I echo many previous reviews which reference a change of account manager to Rymell, it’s been a good start though I await more regular updates. Rymell correspondence's are more astute and pertinent, making a change from my years of being fobbed off

My experience went from negative to positive simply by a change of account manager. The new customer account manager, Rymell Brown has completely flipped the table. I believe Oeno should hire more people like him who makes customer feels appreciated.

This review reflects the service of Rymell Brown rather than Oeno. Rymell has achieved more in resolving the issues I have been facing with exiting this portfolio in 24 hours thats others with consistent prompting in 6 months +.

Avevano gonfiato i prezzi all’acquisto fin dall’inizio!

Molto sconsigliato come investimento!

Passano i cinque anni e a marzo 2024 dò mandato a vendere i vini.

I've been invested in Oeno for several years now. From my time I've had a great experience with the client account managers and brokers. Rymell, has been great with sorting oht my queries and concerns - especially given the circumstances of the market.

I invested in a comparatively conservative portfolio with Oeno in summer 2020, so am leaving a review of my experience over the last 4 and a half years. The initial sales pitch from Oeno was pushy, however the Sales Team were easy to contact, and engaging. I wanted to be involved in selecting wines for the investment, and discussed various options and preferences. Despite this approach, I now believe the brokers were pushing wines that Oeno made the most profit on from the initial sale, as opposed to advising on wines which would be the best investments. Either this or they were pushing wine to which they had access to large allocations. Whatever the case, my portfolio is as follows: -Chateau Belle-Vue La Renaissance 2011 -Verite Case (La Joie, Le Desir, La Muse) 2017 -Bibi Gratez Testamatta 2018 Since investment, my portfolio has seen an overall loss in value of 12%. The one wine in my portfolio that I pushed to be included has actually increased in value by 15%, whereas the wines heavily pushed by the Oeno broker have decreased in value by an average of around 20%. Communication with my Account Managers has been a challenge. They have always been reluctant to liaise by email, meaning phone calls during working hours have to be arranged. This causes delays. When I’ve been able to obtain reports in the past, these have included errors. This has raised concerns about the accuracy of their investment tracking. They now provide a tracking app which offers limited insight. At the time of receiving erroneous accounts, I was liaising with [redacted], current Head of North America. I’ve had a conveyer belt of around five Account Managers during this time. One I only heard from with an introduction (addressed to the wrong name), then a departure email a few months later. This wasn’t the only time I received template emails with information missing. Their Glassdoor reviews are telling here, with a number of previous Account Managers feeling like they are scamming people, and struggling with the guilt. Not for me to comment. After a period of poor communication I was eventually contacted by Customer Liaison Officer [redacted], who amongst other things said he’d arrange for a bottle of wine to be sent to me to congratulate me on the birth of my son. A nice gesture, however I never received anything. [redacted] is now Head of Account Management. This January Oeno has introduced a blanket £150 annual storage fee with no notice. This is a departure from their claim that fees are only paid when you sell at a profit. Whilst this be may be workable for higher end collectors, it no longer makes financial sense for a medium risk investment, or smaller portfolios. At the time of writing this review, the fee is not mentioned on their website. This raises transparency concerns. They also communicated this information when their offices were closed, inviting investors to get in touch with any questions. Also worth noting that should this fee have been introduced at the start, my loss would currently be substantially higher. It now requires a failing portfolio to perform even better in order to cover the costs. The flat rate also penalises smaller investors, or investors holding a small number of high value bottles. Their business has evolved to include a wine bar in London, events at which are pushed as a perk. This also seems to generate the majority of positive reviews here on Trustpilot. However there is no activity outside of London, making this irrelevant to those who don’t live in the city. The focus of the company seems to be here now. This shift in focus suggests that there is less resource being dedicated into caring for investor portfolios. One of my wines is approaching the end of its drinking window, and I’ve not once been contacted to advise it’s time to look at selling. Luckily I have just about enough knowledge to raise this, but it’s yet another concern. I take my share of the responsibility for my experience with Oeno. I went into it with my eyes open, aware of the risks. Unlike others, I do not believe this has been a complete scam, but the service advertised and sold does not live up to what Oeno is able to provide, nor their priorities in advising investors, nor growing the value of their portfolios. The introduction of the service fee suggests the financial side is also not performing as expected. I will now be requesting Oeno sells my wine or releases it, and I will update this review should this process improve my experience of Oeno. Previous reviews do not give me much hope, it seems my experience aligns with that of several other investors, however I’ll go into it with an open mind. To pre-empt the canned customer service response, should you wish to discuss further, you can reach out to me through our on-going communication.

