The new reporting mechanism for issues/faults has hugely improved my experience. Issues raised are being addressed timeously & followed up. Communication is 100% better! Thank you Brandon in particular.
I have dealt with Newton Factors, Aberdeen for several years now, anytime I phone for property maintenance , it is attended too. Lewis and staff are very helpful. Hilda Forbes
Hannah Henshall is an outstanding property manager. When communicating with Hannah I found her to be extremely well versed, knowledgeable and someone who actually cares that your property is well managed and maintained. Hannah goes above and beyond and this industry sector is lucky to have her. Any requests are followed up promptly, efficiently and her polite manner is exemplary. Hannah you are one in a million. If I could give you 6 stars I would. Thank you.
Nothing but praise for Newton Glasgow branch after recent dealings with them. Absolutely 1st class. Post-covid, our business ran into difficulties and for the next few years we were really struggling financially. The arrival of newborn twins just increased our pressures. It was a period of extreme stress. During this time we fell significantly behind in the factors fees due on our home (amongst a load of other bills), and didn't particularly deal with it very well, burying our head in the sand rather than communicating better than we should have. When we got back on our feet some time later, we had already agreed a CCJ arrangement with Newton to pay back the outdated amounts, which completely wrecked our credit scoring. The good news was that we managed to pay off this amount in full only a few months into the agreement, however, as we continued to stabilise with some better fortunes. As there were some special mitigating circumstances at play which explained the historical situation, Laurent from accounts took it upon himself to personally write to Newton's legal team explaining the situation and requesting the possibility of the CCJ being completely wiped from our credit file upon settlement. He is an absolute credit to the Company. His compassion and understanding really gave the service that extra mile & personal touch, and i cannot thank him enough. We are now able to obtain a mortgage for a bigger property to house the new additions to our family due to a solid credit score. Thanks again to Laurent & Newton.
When my request for help was answered the issue was dealt with very quickly. I contacted Newton Property for help on a Tuesday and got a response on Thursday and by Friday evening my ceiling was fixed. Charlotte checked back in and kept me updated throughout the process so I felt comfortable that it was being dealt with.
This company does not even deserve 1 star. We have had water ingress for over 2 years. Newton took over the factor in December 2023 and we are still waiting for this issue to be resolved. Email trail going back over a year from all residents looking for action and no further forward. Emails and calls ignored with little to no response. Meeting in December with residents were "Ewan" accepted responsibility for his short comings...and still no further forward. Recent communication was to inform of fee increase, we have been paying for absolutely nothing from them apart from paying our close electric bill. Absolutely horrendous experience with this so called company!! Looking at the reviews on this site, you seem to only get a reply if you give them 5 stars!! And a better response to a 5 star review than response to emails regarding your properties essential work. Gourock homeowner.
Outstanding issues for over 14 months, no response to emails, promises to address problems with silence for weeks. Worst experience ever and considering raising a complaint with Scottish Tribunal - our building damaged since 2023
Re “New Factor in Inverness” Still no answer to our damaged wall in Fochabers , it’s been over a year now and nothing !
Had the pleasure of speaking to Fraser today at the new Greenock office. He dealt with my queries efficiently and reassuringly. Great customer service.
For transparency, let me preface this review by stating that the issues noted below cover a range of 18-30 months, and the “date of experience” chosen is based on the original date of review submission: 03/02/2025. Where to begin? I’ll say that it is almost comforting (in a way) to read the ~25% of other negative reviews here, some involving my development’s local office; knowing that, while it feels like we are alone, we most definitely are not and that the issues we face appear to be endemic to Newton and the negligence and incompetent management we face at my development is not the result of any one particular individual, but a whole host of individuals at all levels. Over the last 18 months specifically, I have engaged with no fewer than 5 development managers, 4 members of senior management and numerous local/national administration staff. All too often, correspondence either goes ignored, is passed on to someone else to deal with and is then forgotten about or is dealt with at a glacial pace or in a manner that suggests Newton couldn’t care less. One such issue, involving said property management company actually having the correct keys for my development is still outstanding… an essential basic requirement, you’d think? Whether it is issues with communal electricity billing, grounds maintenance quality, cleaning work, internal works, external works, waste management, billing/invoicing, the tendering process, contractor oversight or development manager input and senior management engagement, Newton fails on every single level over and over again. It is highly concerning to note that other developments and owners are, right now, facing the same issues as my development, and in response they receive argumentative and combative comments from Newton. High staff turnover seems to be par for the course and a lack of responsibility is rife - with senior management promising improvements and solutions, only for them to vanish off the face of the earth and re-appear with a new internal promotion and zero responsibility. Newton will no doubt respond to this complaint noting that they have engaged over the last 18 months (which of course they eventually have, I don’t dispute that) and are working to improve things (which, again, yes they keep saying they are), but the fact that almost 3 years have passed in some instances and we still await positive outcomes, responses and essential repairs, suggests a serious lack of input and care. I’m not one to publicly name-and-shame, but the lack of service, pure negligence and mismanagement my development has received from Newton in the 18 months I’ve had a personal stake is astounding. While things are (very slowly) taking a more positive turn under the new development manager, who I feel is doing their best with little to no support, it remains to be seen if Newton can effectively find resolutions to all of the outstanding issues, oversee their implementation in a timely manner and, crucially, rebuild trust with owners. While management fees have increased some 300% since late-2020, what we receive in return has fallen off a cliff. It can’t continue like this and Newton must do better.
Avoid if possible, bunch of clowns!!!
Frazer Wright and his team were superb and efficiently and most importantly fast instructing a replacement of the boundary fence I now sit my armchair looking at a brand new fence. All done in two working days. Thank you Ian Gallagher
Really quick responses to concern over the temporary roof fix at Glasgow Harbour & constant updates but VERY unhappy at 3% fees rise as pretty sure their directors & owner won’t suffer a drop in their profits! Not a bad response to my review either, other companies can be very dismissive. Point to note they were back on the roof again so it’s heartening to see them keeping a close watch on things, plus their responses to my concerns & queries are always very quickly dealt with while previously they were not quick, or not dealt with at all. Hopefully this trend will continue. Still concerned as to how I can fund a 3% increase on top of every other business putting up their prices. The phrase ‘you can’t get blood from a stone’ comes to mind.
One of the best Property Management companies I have dealt with. In particular the service from both Melissa and Haley has been exceptional. Very responsive, resolve any issues promptly and have great experience in their roles.
Gavin dealt with my query promptly and efficiently and kept me updated throughout. Excellent service
I dealt with Mr Brandon Cochrane who was first class in terms of his efficiency and polite, friendly manner. My queries were answered promptly and clearly. He was a pleasure to deal with.

Tamur’s attention to detail stands out, as he carefully and patiently listens and addresses different aspects of the discussion, leaving no room for ambiguity. What sets him apart is his genuine aim to help, making every interaction feel supportive and solution-oriented. Thanks to his efforts, my overall experience with Newton regarding my inquiry was very pleasant, making him a valuable asset to your team.
Following the storm on Friday 24th Feb, I had to rely heavily on Newton Property to advocate on my behalf and negotiate speedy assistant from contracted partners. They did not let me down. I felt supported and reassured by their regular contact and they did exactly what was necessary to get me the immediate help my property required. Special thanks to my designated property manager, Kayleigh McLachlan, for her perseverance and care throughout and thank you also to the wider team working on my behalf.
Brandon was friendly, extremely patient, and helpful.
