Fantastic from start to finish - I highly recommend these guys! Paul came out to give the quote and was very helpful. Like lots of other reviews have said, James the engineer was superb - efficient, professional & tidy. Highly recommend!
I never write reviews however the service from The Boiler Exchange was so outstanding that I felt I must recommend to others. The process from our first inquiry through to having our combi boiler fitted was first class. James the engineer arrived promptly, he was extremely competent and skilled and managed to fit the boiler into the same kitchen cabinet as our old much smaller boiler. James was very organised and tidy. James explained the how to use the boiler and hive system very well. 10/10
A first time user of The Boiler Exchange and was very impressed by all the guys. Chris and Paul have many years experience in the business and were extremely knowledgeable, taking the time and answering all my questions and always returned my calls timeously. Both guys were very friendly, a real joy to talk to about their product and I never felt under any pressure to use them or to purchase anything I didn’t need. James the engineer really knew his stuff. Again answered all my questions and done a first class job fitting the new boiler and tidying up afterwards. All 3 a real credit to the company and the boiler manufacturer. My final point. I had quotes from a few companies, compatible with The Boiler Exchange and larger. The 3 guys from Boiler Exchange beat them hands down in all aspects; price, knowledge, and customer service. This was a great experience and I will not use anyone else moving forward.
Old boiler chucked it in December. Had several companies out to get quotes. Boiler Exchange were priced competitively for the quality of boilers they use. The clincher was that they agreed to come out and fit it on the Saturday about two days after I signed up with them. Installation was very smooth and without any mess. Boiler has been in place for 8 months now and no issues whatsoever. Thoroughly recommended.
Contacted Viessmann for who they recommend in our area and was directed here. Chris came out within a day, done a demo and gave a great competitive price. Boiler was installed 4 days later by James and they removed the old storage tank. Great company.
No post sales customer support. I have never given a bad review before but I have to say something about The Boiler Exchange, who installed a Viessmann boiler at my flat. Two years on, it has broken down with an error message to contact the installing technician - fair enough, these things do unfortunately happen. Six phone calls to Boiler Exchange and I am still nowhere nearing speaking to an engineer or management and my tenants have been without heating and hot for nearly a week. There are other reviews highlighting this same behaviour - which shows they are not improving. Take my advice if you have to spend that amount of money on a new boiler, choose a company who cares about people more than just selling people boilers. Look for a company with a history of treating their customers with respect. I do believe that the staff on the end of the telephone have tried to engage with their management (at my request). Ultimately they have failed and wasted a lot of time in the process. So 1 star, to highlight to a pattern of truly diabolical customer service. In the end I had to go to another company who responded within 3 hours of my 1st call to resolve the issue.
Great service from start to finish.Would heartily recommend to anyone needing a new boiler.
Fantastic company can’t fault them from Chris doing the survey to James and his colleague doing the installation . Very efficient on everything they do and very informative . Greatest of respect for your property can’t get any better than this company 100% recommend them 😊
Very friendly and very helpfully. Very pleasent engineer and done a great job and very tidy.
Just had a new viessmann combi fitted yesterday. This was a replacement for a 15 year old viessman. Chris came out and surveyed the system and explained the options and made some recommendations with the process of replacing the existing. 2 days later the gas engineer arrived, professional diligent and on point throughout. James the engineer was efficient tidy and communicated throughout. All fitted in a few hours tested and checked and working as it should. Many thanks boiler exchange, efficient professional service at a price that gives us peace of mind.