Brilliant at taking on new business however, absolutely shambolic after sales service. Had an awful experience with one SENIOR OENO broker whom was more interested in watching football rather than discussing my portfolio. Eventually i felt it no longer in my best interest to stay invested in OENO and took the decision to move my portfolio to an alternative broker. After weeks of phone calls, numerous excuses I discovered they didn’t know were my wines had been located. Due to the complete mess of trying to move, said wines, I was given the option of alternative wines to move along with compensation for the totally unprofessional way in which OENO had handled the move. I can say eventually after one or two difficult conversations, this total mess was sorted out. Think carefully before investing, these are a well known, genuine company just shocking administrative practices.

In 2021, I received a bonus and opted to invest it unconventionally, rather than the typical ISA or a low-interest savings account. After some research, I invested approximately £7,500 with Oeno. Initially, their marketing seemed polished, but that is where my positive experience ends. 1) Exit Strategy: Oeno advertised flexibility in withdrawal, but the process proved otherwise. Despite my broker initially promising feedback on market conditions and expected sale times, I received none. Instead, after I requested to liquidate, I was provided with two brokerage forms — one for a bottle that gained only £5 over the years, and another for multiple bottles. Four months post-signing, I'm still awaiting the funds and now i am being ignored by Oeno. Also worth noting, all the 5star reviews are mostly people that have attended their wine bar, or new investors who have yet to try and take their money out - great experience putting your money in, awful to get out For further insight, I suggest reviewing online discussions and articles regarding challenges other investors faced with Oeno, Google-> "Telegraph Oeno Sour Grapes" and "reddit: Oeno wines" 2) Communication Quality: The communication from Oeno is overwhelming and often reads like spam. They send lengthy emails that seem to be mere templates forwarded by brokers. Their follow-ups typically involve pitches to invest more, such as one suggesting, "Wanna invest £10k in whiskey, I will call tomorrow to explain, this is liquid gold." As a client service professional myself, finding such communications as spam reflects poorly on their supposed luxury branding. 3) Value and Pricing: I am currently transferring my investment out of Oeno due to the lack of transparency and delays in liquidation, which I ideally expected could complete within six months. My broker became unresponsive post-triggering the liquidation. Upon having an independent valuation done by BBR, Oeno’s appraisal overshot the original amount by £1.1k. I would have financially been better off with a straightforward 2% savings account. In addition to this a number of bottles arrived at my new storage facility scratched or with damaged labels/cases and are therefore ineligible for resell, writing off an additional 2k. I advise potential investors to exercise caution and possibly look elsewhere, where the dealings are more transparent and the services more reliably delivered.

My initial experience of Oeno was excellent, unfortunately after a few years I experienced some woeful customer service which along with other negative reviews caused me to have some concerns. I reached out over multiple platforms and eventually was supported by LJ. I was apprehensive but he talked a good game and made realistic assurances! fast forward two weeks and today I received funds in my bank from 50% of my 2021 investment, which I’m happy with. Plans are on going with how to proceed for the remaining 50%. Understandably due to risk and the world wine market, neither party wants losses. It’s been a rocky ride at times but I feel reassured and the trust in the company has been reinstated.

I have held my portfolio with oeno since 18/05/22. Do not invest with them. They will not give me my money back. They ignore my calls emails and complaints. I have been trying to get my money back since May 2024 and they just keep ignoring me. When I started the investment I was told I could get my money back at any time, the only thing would be to give them 6 weeks or slightly longer to sell the wines. Its nearly been 1 year since I asked for my money back and I still haven't got it.

I have had a really good experience with Pedro. He took the time to explain the product and how it works, answering all my questions in the best possible way. He also understood my needs as a retail investor and worked hard to create the right portfolio for me. I also appreciate being able to track the price evolution of my wines on the website or app. I feel that OENO is the right platform to diversify an investment portfolio.

I invested £7k in wines 2 years ago and it seems impossible to sell my wines, I have been chasing them for 9 months and they keep saying it is not that easy to sell the wines. I can confirm they are selling the wines overpriced to investors as they need this cash to do their fancy entertainment parties. They do fantastic marketing and parties thanks to our money. I am very worried about this and unless they give my money back I wil soon report them eveywhere. Do not invest in here please.
