Like so many have said, the mini pc from Minisforum won't turn back on once you turn it off. It is as if they did not do any quality checks before shipping. For now, mine can be reset and will turn on again but how long will that method work. I contacted their "support" several weeks ago via email and attempted to contact them through Amazon and have received no reply.
Bought an EM680 32+1TB for $420. Things are perfect until I went too greedy and flash the bios from 0.16 to 2.17. The bios flash was unsuccessful ( perhaps the power went off during the flash? not sure why since I wasn't looking at my PC during the flashing...) so the PC is soft-bricked. I contact the customer support, after they are back from vacation, they quickly responded to me. Once confirmed that my EM680 is not fixable, they started the replacement process. I shipped it to their US warehouse, and they ship a new one to me immediately.
25/03/2024: Nice, 3 days and still no reboot! This is the minipc I was expecting. I can definitely recommend now. I am planning to buy more from them, will upgrade to 5 stars if everything goes well. 22/03/2024: Was able to get a RMA from minisforum. So far so good, will upgrade to positive review if the box doesn't reboot for few days. 14/03/2024: Bought um790 pro, first version. It keeps rebooting due to a know hardware bug (bad reference board from AMD, copy/pasted by minisforum without thinking). RMA is a huge hassle. Do not buy any product from them if you want quality and reliability.... Or just basic support.
Great Service and Support also what made it so special was the speed of the reply .. Thank You Mark Rose
I had bought UM780xtx originally, The 780m igpu can run any game at 1080p. It even have oculink port for dedicate gpu like Nvidia. It has lots of performance with its small size. They used liquid thermal paste which is new for mini pc manufacture. I checked a cpu contact. They used kapton tape to protect SMD component, so it is safe to use. It has great contact with heatsink specially design for this machine. I thought they fix all cons in UM790pro with this machine. I move UM780xtx to my bedroom and notice that it use blower fan to cool heat sink. I notice that it has a high pitch sound. I didn't like it, so I sent it back for a replacement. I confirm with them that I want an other product which is BD790i. They agree and it took about 3 weeks. For BD790i, it has ryzen 9 7945hx which is a 7950x repurposed for laptop. It has 16 cores 32 thread and have 55w TDP. It has 20% drop performance from 7950x but use only half of TDP. It well suit for Mini-ITX cases. It also has unlocked multiplier, DDR5-5200 sodimm 2 slots ram and PCIE5 x16 for desktop gpu. I used it as my main computer. This chips is most powerful for desktop chip of 2023, so it need a better cooling solution. The default thermal paste is a silicone, from what I experience direct die chip should easily go for liquid thermal paste. If anyone curious, the heat sink is copper based. I clean it up and switch to conductonunt extreme. I also use Noctua A12x25 chromax for CPU fan. My idle temperature is 53°c up to 75°c when running games. It looks perfect for fractal terra, I used it with 3080 tuf and sf750 combo. It's on sale for $519 with precaution that delivery could take long time, bios need update from MF for latest AGESA, support is mainly through email and I recommend changing thermal paste with technician because it could ruin your whole motherboard. They have potential for a start-up OEM. They have very good practice with RMA. Definitely worth a try if you could wait.
I bought a UM780 XTX and was very impressed with the power of this small pc. Unfortunately, the power button stopped working after a few weeks. With a couple of emails and some pictures of the pc, Minisforum replaced the pc with a new one, no problem. I'm as happy with the service I received as I am with the pc.
I bought a PC which had an intermittent fault. Staff helped me troubleshoot and made sure I was happy in the end: great service, thank you.
Ordered a UM790 on 15th Feb, it's the 5th March and still hasn't shipped. Was not shown as out of stock when I ordered.
