Do not sign up to this scam of a get healthy and lose weight program! Its a total waste of money and time! Heart Smart Australia has nothing to do with The Heart Foundation, which I assumed wrongly. I was emotionally manipulated and pressured by the sales person on a zoom call, into signing up for a whole year, who asked for the money upfront and when I said just over $6K was more than I could afford, he offered weekly direct debits from my account of $117. A week later when I lost my job unexpectedly, I contacted customer support to kindly request a suspension of my membership, they allowed me only one month of not having to pay and would add a month to my year old payment plan. As the weeks went by, I noticed that I was not getting any value out of my fortnightly 20 minute calls with my dietitian, all he spoke about the obvious things about low fat food and losing weight that I already knew! A total waste of my time! So I decided to ask for a refund and a cancellation with Customer Support about 4 weeks into the program, which was refused. After speaking with a call centre representative in the Philippines, I was finally allowed out of this scamming program with a huge $2,000 cancellation fee! Its been a total waste of my hard earned money and my valuable time! I have not lost any weight and learned nothing new of any value by participating in this 'sad excuse' of a 'so called get healthy' program promising to help us lose weight. Start Date: March 2024 Weight Lost: My weight has stayed the same
I got sucked into this via ‘Heartsmart’. Marketed like a community education program, and then you get pressured to commit on the spot to a massive financial commitment with no room to consider the financial impact or discuss with your partner etc. there’s a reason- if I have a day to think about it I never would have opted in. Check out Facebook - so many people saying the same thing. They are preying on people trying to find solutions to high cholesterol, you have to sign up in the moment, and then the support is… ok… but not worth the $$. I have plenty of regret. Don’t make the same mistake!
I think I got some really useful tools to handle my food addiction. The regular two weekly dieticians check ins were definitely 80 % of this. But I didn’t get what I thought I’d get, someone to look at my stats, blood tests, listen to me, look at my food diaries and come to a conclusion why I have got overweight and work out a path to reverse that, most important or what I could manage first. I expected a DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT PLAN, so I had what I needed, instead of or working out what I needed for myself from the mass of information available. Instead, I had to pick up pieces myself, from Facebook chats, podcasts, bi weekly dietician consults. So at the END of 6 months, I have most of whats needed, instead of a program being worked out at the start & adapting where I slipped along the way. Lost 5 kg of a needed 30 during the program. I know I will lose more with what I have been goven but feel I wasted 5 months . Blood tests supplied, I don’t think anyone looked at them.
Overpriced information you can get free on the internet. Don't be fooled by the pushy sales consultant. The Dietitian calls are not woth it and they dont offer any coaching, even though they claim its personalized to the individual. Everything is do it yourself, listen to videos. If you have signed up to payright BNPL product put in a compliant to them. Miygai"s program/product does not meet its own terms and conditions.
The material provided to get started is good, keeping it simple so that anyone can find it useful and informative. Read, learn and get support from the doctor, others on line and your nutritionist. They are there for you.
No really customisable and requires alot of online listening time - thus i did not view any videos or podcasts. Reinforced most things I knew, made no real adjustment for menopause. As a result lost no weight for a large cost.
my experience was a slow progression. i surprised myself when i didnt give up. i had a lot to change. my dietitian was very helpful and had some amazing ideas that i put these into my new eating plan. the most helpful aspect is the accountability. the weekly call was always on time, and very positive input was shared by me and Vanessa. i logged my progress and it was satisfying to see my results. not always, but that was fine. i am ready to step back into the real world without the zoom calls, and facebook input. but i have enjoyed the 6 months and find i have made amazing improvements on how i live my life in a more healthy way.
If paying over $900 per hour for a dietician is your thing than go for it. But once you hand over the money to the sales person (who will say what they need to say to get your money) you will never see it again. There are numerous complaints here about the sales techniques used. So be very sure. The $900 is calculated on a 20 minute call every 2 weeks --a total of 13 calls and therefore 4 hours and 20 minutes. Can you see a dietician for less than that--absolutely. The content is impressive and is so huge that most people do not fully engage with it. The Facebook group is primarily a venue for people to complain that invoices have not been sent to clients to claim on their health fund. Does it work--yes, if you can engage with the dietician and follow their advice. Is it worth the money? Absolutely not, you can find a cheaper dietician and many free resources.
