PCUPGRADE - Direct Distributor of Modern and Legacy PC Components
Ordered a part for upgrading my PC, they rang me up to show me FAR better alternatives for the same price point that I had missed. Then they took the time to ensure everything I was choosing was compatible (my first choices were not) and they were there to answer all my questions. I now have a phat PC ready for a GPU upgrade as soon as my bank balance permits. If you need help Stu is the man!
I started my first PC build a few months ago, but what I didn't know is that all my parts were discontinued or just not very good. Luckily, Stu at PCupgrade came to help me choose some better parts and even help me afterwards with updating the BIOS. I saved lots of money in the process and learnt lots of tips for future systems I might build.
Ordered a legacy motherboard on their website. The website said IN STOCK. I then get a phone call from them saying they don’t actually have that item or anything similar in stock! And would I like to upgrade? When I needed a legacy board specifically for the parallel port and not for gaming. I then asked them if they could phone me back and let me know what legacy stuff they have which has a parallel port onboard. And after 5 hours of waiting I called them back to cancel order. But according to my bank because they’ve taken the payment as a deposit so they can adjust the price depending on me upgrading, it’s going to take 30 days for them to return payment. Avoid this place like the plague and do not trust their website! Update: as of 8th April still no refund!
Ordered two new hard disks, when chased was told they had been sent the wrong disks so could we wait but they did have some others that we comparable so we accepted them. When we received them one made a noise so we ran some tests with crystaldiskinfo, we found to our horror that both disks were not new and had over 26 thousand hours of use on them! On the phone they are very good and arranged the return in good time even though it was at our cost!
Spoke to Leo who was very helpful, ordered new power supply and received better than I ordered at no extra cost, thank you PC Upgrade.
Really helpful company great customer service fast delivery Highly recommend
so far so good, ordered a CPU, ( which we haven't installed yet), they rang to check if I had the right CPU for my motherboard, if I needed a cooler for it, when they were going to send it, also how they labelled the package to get to the Channel Isles and rang to give me the tracking no'. What more could you ask for ! Will defo use again, especially for the new cases we need!!
We ordered a custom gaming PC from this web site as the prices were great and they could deliver in time for Christmas. Having a custom PC build is much more complex than you might imagine but Stu kept us updated at every stage in the build process, even putting in more expensive components with no additional charge to get it built quickly. Took 4 working days from ordering to the PC arriving (this was the week before Christmas!). Very happy with the PC and would defo use this company again.
I ordered a Gigabyte Power Supply. A nice staff member rang me up and said they had a replacement product (different to the one I ordered). Little did I know it was almost half the price of the one I originally ordered and didn't get any money back for it. I have now left a complaint on the website 'Contact' page but a week and a half later and I have not got a reply of any description. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! So now I'm left with a cheaper knock off version of what I first bought with no refund.😡
What a great company. My knowledge of computer builds is limited, but I had someone else advising me too. But PC Upgrade were incredibly helpful and weren't trying to make me buy things I didn't need and suggested options within my price bracket. Stu was so helpful with every aspect of the build and also with service and advice once the PC arrived at my home. Highly recommend these guys
Was looking for an older part and came across pcupgrade Ordered said motherboard online and got a courtesy call next morning as the board was an older board and after explaining what's best for my needs and going through all the compatible components and exactly why they would or wouldn't work I decided to just upgrade a few parts with them. Prices great! Customer service spot on! aftercare if I needed it! Checked trustpilot before using them and a few people left negative review if something wasn't in stock but clearly didn't elaborate on all the help on offer. Would highly recommend and use again.
I purchased two items from them, a motherboard and a power supply. Although in both cases they didn't have the items I purchased (the motherboard was an older discontinued model), they contacted me very quickly with an alternative at no extra cost. I had some issues during the installation of the components due to a faulty graphics card and they spent all the time necessary on the phone to help me trouble shoot the issues, identify the fault, and make the PC work. Top marks.
I have needed to find a Mother Board with a legacy PCI slot, for a particular project, these are very hard to find now. Pcupgrade spent time going through their stock, to see if they could find a correct part that would suit my project. Not only did they find one, they also found the CPU and memory too that works with it. They have been helpful, and have a good knowledge of PC components and Operating Systems. I will definitely use them again.
Fast and personable service - highly rated
I've been using PCupgrade for a good few years now and I always get a very good level of service from Leo and the team when I call. When I require parts for clients they find them quickly and explain in detail so that I know what I'm getting and when.
I ordered an Asrock Mother Board as advertised. I received a telephone call from the Company telling me they were out of stock of that board. They recommended me a different Mother Board, which they give an account of. I received the board, fitted the said board but it would not boot up my hard disc which was Windows 10. I have now got to purchase Windows 10 software disc so I can boot the Mother Board up. Which is now adding to the cost of this purchase also the Instruction Manuel had been drawn in so was not new. Be aware
Beware! This company does not conduct business lawfully and is dishonest. Their website shows items as being in stock, so you make the purchase, but they don't take your money at this point. They hold the payment until the next stage, which is a telephone call. They call you, which is highly unusual for a company to call you after such a simple online purchase, but they don't really have what you want in stock. What will happen is that they will call you to offer you an alternative of the same or around the same value or specifications. They will show you other products on their website at inflated prices; they tailor the price to suit their needs when deceiving a customer, but you are caught unaware at this stage because most don't have time in the day for this to happen, and it is highly unusual to buy something online and have them call you. You agree to an alternative, and they send you the alternative; in my case, it was a faulty motherboard, so you return it at your expense, even though for online sales, the retailer is meant to pay for the return, not the customer. They will tell you there is nothing wrong with the item you returned, but they will change it for a different item. They then proceeded to sell an item that was worth half its true value. They changed the prices on their website to deceive you. When you have made the purchase, they will lower the price of the product. I paid twice as much for a motherboard that is worth half the price charged. Also, the motherboard doesn't arrive in the manufacturer's sealed box with its manufactured accessories; they wrap them in bubble wrap and put them in any old box they have, so there is no way of knowing if the product is new or used. But they have an excuse for this that seems plausible at the time. It took quite a while for the penny to drop after my experience with this company, as their charm and helpfulness build trust, but they clearly cannot be trusted. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing from this company. It appears others have had similar experiences, and from my experience, I would advise you not to purchase anything from this company.
Recently ordered a PC case from the company that had been in stock for a while. 20 minutes after ordering I received a call saying the product was not in stock because they had recorded stock of a similar product as this one. They had to cancel my order but the product stayed in stock for a day afterwards. Ordered a different case which arrived promptly. Upon having a few issues with the product I emailed the company on two separate occasions asking for help with different issues but as 2 weeks later I have had no response.
If you’re going to buy from them make sure to check stock beforehand. The website has a lot of fake stock which can leave you waiting for a long time, not worth the small price difference!
