Was hoping switching for teksavvy from shaw would be good but it's been really bad. I have been with them 3 months and since the beginning wifi shuts off multiple times a day and have to reset the modem to get back online. Today I think I counted this happened almost 10 times it happens everyday. I called and spoke to customer assistant and they can't resolve the issue and won't send me a new modem (not sure why) I have cancelled my service September I am going with telus. It's a shame wanted to avoid shaw or Telus and support small business but the product and service is just terrible. Stay away
After over 10 years being with them I decided to leave. The service is bad, They sent me a defective modem that started causing problem as soon as was put in use - On the same day and everyday since. Connection would drop few time every day and I had to power cycle the modem to get it back on. When contacted them they said they will have to investigate. The logical customer service would be to take this refurbished modem back and send a functional one. But TBH they do not even pretend to care about their customer. The price is almost the same as others and the service is terrible
Advertised 1.5 GB per second of new fibre. Had it installed And it turns out their hardware is only capable of producing a maximum of 700 constant megabits per second. When I called to ask about this, The technician said " You have to speed test two devices at once and then add their speed together."... Wtef.. lol no. I'm not f'n stupid bro. Considering this is their first foray into fiber, This false adversizing could really miss them up.
SHELDON ROCKS! I have been a long-time TekSavvy customer with little to no problems. However, this changed when I moved to another province and had many connectivity issues. Frustrated and fed up, I was about to switch service providers….but Sheldon turned that around. He went above and beyond and walked me through several troubleshooting strategies until I was back up and running. He definitely went beyond his job description today. Thank you Sheldon, you deserve a big raise!
Wanted to support a smaller company, ordered internet, received modem, confirmed requested date for tech visit (Shaw) and was told it could not be sooner than our “requested” date…Shaw technician calls the day BEFORE scheduled day to advise he would be here in 15 minutes, but of course we weren’t available that day! Called him back - he doesn’t make his schedule, would try to be back between 3 and 5 pm…he did not return that day. Called tek savvy customer service next day - our “requested” service day, got all sorts of excuses from them, they said they weren’t sure why it was scheduled for the day before and why we weren’t notified of the change, and could only offer to send the request again and couldn’t say when it might be scheduled again. CSR got snippy with me when I complained about this, all he could offer was blah blah blah…hung up on him, then called back and asked for a supervisor. She told me there was a note on our account to contact us about date change, but no one had. More excuses - Shaw is backed up with scheduling tech visits since merge with Rogers (even though they came early for us!) - so sorry, blah blah blah…so we “cancelled” our non-service with them, for which we received a confirmation email less than 5 minutes later! Would not recommend their service at all as clearly they don’t care about customer service and make excuses for everything else.
About a month and a half ago Shaw started to block email coming from the Teksavvy domain. It took a while to figure out my friends and family who are on Shaw weren't getting my emails. First we reached out to Shaw and they confirmed the were blocking Teksavvy but that's where they stopped. No interest in investigating or resolving the issue. I reached out to Teksavvy thinking they would be very concerned that maybe thousands of their customer's emails bound for Shaw recipient weren't being delivered. Nope. Teksavvy really didn't care. They don't know why it happened but basically indicated there was nothing they could do. Really? So the situation persists.
They kept telling us different things were wrong when they were setting up a fiber system for us, and they changed their story about what was actually wrong every time. They passed us to Bell who would tell us it was Teksavvy's equipment. Eventually a technician told us that the modem was faulty. But still they wouldn't replace the modem. We found out that replacing the modem is a last resort and they will endlessly waste your time to avoid just sending you a new modem. Customer service will lie to avoid dealing with your problem (e.g. telling you there's an outage when there isn't and to call back in a few hours). And tech support was incredibly untrained in this new technology. If Teksavvy is going to offer this, they should take the time to train their employees. And they should care more about their customers' needs for timely internet than saving money by avoiding replacing faulty technology at any cost to you. Go with TekSavvy if you want to waste your time with endless hassles and you don't actually need working internet.