My journey to remission was supported by a great program that strives to help people change their mental paradigms regarding diet, exercising and minimising the insidious impact that diabetes can have on lives. The support of the team, the education and the resources shared were outstanding and I do not believe my results would have been quite so good without the investment in this program.
I found it invaluable to be answerable to a dietician on a regular basis. The two ladies I worked with helped me refine my eating habits to drop my sugar intake, make better choices about what to eat between meals and the importance of creating regular walking habits to do the best thing for my heart. I achieved my goal of losing 5kgs - 1kg per month and my head is in the right place now to maintain this.
Miyagi program changed my outlook on life I started the program with my health being in such a bad way From the first phone call from my dietitian Munpreet I slowly started to put small changes to my eating habits I got to a balanced eating routine and with that my exercise routine improved as well The information I got from the many sources was very good I learned that I wasn’t dieting I was just eating in a more balanced way The benefits I have had from Miyagi have been so positive I did a table of the benefits I have had 1 - very bad to 10 extremely good Eating habits. Before 2. Now 7 Energy levels 2. 8 Fatigue. 2. 7 Fitness. 2. 6 Blood sugar. 9 to 10. 5.8 to 6.5 in morning Blood pressure. High. Normal I have lost 22kg so far I am confident I will continue on journey. Dietitian and I have talked about steps to take to stay accountable The biggest things for me has been feeling so well The complete opposite to before and I can now join in more activities and not get so tired as I did before The decision to do the Miyagi program has been one of the best decisions I have made for a while If you put the effort into the program you can get so much out
Great program concept and application….. if you are motivated, honest with yourself and do not start by thinking the program will lose weight and change habits for you. I found the program excellent, with weekly dietician catch ups and some great support for food choices, recognition of changes required and exercise programs. The program is chocked full of information and the dieticians are a great motivation to achieve results- whether that be weight loss, forming new habits, stopping old habits or providing yourself with opportunities for a healthy lifestyle. Yes, it is costly, but given the amount of 1:1 support and information, I think this is justified. Changes have to start from the individual and this program is perfect for those that recognise they need to change and are motivated to put the work into making themselves healthier. I highly recommend this for people who are keen to make a change!
I found having regular meetings with my dietitian, Gabby, very beneficial. As I tend to struggle with motivation they helped me to breakdown my program goals into more manageable short term goals making them less overwhelming. Gabby helped me to set realistic goals for each fortnight and I learnt to focus only on my objectives for the fortnight.
I completed my program around September ladt year and initially I regretted the amount of money that it cost but as I worked my way through and my thought processes, with the help of Hilary, it became a lot easier for me to understand where I needed to improve. For me it was actually eating better for breakfast and lunch but refining the amount of dinner and I lost 10kgs in the time I spent with Hilary. She was positive and insightful and helped me understand that nothing was bad or wrong. It’s not for everyone but if you really want to help yourself then it can work
Never give up!! I had a positive experience with Miyagi as I was enlightened through my Nutritionists Georgia and Grace of how to plan my meals. Also all the other benefits that they suggested along my journey. I still refer to my notes and to the resources that are still available to me. I enjoy the Facebook information and cooking tips now just a few more on air frying would help now as just got one for Christmas! Dr Ross" videos were informative and he is very knowledgeable and down to earth. I still have mountains to move but feel that I now have tools to help me with my goals. Wishing you all the very best in your own journey!