Very happy with the service Chris was very helpful and got my boiler fitted next day for me so happy the installer Morgan was very good too so happy all round
Company: An enterprising outfit. It's been going since 2018 and its business model seems to be a mixture of traditional local heating company and modern ambitious startup. For me, their prices were competitive with the national online boiler companies but they had the advantage of being local: meaning they visited in person to quote and came up with a tailored solution for my top-floor flat (which the national online companies wouldn't touch). Chris seems to be at the heart of the business - he is one of the directors and handles the sales. A former British Gas sales manager, he comes with a lot of industry experience as well as an unmistakeable sales vibe: a friendly, personable manner along with a keenness to fill his order book. This isn't a bad thing - he sells a good product, is motivated to get your business, and is competitive on price. I went with him because he offered the best product at the best price. Install: The plumber who installed my boiler - James - is a champ. He's an experienced, down to earth, genuine guy who did an excellent job of the install. He was tidy, efficient and knowledgeable, and didn't cut any corners. He's in the East Kilbride/Glasgow area - if you're in this part of the world, you'd do well to have James install your boiler. Product: The Boiler Exchange specialises in Viessmann boilers. This is a good thing - they have stonking 10+ year warranties, bomb-proof components (market-leading stainless steel heat exchangers, powerful modulating Grundfos pumps) and smart tech (all Viessmann boilers are now wifi enabled and everything is electronically controlled). Their party trick is to "modulate" their heat output over a wide range. This matters because they can turn down their heat output lower than most other boilers, which means they can keep your house at a constant temperature without continually switching the burner on and off. This, in turn, saves money on your gas bill while also prolonging the boiler's life. To achieve this efficiency you need to use the right thermostat. For a seamless experience, Viessmann's own smart thermostats (eg. the Vitotrol 100-E for their 100 boiler) automatically enable all of the efficiency features of the boiler. However, Viessmann doesn't currently offer a smart thermostat for their 050 boiler. Instead they offer a temperature sensor (no screen or buttons, just a sensor) which you can put in the same spot you'd have a thermostat, and you can then control the boiler (inc time programmes etc) from the ViCare app. This works well, but many people want a display and buttons on their thermostat, so with the 050 boiler you may want to look at third party options. The good news is that both the 050 and 100 boilers have OpenTherm, which allows compatible third party thermostats to operate them at full efficiency. Google "Viessmann OpenTherm" for a clear explanation. The Boiler Exchange's standard EPH thermostat does the job - it can work using OpenTherm if it's wired to do so, and if the boiler is set up accordingly (ask your installer to do this - it's not possible to change it yourself afterwards). The EPH is a decent thermostat and timer, which can efficiently modulate your boiler output. But it isn't the best looking, and it doesn't have an app or wifi control. So you may want to consider a fancier smart thermostat. Hive are good, but don't do OpenTherm. More suitable are the Honeywell T6R or Google Nest, which do. Make sure your installer sets up both the boiler and the thermostat on OpenTherm. One snag with OpenTherm: in addition to controlling the heating from the thermostat, it might also disable the hot water controls on the boiler. This isn't ideal because this can in turn disable hot water "eco mode", which is best kept enabled. So you'll need to ask Viessmann tech support (via a form on their website) to re-enable eco mode. They can do this remotely in a few minutes if you connect your boiler to wifi. This prevents an issue where the boiler can get stuck in hot water pre-heat mode, cycling on/off (which is bad), and failing to properly heat your radiators. You can then get the best efficiency and comfort from your new boiler by: 1. setting the max flow temp on your thermostat and/or boiler to 55 or 60 degrees (setting 8 in the parameters menu on the 050 boiler - see p56 of the installation manual) 2. setting max heating output to less than 100% (setting 7 in the parameters menu) - I have mine set at 40%. Unless you have an especially big house, it doesn't need to be at maximum, which just reduces efficiency and increases noise. This setting doesn't affect hot water flow rate. 3. setting max speed of heating pump to less than 100% (setting 4 in parameters menu). I have mine set to 65% which makes the boiler whisper quiet - far quieter than when the pump is running at full speed.
Fantastic service and all work carried out to a high standard. Engineer was excellent! Would highly recommend to all 😀
I Totally agree with the previous reviewer......?Please be aware that before the sale there was plenty of communication from this dubious company, however after sales zero assistance. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE 12 MONTHS GUARANTEED WORKMANSHIP!!!!! I have called the salesman "Chris" multiple times as I have had problems with the water pressure the bar reading was 3.2 .Has never replied to my concern..This boiler unfortunately purchased on the 30/01/2023 paid £3350 SO Utterly disgusted I used this company I actually told him I had been ill and was in hospital and just discharged on Friday 12 th Jan 2024. Will be taking this complaint further.
Really nice company from Chris who sold the boiler to Morgan and apprentice who fitted all very personable clean and tidy job
New boiler installed recently from start to finish good experience, both Chris and Morgan the installer very good, Morgan very knowledgeable and tidy, would definitely recommend this Company again. Boiler has a 10 year guarantee, gives you peace of mind for 10 years.
Exemplary service. Boiler installed within 1 week of initial contact. Engineer Morgan was courteous, kept us advised of progress and did an excellent job. Everything left neat and tidy.
I would like to thank Chris,James & Norrie for the excellent tidy job that was carried out at my house. They knew exactly what was required and completed the job with no hesitation. They arrived on time and went above and beyond Highly recommended
Very professional team. Everyone was polite. They worked well together. My kitchen was a tricky job, where they had to remove glass tiles, looking at the kitchen you would never know it had been done. Very happy with the finish.

Dec 09,2024One year on, our VIESSMANN boiler installed by the company in December 2023, has worked well and is much more efficient than the unit it replaced. The first annual service was carried out by Mick, who telephoned in advance, to arrange a suitable appointment. The service was carried out by him with a minimum of inconvenience and boiler downtime, on a chilly late autumn, early winter day!
