Jul 30,2019WIGAN office Communication bad - VERY EXPENSIVE - Phoned Metrod rod for a simple blocked drain which I anticipated would be £ 70 -£ 100 job (I am a landlord). The guy arrived, and then announced it was 2 man job because he had to climb a ladder to get over a garage ! 3-4 hours later he arrived and they wanted to charge me £ 375 PLUS VAT !!!!! This is a massive rip off ! Do NOT USE THEM. After much back and forth the charges were dropped to £ 225 PLUS VAT !

Jul 26,2019The engineer who called last week was aware of my deafness. When he re attended to carry out a CCTV survey he rang the bell which I did not hear. I saw him sitting in his van so I went out to see him. He told me my job was cancelled as it would be down as a no show. He refused to do the work as the job had been closed down on the computer. I know he is leaving the company as he told me last week. So I just think he wanted an early finish.

Jul 19,2019Tom Emberton from Metro Rod has recently carried out a CCTV inspection of the drains at my home address. I found Tom to be very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Tom was very thorough and took the time to explain his findings to me and also allowed me to view the CCTV footage. I found Tom to be very personable and would not hesitate to use Metro Rod again in the future.

Jun 27,2019Had a blocked shower for more than a month with other contractor advising me to rip off the vinyl to remove the waste trap and Kevin and Steve unblocked it in 30min. Same happened with kitchen sink that was affecting the washing machine and it seems all good. Big thanks to Kevin and Steve for the wonderful job.

Jun 25,2019My husband and i are in the process of purchasing a property for our retirement and following a survey on the property we had to get the drains checked. My husband rang Metro Rod who arranged a prompt survey to be carried out. The engineer who attended was polite, very thorough and efficient. Jun 23,2019Ben smith and Dan came to my place of work to investigate drains, couldnt find blockage so have advised company to have further investigation using smoke detectors. Jun 13,2019Guy who turned up to do camera test was very nice, but jobsworth. Paid for 2 hours to do camera test, done in less than 1 hour and found minor blockage (seal loose in drain). Asked him to remove seal but would not as this was not on his job sheet only booked for camera survey for 2 hours, and removing the seal would be another job!!! Completed survey and sat in his van for one hour killing time for his next appointment? JOBWORTH policy form MetroRod to rip-off customers

The person who attended my blocked soil pipe mistakenly released the valve on the pipe itself resulting in the raw sewage bursting forth all over himself and the entire contents of my garage. He had already said that he knew not to touch it due to pressure inside but then did so anyway. No warning, no attempt to sheet up to minimise any damage. Caused a lot of damage to personal items and more than 4 hours to clear up. Metro Rod have denied any wrong doing.

Jun 05,2019Just had an engineer from Metro Plumb (Scot) come to sort out a leak. Scot was polite, quick and very knowlegdable. He sorted out the problem by replacing the damaged connecter very quickly. Only 4 stars as the back office were very difficult to get hold and slow to sort.

Mar 15,2019Rung 6:30pm to welsh water with blocked drain. Had several phonecalls from Metrorod updating me on timescale of the engineers arrival. Came earlier then expected cleared problem within 15 min was very quick and professional. Come 9:30 pm problem fixed. Very speedy highly recommend

Feb 25,2019Friday 15th - 13:00 - we’ll be there in 4 hours… never turned up. job re-scheduled for 9:30am Monday Monday 18th: 09:30 - we’ll be there lunchtime… never turned up Monday 18th: 15:00 - arrived! Couldn’t fix the problem with the plunger (and your insurance doesn’t cover it – surprise surprise). Need to come back tomorrow. £90 per hour. Job scheduled between 12 and 5 Tuesday 19th: 15:00 - be more like 5 Tuesday 19th: 17:00 - be more like 6 Tuesday 19th: 18:00 - we’re honestly just about to leave… I cancelled the job. Will be interesting to see if they even read this or just put the standard 'contact compliance'' response and 'no' I won't be wasting more of my time doing that! Have you noticed that every 1 star review is followed by a 5 star review - that's not suspicious at all is it. Things they should do: Narrower, more honest, estimates of when an engineer is likely to arrive Immediate update if that changes for any reason Proactive management of the customer’s expectation – don’t let US have to phone YOU! Consistent efforts to exceed those expectations