Although I didn't lose much weight, I have walked away from this program with extensive knowledge, not only into weight itself, but also my personal medical situation. Lisa was extremely patient, knowledgeable and invested. If I asked Lisa a question and she didn't know the answer, she'd research and get back to me. Having kidney stones for the last 13 years, I've learnt more from Lisa in a couple of weeks, than the doctors told me. Lisa gave me the space and time to really dig into my personal situation, doctors have never done that. Thank you Lisa for your professional and support through my journey
Well, I finished up my Diabetes Wellness program with my Dietitian, Bree, last week and must say I was a bit emotional! Bree has been a great guide and support these past 6 months or so and I've learned a lot, including how to make healthy dietary choices and healthy habits. I just have to learn to look at the small wins and not get overwhelmed by the bigger or longer-term picture. My main achievement was getting myself from the diabetes range to just under pre-diabetes range (Hba1c 6.8 to 5.9), now I just have to maintain my healthy habits to maintain that or hopefully lower it a bit further so I have more of a buffer. I've only lost 8 kg in 6 months which I was very patient about at first and have then become a bit frustrated I haven't progressed further or how long it will take to lose another 15-20kg to get back to a healthier weight range for my short 4'11.5" frame! However, Bree assures me this is a healthy rate of weight loss and is more likely to keep it off in the long term. I feel I am not as sluggish these days and I would even say I feel I have a tad more energy some days but working full-time, bookended by hour-long school runs each weekday (and kids' sports/music on the weekends) means I am generally tired and worn out most days! At least now I have a bit more energy to keep up with my kids. One of my goals for this program was to be around a bit longer for them. This program is not a quick fix and it's just setting me up for a lifetime of better choices. I know I'll continue to make slow and steady progress and will check in on the Facebook group now and then for support and to keep me on track. Thanks for being a great community 🙂
My Heart Smart Programme I found on Instagram, contacted the team. I was scrutinised and selected for this programme. I was under no pressure to join. It was my decision and I’m very pleased I did commit! From my experience I didn’t feel there was any pressure. My dietitian was select Mae W is her name. Each week we discuss our previously set goals, what positives and negatives happened ie eating too much sugar items or ate lots of fresh grilled fish, salad, had my snacks . My observation, because I am a morning person . I’m awake automatically at 4am it’s important to get up and move. I now do stretches legs, arms and back. I have fresh lemon juice hot water and stir a little natural Tasmanian Honey. I am still on the programme and I believe it is working for me in various departments. I’ll explain as best I can; 1.) it is Vital to have a Positive Midset 2.) Complete Commitment 3.) Discipline 4.) Follow the Process it’s in the Title of the App….. Healthy. We want to achieve a Healthy Outcome. 5.) The process of being Healthy then becomes your daily routine. 6.) The Psychology of the process is very interesting. With eating sensible foods, your behaviour changes significantly to the positive. Matters that in the past would upset you, don’t anymore. Because I believe my mind is clear to deal with any situation. You become Solution based V’s this is too difficult etc etc. ***** I am about 3 months into my Heart Smart Programme, I have lost weight gradually from 104kg to 95kg. I haven’t really tried too hard, just being Positive, the Right Mindset is Vital. I also believe drinking water from the moment you wake up is also critical. Hydration is another important focus. I did an experiment for myself just this past Monday. I left for work and immediately I was drinking water. This continued throughout my day till I came home. I felt I didn’t feel tired in the afternoon, probably I felt more alert. So to summarise and to be brutally honest, for me the Heart Smart Programme is working for me. I believe it’s brilliant! I also believe you must “connect” with positive people like my dietitian Mae W. Mae W has a wonderful way and manner on the phone. This motivates me to perform well each week reaching my goals. So at this point it’s working well for me. I would highly recommend this programme and when my 6 months is up I will write a new review. Until then, keep the focus. All the best Michael Williams Northern Tasmania
The program was expensive and I was bullied into buying in. It was huge financial commitment that I didn't understand at the time I was pressured. It gave me a lot of financial strain and anxiety. My weight went up because I was too depressed and anxious to enact it. I would never recommend the program because of the business practices. The salesperson should be ashamed. I only just paid the thing off, and I'm finally able to relax about my bills. The group support on Facebook was a joke. The posts were automatically rejected when key words were used regarding the cost and expense. The length of the program is unsustainable, and i didn't even get resources I can use later. I can't recall a single recipe I've seen, as opposed to other much cheaper & more successful programs that I've used where I still have a tome of excellent material from. The utilisation of different advertising names similar to legitimate health organisations on social media is designed to add undeserved credibility to the program. It's trickery. It's deceitful.

Jun 19,2024I am so sorry I didn't read these reviews before committing to this total waste of my hard earned money. I definitely felt emotionally manipulated into purchasing this program. No health improvements or weight loss. In fact it made me so stressed, I ended up putting on weight. I tried to get out of this contract without success. What ever you do, DON'T SIGN UP. There is no 10 day cooling off period and all the information provided can be sourced elsewhere for free. I haven't touched the program for months and still have 6 months of $122 fortnightly payments to make. I am on minimum wage and would dearly love to visit my elderly father interstate. I just feel pretty stupid and ripped off.