I had to return a UM790 mini-PC. Minisforum responded quickly and shipped a replacement quickly, i.e., within three business days. Every OEM has some amount of returns, the issue is communication and speed of processing. Even though the original unit was shipped from Hong Kong, the return was handled by the warehouse in Texas, so it was much faster and cheaper. I would buy another Minisforum computer. Update: Trustpilot has asked me to confirm some details. Note that I live only 45 miles away from the Minisforum warehouse in Texas, so shipping was inexpensive and fast. Nonetheless, they *initiated* the shipping three business days after receiving my returned PC, which I think was pretty good. It all probably went smoothly because I provided lots of details about firmware version, error messages, things I tried to fix the problems, etc. when I sent my first email to them requesting an exchange, so there wasn't a lot of back-and-forth Q&A and testing that was necessary.
I purchased a high-spec mini PC, but immediately after purchasing it, I was plagued with sudden shutdowns. Unable to determine the cause of the problem, we communicated with the support team numerous times. After nearly a year of repeated communication, we discovered that the problem was with the AC power supply. During that time, the AC power supply worked and stopped on a whim, but as of now, it has completely failed and stopped working. It is unfortunate that it took almost a year to resolve the problem, but thanks to the support staff, we were able to identify the cause. They then sent me a replacement AC power supply and the problem was resolved. The support contact person was courteous, excellent, and very helpful.
I'm quite fond of the PC's compact size. it includes both a stand and a VESA mount. Primarily, I use it for casual gaming, and appreciate its ability to maintain safe temperatures under heavy load while producing minimal fan noise. The fact that it's upgradeable for memory and a 2.5" SSD is a plus. I'd highly recommend this energy-efficient, small-form-factor computer to anyone in need
This PC offers exceptional performance with minimal noise. Equipped with Crucial DDR5 and Kingston Gen 4 NVMe, it delivers smooth operation. It effortlessly handles most games at 1080p resolution with the highest settings.
Great value for the price, with additional features like space for a slim 2.5"SATA HDD.
I bought a UM690 without RAM and SSD but faced issues like loud fan noise and occasional boot failures. Despite not reaching out to customer support immediately, after six months, the PC stopped working entirely. Despite initial doubts about customer service, I had a positive experience. Lydia from support was particularly helpful. The replacement unit I received was quieter and faster, performing impressively for its size. While not ideal for high-end-gaming, it handles most tasks well. Overall, I'm satisfied with its performance, size, price, and customer support. Highly recommended.
Bought a UM790 Pro barebones. Shipping and setup worked fine. Really nice hardware for the price. +5 months later the tiny fan in the computer started sounding really loud. Recorded it and made a case with the support who sent me a new fan under warranty, speedy handling! It is possible to run the minipc without the fan if you're not stressing the CPU heavily. A really good buy, one minus the lack of quality fan. That's the only issue I had with the UM790 Pro since I got it installed. Warmly recommend Minisforum.
This motherboard boasts an impressive 96GB RAM capacity, along with a PCI-Express slot that seamlessly works with PCI-e riser ribbons. Additionally, the removable WIFI chip offers enhanced security through its UEFI password protection feature. While the integrated graphics processor (IGPU/APU) is commendable for its low power consumption, user with windows 11 might encounter sound driver issues. Although my window 10 setup functioned flawlessly, a driver CD seems necessary for windows 11 compatibility, as the manufacture's website appears inaccessible from the US.
I purchased this motherboard for my son's shoebox computer intended for gaming. The motherboard performed excellently, although we encountered a slight hiccup with the RAM compatibility, as it required laptop RAM, a detail not explicitly mentioned in the product description.
What makes a great company is both the product AND the support. The product I bought was defective with a well documented issue, and as much as I tried to troubleshoot it I couldn't fix it without detracting significantly from the performance. I understand that these things happen, it was a brand new, cutting edge, high performance mini computer, so as long as they do right and fix it it's fine. A quick email exchange with support and they sent me instructions for a replacement, and it's now running even better than when I first bought it.
Got my Hx77g,cheaper than hx99g but works great .had a little problem with the adapter but after few email they sent a new one .happy with my experience

Mar 17,2024Constant blue screen of death critical shut downs since new . All cmd scans , restore , mem scan , even full windows 11 re install have failed to stop these BSOD nightmares. These happen with all external hardware disconnected as well. Support chat simply useless and cut me off . Days and days of endless problems and running useless ‘fixes’ . It’s unfit for purpose .
