In 2001, a customer named Jen was building her dream home in southern Michigan and wanted a beautiful stairway. She could see what she wanted in her mind, but the stair parts she wanted were not available through normal outlets. She wanted unique iron balusters with custom box newels. Len thought he could meet her needs, and StairSupplies was born.

Dec 12,2023I recently ordered a DriveTite kit (10 pack) primarily for replacement parts for an existing cable railing project. The parts arrived quickly, within a week, and were well packaged. Unfortunately, a set of lock washers was missing. I contacted the on-line orders manager and was told StairSupplies no longer provides that part. I explained it was still included in their order form and shown in their on-line installation video. He could only say the company stopped providing the lock washers about six months ago and he will contact the web manager to edit the website. He also assured me the lock washer was not a critical part of the kit. An inadequate reponse in my view!

There was slight damage in shipping and we needed additional product mid project. They rushed me additional product at a discount and replaced the entire damaged piece. The follow up, project assistance, and service was incredible and my new staircase is stunning!

May 04,2022Order process was great. New stair handrail arrived with an unacceptable joint @ wall return. There is a gap at the wall return MIllwork joint as well as a size difference between the rail run an the joinery piece which is an abrupt transition at the joint on one end of the railing

Mar 23,2022Funds were deducted the day the order was placed. A status link was provided. Order status said "order placed". When the order status remained unchanged after 30 days I called to cancel the order. I was told it was "in production" and could not be canceled. Further, that it would complete in a day or two and ship that week. The order status remained unchanged until a full week later when it changed to "in production". When everything arrived I noticed that the easing was the wrong type. They sent an up easing when an over easing was required. My bad, I assumed they would issue the correct part based on the diagrams the finish carpenter provided. I asked to exchange the up easing for an over easing and was told that it was not returnable. (Note: the up easing is a standard part, unaltered from the stock configuration.) They then asked if I wanted to buy the over easing. I purchased the over easing locally for $23.00. Compare to $74.09 list on stairsupplies.com. Twice I used the "schedule a phone call" feature. Both times I never received the promised call back. I had to call in and wait on hold. Too many mistakes. I do not recommend dealing with them. Sincerely, Steve Morrison
