I needed a new highly specified LGA1155 motherboard, which are getting quite rare now since Intel have stopped making chips to manufacture the boards from. After being let down by several other suppliers I came across PCupgrade. Leo checked stock levels and promised next working day delivery. On the day of delivery Leo phoned me to confirm that it would be delivered by DPD later in the day and if there were any problems then someone would be able to help me up to 6.45pm in the evening. The motherboard arrived as promised and works perfectly. If only all companies provided service like this; totally brilliant, thank you Leo for your help and care in getting this to me on time!

I thought I was lucky as I’d found a piece of hardware that I had been struggling to find, placed an order with this company on the 13th for a part that was showing as in stock on their website. The order went straight into pending so they didn’t actually take any money off me right away. After not hearing anything for a few days I sent them an e-mail on the 17th I got no reply to this so on the 18th I called them. Spoke to nice guy (thinks his name was Steve) he states that they we’re unable to get the part that I had ordered however could offer some alternatives. Sadly the alternatives we’re either an older model of what I wanted, or a completely different make and spec. He did claim an email was sent to me and a reply to my email however I never got these. An near enough straight away my order was canceled. In conclusion, the whole experience was a waste of time and a disappointment. Sadly I really can’t recommend this company.

Their customer service was so fantastic that I actually searched for a way to give feedback (and found this website). As with the other review on here, I was contacted by Stu after a graphics card I ordered was no longer available. He researched possible alternatives and advised me on the best option - this was impartial and explained in an extremely thorough and clear way. They have really set the standard very high for my expectations of customer service from other companies now!

I came across PCUpgrade by chance via google as I was looking for parts to buy for a home build PC. I had wanted to buy a part which I was having difficulty finding (a water cooler). Upon speaking to Stu about my proposed build he not only recommended a more suitable alternative (which was actually cheaper than the one that I had originally wanted to buy) but discussed every other component as well. As well as providing free advice about the order in which I should make my purchases and other issues to be aware of which I might not have considered. All in all they provided the best customer service I have yet to see - I would not hesitate to use or recommend them in the future.

I made an order for a Lightscribe DVD burner on the PC Upgrade web site. It was only after I'd paid and completed the order I realise (being a fool) that it was for a “Blue Ray” - which wasn't to my requirements. I called the PC Upgrades enquiries number and got through to Stu. I told him how imbecilic I was and that I required just a bog standard DVD Lightscribe Burner. After listening to me prattling on for ten minutes he said that he would ring me back with-in an hour………….. 30 mins later he phoned me, and told me he had found what I needed in Holland and that he had arrange delivery of the burner. Two days later it arrived.

My hard drive failed partly due to suspected malware and I was not happy with knowledge I received elsewhere so I contacted PCUpgrade after a google search. I contacted Stu who was happy to provide impartial advice and assist with my efforts to get my laptop back in working order. I have since contacted Stu again for advice and not once has he tried to pressure sell me anything or demand any kind of payment for the help he has provided. I would happily recommend this company and Stuart to anyone, they are helpful and their knowledge seems to far exceed 'the norm'

I ordered a video driver card online and one of the Pcupgrade staff phoned me shortly afterwards to say that they were supplying a different model (more up to date), as that one was not available, but also that the fan was larger and would it fit the available space? Well it was delivered this morning, fitted a few hours later and it is all working really well. I just wanted to say thanks very much for the excellent service. A Selby, Hertfordshire.

I have bought components from PCupgrade over a number of years and have always found them to be helpful and efficient. More recently I asked them to build a system for me and they were able to recommend alternative products to those I had originally proposed, giving me a better system at no increase in price. It arrived on schedule and was very nicely put together.

Incredibly helpful staff who were knowledgeable about the products and their end uses! Products arrived in perfect condition the very next day. Excellent service from order through to despatch...and then even after that the team were incredibly helpful over the phone when I struggled during set up. Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much Leo and Stu :)

They did an excellent job at sourcing the Asus motherboard that I required. They also undertook a fault diagnosis with my PC. They told me what they were going to do, and then did it.

