I feel minisforum is dishonest and untrusted. My item finally after many headaches was shipped but minisforum charged a TAX of over $129 USD, which for shipping to canada usually has no tax when you buy as I managed many items from china or HK in the past and paid no taxes. Anyway I thought the tax was to cover the birder tax and all the charges that come up when shipping to me. But no I had to pay border tax of over $30CAD to the carrier. I feel I am cheated and minisforum steals from its customers. So I do not recommend them.
WARNING. DO NOT BUY MINISFORUM MINIPC. Bought a UN1290 and have no bluetooth. Updated driver 4 different times. Then the machine once restarted drops out sound through HDMI output. Have to pull plug and reinsert and up it pops recognizing system and no problem until restart. Should have looked up here first. Lesson learnt but 720 bucks ffs. Cant find anywhere to contact them. Got a reply from them after writing this review (same as a lot of reviews about them as I see no but nothing happens ) and I cant leave my email address here either. What a shitfight.
I recently participated in a pre-sale on the Minisforum UK site and am thoroughly impressed. Recommended by a friend who previously bought a mini PC from them, I purchased the UM890 Pro (AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS CPU, 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD) and the DEG1 eGPU dock, saving £50. I also added the MM A01 wireless mouse for £0.01. The prices, discounts, and prompt communication have been amazing, with timely updates on my order status and shipping dates. This excellent service gives me confidence that the UM890 Pro will exceed my expectations. Kudos to Minisforum!
I bought a UM690S directly from Minisforum around end of November 2023 as a part of pre-order. Machine worked perfectly till 07/04/2024. I noticed the USB 4.0 transfer speed was really slow( 37 mb/s) so started looking for resolutions. Saw a bios update was available for the device, and applied it. Around halfway through the update the device crashed and won't start anymore. Contacting support is extremely difficult, I would say impossible from what I have seen. Sent an email to support and no response so far. Not even an automated acknowledgement of email receipt. Some folks in reddit said to contact support using discord and that did not work either. There is a Skype link floating around in reddit which gets you nowhere. So in closing, beware that support for this device is pretty much nonexistent. They put out Bios updates that will brick the device. I have a $375 paperweight sitting on my desk. To add insult to injury, I gave away my old laptop after this device worked good for a couple months so now I am left to using my phone for everything, while I scramble for a replacement. =====Update Aug 2024===== Since the device was under warrenty, the manufacturer replaced it. However, the problem why this mess started still exists. USB4.0 speeds are quite slow, and Thunderbolt devices do not recognize the um690s USB4.0 port as Thunderbolt supporting port. Here's what I am trying to do. Use a Nvidia 4060 Ti plugged in a Sonnet 750ex egpu enclosure to connect to the um690s using USB4.0. This was one of the highlights of the um690s when it was launched. I bought it because of that, which now looks like might have been false advertisement. My original um690s had that issue, so I started looking for a solution, found a firmware update on Minisforum site which bricked the device. Now the replacement device has the same USB4.0 issues, which means it's either a firmware issue or worse, there is a hardware bug that these devices ship with. So as of now anyone looking to use the device with an egpu case connecting to the USB4.0 on the um690s, look somewhere else. Here's the really messed up part. When the first 690s broke, I realized I did not have a backup computer, so I got a um790 pro as backup. That ones got similar issues. I'll be putting up an extensive review on that soon. I spent almost $1400 on both devices, the ssd drives, sodimms etc for a whole lot of headache. =======Update Aug 21, 2024====== Customer service reached out, said their engineers were working on a solution. They asked a few questions that have already been answered. After a couple weeks of back and forth, they are now blaming the egpu case, asking me to contact Sonnet. The Sonnet is plug and play, and it works seamlessly with a lenovo laptop. So the saga continues, Minisforum support is terrible. Just sounding chirpy in the email without doing anything.
Bought a UM690 Oct 2023 with 32GB and 1TB SSD. All seemed fine for a couple months but I noticed machine running hot (110C+) when almost nothing running. Then I had a number of system freezes, requiring reboot. Then I could not reboot or startup Windows or get into the bios. I reported the issue to Minisforum and although slow to respond, Minisforum asked for the machine to be returned and they sent a brand new replacement from HK, with no questions asked. Replacement machine is much better and is running perfectly. So I am pleased with the service level provided for a company that does not assemble in, and ship from, the UK. The UM690 is a great performer and seems well built, so I hope the first was just a glitch. Thanks to Minisforum for responding positively to my service requests.
Also, any questions I had during setup were answered promptly. I'll make the most of it as my main PC!!
Had my new UM690S Ryzan9 now for just over a week and have been extremely happy with it. As an IT company director I've had a fair number of desktops and this well designed unit gets full marks for quality and innovation as they always seem to be one step ahead of the competition with the processors and memory being used.
I pre ordered a minisforum V3 which had a dispatch date of the end of May, I needed it shortly after that for doing a course, the item didnt actually leave China until the middle of june. Item is actually really good and exactly what I was after and I expected it to be. The real problem came that before mine even arrived they did a £100 discount because it was their 4th birthday, I did speak to a customer service rep who offered me £40 refund as my order came with some extra preorder free items which I was grateful for, although 2 days later they changed the offer to £100 and all the preorder items I received and now the offer is £150 off. I haven't had my refund yet and it's been 2 weeks. I will say the customer service person was very good and very professional. I am very happy with the product just not happy preordering only for better prices to become available before and shortly after I received my order.
