Jan 14,2025We love so many things about Riverford. We have a small fruit, veg and salad box. Everything tastes delicious and there are so many great hints and tips. We wanted a more varied diet and this is helping us to explore seasonal foods. We also discovered the other products. The sourdough bread is delicious, especially toasted. The eggs are amazing - my eldest daughter previously wouldn’t eat them and is now requesting them most mornings.

Jan 14,2025My review is of all deliveries since joining scheme (4 selected boxes). The efficiency of the delivery and online ordering arrangements, in addition to the excellent quality of the produce, especially potatoes. The only disappointments were less than juicy oranges one time and (winter) tomatoes that didn’t really live up to their description. But overall my experience is great and I have been advocating for Riverford to anybody that will listen!

Organic and quailty food is so important in this day and age and I'm greatful that companies like this exist. They also do a lot of important research for soil fertility and preservation. My orders have been promptly delivered and I will be a customer for life.

Jan 12,2025Been using Riverford for a couple of months now. Veg and meat boxes have good variety and change each week although I would like it if there wasn't beef mince every week but it is still good quality. Great customer service, I got a welcome call when I placed my first order, and when I did receive an item that wasn't up to standard, I received a full refund with no problems. I also got their cook book for free with one of the deliveries. Delivery drivers are very friendly, and the fact they take the packaging back each week is really good in terms of sustainability. It is quite a bit more expensive than supermarkets, especially with the 2025 price increase, but I think it is better quality produce, all organic, and I am happy to pay a bit more to support the British farmers. It's not for everyone because of the prices, but if you can afford it, I would say its worth it.

Jan 12,2025This company has been fantastic, we started getting their veg and fruit boxes at the end of last year. I was nervous about getting items I don't eat etc. but they give you an amazing guide to what is what, basics on how to cook it and they even gifted me a winter veg recipe book which is amazing. Food is fresh and delicious.

Jan 11,2025Delicious, tasty organic fruit and vegetables delivered to my door makes it easier to eat healthily. The Riverford Companion Winter Autumn cook book has useful ways of using vegetables I don't normally cook with. I'm looking forward to trying the parsnip, apple and ginger soup. The blood oranges deserve a special mention as they were really juicy and tasty.

Jan 10,2025We wanted to buy organic groceries so we thought we would try Riverford. This was our experience, no one phoned prior to the first delivery as per the email sent. The open box was dumped outside our door in the slushy snow near to a pile of leaves. The items were very damp. The Kale looked nice, mushrooms okay and pepper was okay, but the apples and pears were horrible and poor quality. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried a second order a small pre selected veg box. This didn’t arrive until 11am making me late for work, no phone call or email to say they were going to be that late. The much needed Spinach was missing and replaced with lettuce? The driver was a relief driver and said that the delivery could sometimes be during the night, contradicting what the customer services had said after 6am and another one stating after 8am. The workers clearly have no consistency with what they tell customers. We emailed the CEO who just passed it onto another manager. We placed a third order and guess what the box was just dumped this time between my dirty waste bins, he had even untied my bins to do this. The box arrives uncovered so any passing by dogs, foxes, birds, animals can spray over the food or eat it. There were strict delivery instructions to knock the door and hand the item to us and not leave it unattended - but no the driver decides to ignore this. We contacted the CEO again, he passes it again, apparently he doesn’t deal with daily operations? We are assured that the delivery instructions will be followed on our fourth order. Guess what the order is dumped again this time in front of my car, all items very wet, although this time covered in a plastic bag. The smell was awful from the box, poor quality old peppers, wet mushroom box, and just one brocoli and the bread looked burnt and was rock hard. Needless to say we have given up with Riverford. Our experience is they do not care about how they deliver the food, they do not check the quality, hence it is very hit and miss what condition the item is in when you get it. It is over priced for what you get and then they go and increase the prices on existing orders. Go to your local organic farm shop instead. Don’t go through this hassle! You may want organic but chances are with Riverford and the way they deliver you may well find your food partly eaten, sprayed by passing animals or worse still oil or fumes from the car. It is not hygienic the way they deliver. Avoid - Don’t waste your time they don’t care!
