I purchased a sale package with Purplebricks for just under £1,600 in 2021 which came with a lifetime fee for listing the property. I went to re-list the property today, and found that Purplebricks had been acquired by Strike and are no longer honouring the lifetime listing. I would understand if they converted my purchase to their current fixed period £1,499 package, or a refund even at a reduced incentive. However in order to re-list my property, I need to pay the £1,499 to re-list with the same service I originally paid for. In my original instruction email, I was provided the T&Cs via hyperlink. These link to the new Service Agreement. Same on my account on Purplebricks account. I did not agree to a change in T&Cs, which is not compliant with the consumer contracts regulations. As to whether the acquisition was shares or assets and therefore impacting my consumer rights, it is unclear. However I still have my account, invoice, listing etc. I was not contacted when Strike took over Purplebricks about my contract being voided, or T&Cs changed etc. So I imagine my rights as per the initial agreement remain intact as Purplebricks didn't fall into administration. What I find staggering, is the awful customer service from Purplebricks. They were unwilling to discuss this issue over the phone. So I tried to submit a written complaint on their website via a form, you can't. The button to submit isn't working. So I contacted customer services again, asking for an email address. The said that other customers are reporting issues with the complaints submit button and to try later, and that they cannot provide a complaints email as they only can receive complaints via the web form. This is also not legal!!!! They have to have a way to submit a complaint, and if that method is not working, they have to provide another route. Just awful!

Can’t even get me a memo of sale Ridiculous which was taking weeks After I chased it myself several times and put the review up today It’s finally sorted after this review went up They sorted it within 2 hours of this review after I called the buyers compliance team

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Purplebricks, and I can confidently say it was one of the most unprofessional encounters I have ever had with an estate agent. Their lack of reliability and basic customer service standards is shocking. Firstly, appointments were scheduled but never honoured. On multiple occasions, I was left waiting for an agent who simply never turned up—no courtesy call, no rescheduling, and certainly no apology. When I attempted to follow up, I was met with dismissiveness and a complete lack of accountability. To make matters worse, the staff member I eventually managed to speak with was not only unhelpful but also incredibly rude. Their attitude made it abundantly clear that customer service is not a priority for Purplebricks. Rather than acknowledging their mistakes or attempting to rectify the situation, I was met with indifference and excuses. An estate agent’s primary role is to facilitate a smooth process for buyers and sellers, but Purplebricks seems to have entirely missed that memo. Their failure to uphold even the most basic professional standards makes them a company to avoid at all costs. If you are looking for an agent who respects your time, communicates effectively, and values customer service, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. To make things worse, they have closed my account! Avoid at all costs!!!

My experience with PB was stressful and disappinting. Most of the time, it made wonder if this business actaully existed at all.They are ok to do some simple jobs before your sale is agreed, like changing pics and price, etc. But once an offer is agreed which is when you really want to progress, PB simply did nothing to help. In my case, it took over a month from when I accepted the offer to when PB eveutally updated this on their system so that my and my buyer's solicitor were finally connected to work together for us. The delay was purely caused by the lack of due diligence from PB. They did not communicate with me or my buyer for what was needed.My buyer and I had to painstakinly keep ringing PB to find out where the blockage was and what was needed and how, so on and on... PB appears cheap but they are worse than cheap. It is not worth saving your money on them. I will never use them again and will not recommend to anyone else.

As a returning customer to purplebricks after spending a considerable amount to sell 2 houses. Disappointed with the level of service from the estate agent end.Purplebricks seem happy to take the fee to sell the house then it seems their job is done. No urgency to sell your property especially in the upper price bracket. If you're considering selling a house use local estate agents I have doubled the amount of viewing in 1 week compared to 3 and a half months with purplebricks. Pay the commission.

I buy properties from multiple high street & online estate agents but purplebricks are by far the worst iv ever dealt with, there communication skills are terrible, also I didn’t receive there confirmation email about a viewing so asked for the address so I could find the property and they couldn’t give me it because of GDPR! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND THE HOUSE!

We paid upfront and took out the whole bundle – that was our first mistake! They had the money, no need for service. The pictures were done, along with a video. The video didn’t go on with the pictures. The service included viewings so a key safe had to be fitted. The key safe was never fitted so we had to do the viewings ourselves. We had a total of 3 different advisors in the space of 6 months – the last one was assigned 1 month after we signed up. She was hard to contact. Calls were made, messages left for her to call back and emails sent. Days went by before she contacted us back. Prospects would book viewings but then they disappeared down a black hole – no feedback at all and no effort on the part of the advisor to use the contact details they hold to get feedback. When I complained I was informed that “We would not expect our Viewing Hosts or Account Managers to contact viewers to request their feedback, unless the vendor specifically requested this” a disgraceful service – what do they actually do?!. I eventually made a complaint and of course every point that I made was not upheld – of course not! I eventually got my money back for the viewings that were never performed by them. We were then told that the contract with Purple Bricks is only for 6 months whereby you either have to reduce the price by at least 5% or pay again! Pay again? Yeah, right! Failing that, we could put the house up for auction and see what people want to pay – an absolute disgrace. We have decided to withdraw our sale from Purple Bricks and I cannot say this enough. Bite the bullet and pay a proper Estate Agent. You will get a dedicated person, they will take all the contact details of a buyer, do the viewings, follow up after the viewing and contact you with feedback. They vet any prospect buyers and see the sale through to completion and the team is just at the end of a phone. Everyone is happy. Please, please do not waste your money on this company. We have had to write off over £1,000 because of our decision to use them. Be warned.

Had a valuation with purple bricks, Stephen was great, clear knowledge and very helpful to give us an understanding of what our options are without feeling like we were being pushed to make a decision. Will definitely be using purple bricks when we come to sell.
