As a result of a blockage we were unable to use our toilets, run water and it affected our boiler. Metro Rod were called and an operative named Mark attended our property in Crickhowell, Wales. I can’t praise Mark high enough, cheerful, polite and efficient, what more could one ask? Thank you very much Mark, much appreciated. I would certainly recommend and use this company again.

Excellent service provided by the Southampton team. Two toilets, both drains blocked (one we had been ignoring for some time) and the operative discovered roots as the issue. Having to call in some colleagues to help with some tools, job done and for the amount they had originally quoted to unblock. I'll certainly use again ;-)

Blocked drain running down the side of the house, turned out to be a piece of pipework lodged in it as well as blockage. Chris from metro rod Dorset did a thorough job of clearing it all out and removing the offending article. Very happy with work performed, would use again.

Called them through AA emergency policy to fix small leak from toilet on 27th Dec 2019. Metro rod employee came. Tried to fix. Huge release of water which went everywhere. Didn't fix. Left appalling mess. Didn't tell me he tried to clear up with toilet paper. Aaargh!!! 2 hrs later water came through ceiling as a result of his incompetence. 2nd employee came said 1st had put part on wrongly & took photos of wet ceilling damage. But when made complaint to AXA who cover Home Emergency policy, both employees lied on their statements even though I had witnesses & am appalled. Taken to financial complaints ombudsman. 5/03- I would add that that my complaint was investigated by AXA & I am grateful that Metrorod have now invited me to contact them direct, Thank you I will be doing this- I did. See below. If I could give them a minus number I would. Update: 09/08/20 Metrorod said they would look into the damage caused by their employee as stated above. But I am even more disappointed that having taken the time to send them my complaint they have made no effort to contact me further or to put this right. My ceiling remains damaged & it is sad that they have not taken any responsibility for the damage caused. I would therefore state categorically, donot use them or any policy that uses them as a contractor. The cost of putting the damage right was less than £200! That says it all.

With less than 24 hours notice, Ben and Si from Metro Rod came out to our house last week to unblock our drain. They worked really hard for over two hours, with smiles on their faces the whole time. They were very polite and got the job done with no fuss at all. When they left we went outside and they'd cleaned our driveway up to a better standard than before they came! Really happy and will definitely use again. Laura

Never gave up. first guy turned up and couldn't fix the blockage due to concerns of doing more damage. However another guy soon once established there was no concern JOB DONE. Excellent service and obviously care about their customers... Cheers again Dave and Chris

Absolutely Abysmal, from beginning to end. Brought in as a third party plumber under my Landlord Insurance to repair a (single) tap. 1st visit: (Thurs) wouldn't deal with the issue as they wouldn't remove the bath panel. 2nd visit: (Fri) requested I purchased new taps. 3rd visit (Tues) (5 days later) couldn't remove the old tap and suggested to my tenants I put in a new bath !!! Staff don't work over weekends either, plumbing emergencies don't always happen between Mon to Friday.

Metro Rod came out within 3 hours to unblock a foul water sewer on Christmas Day. Lee from the company gave a very professional and efficient service. I would highly recommend Lee if you have a similar issue.

Unfortunately these are the contractors my council use for emergency call outs on their properties! Came out Saturday evening to unblock my toilet, I’ve had problems with it since I moved in in September! Friday/Saturday the problem got so bad we couldn’t use our ONLY toilet, metro rod couldn’t clear the blockage and said they’d come back Monday morning with a different machine... Sunday morning I discover toilet was leaking and hadn’t been bolted back down properly, so now I not only can’t use my toilet it’s pouring water all over my bathroom floor! Monday morning has now been and gone without anyone coming to my house!!

Had a small leak coming from the shower dripping through the walls downstairs. Was told by one of their plumbers that they would need to rip the base of the shower up to see if the pipe was there. If it wasn’t there he would then have to rip the floor up to see if it’s there. Which would cost £120 per hour. Instead I got a friend round a day later who wasn’t around at the time of this problem. He pulled the faucet off and capped the pipes. 20 minute job. So the plumber they sent out either couldn’t be bothered or didn’t realise you could cap the shower off by doing what my friend done.

Please read and avoid this company at all cost. I am making an effort to write this because I do not want anyone to be treated the same way. Disgusting company!! These lot will do anything and everything to ensure they don't pay out or find a loophole not to carry out the repair. Apologies for the long story but it's important that everyone knows what happened.... I had a leak couple weeks ago and telephoned them through my home emergency cover, they sent a plumber round who couldn't see the leak so advised me to get my own plumber to do a trace and access as i'm not covered for that under my policy. Which I did and cost me £120 I then advised them of the problem and they sent another plumber round to do the repair. This plumber then refused to complete the repair on another technicality. Apparently now i'm not covered because I have multiple toilets! I mean these lot will do anything to make your claim or repair void. He left my toilet unattached and left. My father had a stroke 6 months ago so he is unable to climb stairs to use the toilet upstairs so I was forced to get a plumber in the evening to do the repair. The whole experience was stressful and infuriating. When the plumber left I telephoned the team and a manager returned my call who was shocking. His attitude and mannerism was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I was shocked that he was a manager, he took no ownership of the situation and the fact that I was incorrectly advised the whole time, no apology at all. I will never use Metro Plumb ever again!

Unfortunately the communication was poor from metrorod. They sent out an engineer which was chosen by our home insurance. The engineer said that the conditions were too dark for him to sort out the issue and he would come back tomorrow. We called back the day after to see what the situation was and they said that it would require two people for the job and the cost of the job would equate to £378. We requested to put the job on hold because we thought the cost was very high and the engineer didn't tell us what the actual issue was. However, metrorod haven't tried to contact us to update us on the situation and we managed to get another company via our bank insurance who remedied the issue after 40 minutes on site. The engineer was quick and honest. He quoted the job to cost around £180 but this was covered by our policy.