I ordered a new dvd player for my sons laptop, the website was easy to use and the follow up advice from the tech team was excellent. I would highly recommend and will use again in the future if needed.

Was a bit concerned after reading some reviews on purchasing older parts but spoke to the guys before ordering and they gave me details of what was in stock ordered the socket 1156 Asus motherboard arrived next day and was installed shortly after. Great service guys

I went to purchase the item from the link below after doing a google search for this particular model: [external reference] Admittedly it was a little impulsive, mainly due to this part being quite hard to find. Later that day, I got a notification stating I had paid for the item via sagepay, but there was no indication of the purchase from PCUpgrade.co.uk I then read some reviews from other people who had experienced problems getting the part they actually ordered, and being called up to offer alternatives. On a similar note, I saw several 'overly positive' reviews stating that users had received calls for advice on alternatives and it being 'the best customer service' - don't believe it - these reviews are probably false too. They tried to offer me a used product with most of the parts missing for the same price, but with not even half the capabilities. I wouldn't be quite so annoyed if it wasn't for 4 factors: 1. I've dealt with companies like this before, and I am fully aware of how they try to lure the less knowledgeable customers in and dupe them into paying the same amount for something much worse. 2. I had already sourced parts to specifically fit this product only to find out they couldn't even offer me anything remotely close to what I wanted, so I have parts that are effectively useless due to their misinformation. 3. I am still waiting for my refund. 4. They are STILL listing the item as available for sale. DON'T BUY FROM HERE - they're time and money wasters. You're honestly better off elsewhere!

After a power cut, I tested my PSU with a 'tester' - all seemed ok so assumed motherboard was the problem. Replaced motherboard with no joy. Contacted PCUpgrade (Leo and Stuart) who were very helpful. They tested all the components (mobo, cpu, memory and graphics. All worked. Assumed PSU was the problem. Supplied new PSU and everything now ok. While this is by no means my first 'build', I would have been lost without them. Stuart was also very helpful in advising on UPS to hopefully present future problems. Thanks for your patience guys!

I was trying to improve performance of my laptop. After some research I went for combo docking station + graphic card. I had slight idea which graphic card I should get (read: a guy on forum recommended one). However, card was rather hard to get (read: I'm buying at amazon). After Google I found similar card at PCUpgrade. I fill up the form, and start praying that the card will work (and wondering, where I can get brand new docking station to 7 old year old laptop). After 2 hours I get the call from Stu. He strongly discouraged me from buying the card that I just ordered (bottom line: We don't want your money! We worried about your safety. This card maybe not the best for you). I explained my case, Stu (who is... awesome!), told me that he will talk with The Guy Who Knows Lenovo, after (The Guy's) lunch break and he'll call me back. He did! 20 minutes later! He explain the situation to me (the risks of upgrading my laptop), told me that he did the research and recommended better card in the same price range. I'm working in customer service and I really wish that sometimes I reach the level of professionalism of Mister Stu from Technical. Dear PC Upgrade: your employee deserve the rise. And healthy bonus. And free T-shirt. He's awesome. You just get yourself very happy and loyal customer (who cares about Amazon, anyway!) Regards M

The motherboard I wanted was out of stock. PCupgrade found a better one to use instead and matched the price to avoid any hassles. Would recommend!

After stupidly ordering some PC parts that wouldn't have helped achieve what I was trying to achieve, not one but two people from PCupgrade phoned me to advise me that I was buying the wrong stuff. They cancelled my order without any hesitation and advised me comprehensively by phone and email on the correct solution, without any hard sell at any point whatsoever. Of course, I bought what I needed from them because they explained really carefully everything that I needed to know to make an informed decision. You rarely even get this on the high street. Brilliant stuff.

Wanting to beef up the graphics capability of my recently acquired computer, and completely clueless as to how to go about it, I contacted PC Upgrade for some advice, and was basically blown away with the depth of their response. Not only was I recommended a better, cheaper card, they were also able to answer a complex technical query about the card that was crucial to my order. They did this all within half an hour of me sending my first email! I placed my order soon after (approx 10.30am) and my order was delivered the next morning and worked perfectly.
