feel is an acknowledgement of how let down Dave was and given our family some closure. I would like to thank Claire and her team for believing in us right from the start and never giving up .

They were supportive and professional throughout my first experience with the legal system (an unusual and minor traffic case), patiently guiding me over a long and frustrating process. Ultimately, I got the outcome I was hoping for and they even helped me recoup some of my costs via a Defendant's Cost Order. Although I was based in London and thus the process was largely handled remotely, it felt seamless. It’s important to note that among all the (mostly London-based) legal professionals I contacted prior to proceeding with my case, I chose Patrick and JMW specifically because he was by far the most encouraging and empathetic. I would not hesitate to recommend the outstanding legal services provided by JMW. Thanks again!

Apr 07,2025I would like to thank Phillip Barlow for their excellent work, professionalism and understanding, especially on those occasions when I must have asked what could have been construed as silly questions. At a time when things were complicated for myself whilst reviewing my case he made everything more understandable. I hoped for total support from JMW when I instructed them, I got that and more. I would highly recommend JMW and in particular Phillip Barlow would definitely use them again in the future.

After receiving advice from members of staff from the hospital I took it upon myself to get in touch with a specialist solicitor in this field, and this is where I met Mrs Katie Nolan.