Havent got it installed yet. When i set up my account online I selected the 26th as my install date. Its the day prior, and I just had a feeling I should call in to confirm the installation was still taking place. I was told on the phone that they have no available technicians for the 26th, and offered me the 29th. No notice, no update, no courtesy call. offering me a time schedule they can't honor. I have booked time off work for this installation, and it's too late to undo that, so now i'll have to book off more time again. I haven't even gotten the internet up and running and i'm already seeing red flags. Here's hoping they will actually show up on time, as this is their selected time. But this is a pretty poor introduction to the company.
Worst wifi service ever they are slow and behind I do not recommend tekksavy
I work from home and I'm a heavy internet user as a result so I can't tolerate downtime. I called after sign up to make sure everything was ok. They confirmed my place was eligible for self install and assured me I'd have internet on the day I selected - but no! Not even close. On the day after I was supposed to have internet, the third CSR I spoke with claimed I wasn't eligible for self install and so they'd have to send a tech and they didn't know when they'd come. Worst of all, she blamed me for the issue and then hung up. I called Shaw and they're getting me set up tomorrow. When I called teksavvy back to cancel they couldn't have cared less. Didn't even ask why. I sent them an email explaining everything with a screenshot to counter the claim that it was my fault but I doesn't matter. Just a horrible experience. Sorry much for a competitive spirit. Thank goodness my neighbor was ok with me using his internet for a couple of days.
The only provider that still offers a local telephone service that is not VOIP.
Been waiting for almost 24 days and the tech didn’t even show up??? Honestly I have never been so frustrated with a company. First it was the wrong date for the installation, technician showing up on the wrong date for installation/activation then I learned that Shaw closed the installation ticket as closed even though no one showed up and I don’t have internet access. Then Teksavvy opened a new ticket to request a service technician. After waiting for a week we got a response and they were supposed to show up today. And today no one showed up? Teksavvy’s only response is we don’t know. Is this a joke? Why am I waiting for almost 2 weeks now and still don’t have internet. Now they said they need to open a new ticket and request and wait again. What the hell?? I don’t care if it’s 3rd party or someone else but who is going to ask questions? Cause Teksavvy is not and only the customers are getting screwed. Doesn’t matter if their prices are appalling if you are not getting service.
Excellent value for money, customer service is top notch, and they are fighting to keep prices as low as possible for consumers. No set contract periods with price increases after 2 or 3 years. The price is the price, year after year. My only negative thing to say is that technician visits are arranged through other providers and can take a bit longer when you need hands-on assistance. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.
Staff member was friendly and helpful. I needed to update my payment method and i was able to do so quickly.
Very helpful and courteous.
Would not recommend this company, I went 3 weeks without internet. After about a month of service my internet went down and remained down for three full weeks! I was on the phone with tech support every few days (15+ minute waits each time plus 15+ minute sessions) trying to get this fixed. They sent a technician to look at it, sent me a new router, sent multiple tickets to Shaw. It was a very painful ordeal especially since I work from home. I was told on the phone by one of the tech support that I would be automatically refunded for the down time. Yet I checked my bills and for the next few months they came in without discount. So I had to call again in order to get this discount (good thing I check my bills otherwise they would've essentially stolen money from me). So after waiting for 40 minutes for a supervisor (Richard) I told them I thought it would be fair if I recieved an extra week on the discount (4 week total) for the annoiance of everything I went through plus having to call again. But they wouldn't even give me the extra week! These people do not know how to treat customers. When my discount period is up I will be finding a new service provider. TLDR do not sign up if you want consistent service.
I had a fantastic experience with Sheldon. Not only was he kind and professional to help test my modem but he also called back when it was delivered and walked me through the set up. He is a great guy and really shows up for his customers.
Teksavvy is everything the giant telecom companies are not. They're real people not just drones pandering to shareholders. They have great service packages for a great price. They do not constantly try to gouge your wallet. It's almost like someone said "Hey what if we made an ISP, except the customers *don't* hate us with the righteous fury of a thousand burning sun's?"
You are Excellent ,easy work with you ,fast to solve a problem when I was calling ,give a customer good advice and good team work,
