In spite of having to abort the meter installation through no fault of his own, the Providor engineer, John Walker, spent over 3 hours trying to resolve the technical issues which appear to be system failures outside the control of both Providor and its customers - in vain. The installation process was a failure but the engineer remained patient and kept myself and his next destination informed. I hope that John Walker is the engineer chosen to rectify the problems after I rebook.

Simon was knowledgeable, friendly and explained everything clearly. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was fitted properly. There was also an issue with the current gas which he solved and explained how and what to look out for. Also completed the fitting quickly! Very happy with the installation.

The engineer Michael normington was great and very friendly, he explained everything very clearly and was great with my children, he gave my youngest a coloring book to do while the electric was off.

Had a new smart Meter fitted recently. Whole process so easy, and can now conveniently top up online rather than going to the shop. Also had the pleasure of Meeting Michael Normington who came to fit our meter, absolutely lovely man! My 3 year old son was here at the time, he wanted to stay with him the whole time whilst installing the meter. Michael was wonderful let him watch him at work and played with him. What a top man, Michael needs a pay rise! He goes the extra mile to make people feel comfortable. Thanks again 👍

I am a Scottish Power Economy 7 customer with an existing Economy 7 RTS Meter switching rates between day/night tariffs using the BBC Long Wave Radio signal that the BBC are battling to switch off permanently. At the time of booking my Smart Meter the RTS signal was due to be switched off by the BBC on 31st March 2024, although in the week of fitting my Smart Meter the BBC has agreed under pressure from Electricity companies to extend the signal for another year. I was very nervous of getting a Smart Meter as there are many difficulties with them in various forums, especially for Economy 7 and Economy 10 customers. So far, three days in with my new Smart Meter I need not have worried. ScottishPower dealt with a company called Providor to exchange my meter. Providor contact centre called me two days prior to assure themselves that date was still convenient for me and that they definitely had an engineer available for the time slot. They also asked about meter box location, access, van parking etc. The evening before fitting the Providor engineer himself ( Michael Normington ) called to confirm a likely target arrival time within the wider time period booked. He arrived on fitting day at exactly that time. The task was carried out efficiently with clear communication between himself and me about what would happen with the power being off and on etc. The post fitting wrap-up and handover of the In-Home-Device and documentation was also done well with as much info as needed. I would be confident that a good job would be done if Michael Normington was the engineer allocated to Friends and Family if they chose to have a Smart Meter fitted. I had pre-downloaded the ScottishPower App too, which is showing updated meter readings as at midnight each night. So far, the IHD appears to be working ( although the current day/night tariff rates are on the OK button, not the Now button as on Youtube Video. Also, Economy 7 tariff rate viewing is not mentioned in paper printed IHD user guide )

Excellent service from the Engineer. Michael Normington was our engineer. He called the day before to advise the window he would arrive and sure enough the following day arrived on time. Friendly, polite and explained everything thoroughly. Work completed very quickly and very tidily.

Thanks Michael Normington for going above and beyond when moving/installing our new smart meter, helping us to make a huge saving. Couldn’t ask for better service. Lovely guy very friendly and did a great quality job. Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