Minisforumにしたので、同じような製品が沢山あるなかで、2年サポートがあったところです。3年サポートのところもありましたが、ほしい製品は売り切れていました。価格的にも、サポート保証期間的にも、この製品はとてもいいと思っています。どの物理ポートも正しく動作しますし、音も静かです。現在Proxmoxを入れて仮想OSを4台動作させ続けていますがうまく動いていると思います。 ライセンス、ログイン問題などいくつかサポートにメール差し上げていますが、すべて即日解決になる回答いただけるようなレスポンスの速さに驚いています。 機器が来るまでに一週間以上かかったのでそれだけは心配になりましたので、それ以外は何ら問題ないのではないでしょうか。

Ich habe mir bei Minisforum EU am 11.06.2024 einen Elite Mini UM780 XTX bestellt. Bezahlt habe ich über PayPal. Am 14.06. bekam ich einen Link mit der Paketnummer, der mich zur DHL-Seite geleitet hat. Dort war die Sendung elektronisch angekündigt. Am 18.06. wurde die Sendung vom Absender in der Filiale eingeliefert, und am 19.06. wurde sie mir erfolgreich zugestellt. Alles verlief reibungslos. und ich bin sehr zufrieden. Der Mini-PC funktioniert einwandfrei.
V3タブレットのキーボードのファームウェアをMinisfourmのダウンロードサイトからインストールしたところ、何故かキーボードが動かなくなってしまいました。 どうしたものかと悩んた末、サポートにメールしたら、2日ほどで修正用のアップデートファイルを送ってもらい、不具合が解消しました。 直接、実行ファイルをメールで送りつけられたのにはビックリしましたが、相談から2日で修正ツールを作ってくれたフットワークの軽さがありがたかったです。 職場でタブレットPCを買うときは、是非、こちらで買いたいと感じた出来事でした。
I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the Minisforum brand, specifically regarding their UM790 Pro model. I purchased this mini computer with high expectations, considering its impressive specifications of 64GB RAM and 1TB of NVMe storage. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. From the moment I started using the UM790 Pro, it has been plagued with constant system freezes and unexpected reboots. Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues, including complete system reformatting, changing the operating system, and updating the BIOS, the problems persist. The only temporary solution I have found is to remove one of the RAM sticks, leaving the system with just 32GB of RAM. This is far from acceptable, considering I paid for a 64GB system. My case is not an isolated incident. A brief search on internet forums reveals that many others have encountered the same issues with this model. This widespread problem suggests a fundamental flaw in the design or manufacturing process of the UM790 Pro. To make matters worse, my attempts to seek support from Minisforum have been met with indifference. Since I purchased the product through a reseller on AliExpress and not directly from their website, the company's customer service has completely ignored my requests for assistance. This lack of support is unacceptable and further highlights the unreliability of the Minisforum brand. In conclusion, I strongly advise against purchasing Minisforum products. The UM790 Pro, despite its promising specifications, has proven to be unreliable and defective. The company's poor customer service only exacerbates the issue. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a mini computer. Minisforum has proven to be an untrustworthy brand in my experience.
Minisforum V3 is an amazing machine! Been running Linux (Fedora out of the box) and daily driving for one Month. This Tablet does not disappoint! This is the 3rd PC I've purchased from Minisforum. They have been very solid computers with a very budget friendly price.
Went wrong after just 18 months. No warranty. Have emailed them a couple of times in different ways and as yet no reply as to what to do or how we can solve is issues. Poor after sales service and not impressed with the unit itself only lasting a year and a half!! Had my Mac mini for 10 years before it gave up.
Minisforum sell the Motherboard bd790i, with differents problem! The Bios reset when missing power, and the heatsink is very bad, the cpu temperature in single-core are over 90degrees. For a product that cost 600 euros is very ridicolous!
Atrocious support. My mini PC slowly started breaking down. I returned it for a replacement, but now, several weeks later, I'm still without a replacement and my emails are being ignored.
Ich würde eigentlich 0 Sterne geben aber das ist leider nicht möglich. Ich habe ein MS-01 bestellt und warte nun schon seit über 2 Monaten auf meine Bestellung. Die Kommunikation muss immer vom Kunden kommen, auf der Webseite steht zwar wann sie etwas verschicken nur halten sie sich nicht daran. Nach mehrmaligem nachfragen wird einem dann gesagt das es zuerst an eine andere stelle verschickt wird und dann über eine andere Firma verschickt wird. Auf Nachfragen seitens Kunden wird man vertröstet und es passiert dann doch nichts. Leere Versprechungen bezüglich Lieferdatum werden gegeben und das Produkt wird dann doch nicht verschickt. Bis jetzt habe ich weder mein Geld zurück erhalten noch das Bestellte MS-01. Ich kann nur jedem raten, bestellt nicht bei Minisforum auch wenn die Produkte gut aussehen und ev. auch gut sind.
I was one of the first adopters of their UM790 Pro and was unfortunate to get a bad AMD chipset reference design. After a number of trials and research, I found out about the bad reference design and contacted Minisforum to request an RMA because of this. They quickly and easily accepted my RMA request and I was able to get a new unit a month after we started exchanging e-mails.

Jul 18,2024Terrible experience with NAB9. My NAB9 died after 2 months, contacting the support they invited me to send it to Germany for a product change, this costs me 40 Euro of shipment. The package was delivered to the right address in 2 days( confirmed by tracking) but they say its never arrived to the destination. Its ridicolous! i dont know what will happens now with my Mini pc but a thing im sure, i will never buy Minis Forum again. EDIT Today i got my new Nab9, Minis Forum kept the promise to sent me a new unit. I very apprecciate the support in these last days and the way they behaved. A big thanks to Lydia. Hope the new unit will work well and hope they solved the problems.
