Highly organised company with an excellent portal system. Frequent communication and reassurance. Very well priced programmes. Would highly recommend.
I volunteered in Tanzania doing childcare and it was amazing. The company were brilliant and all the staff were so lovely. I recommend everyone does it
I spent 2 weeks in Tanzania doing a medical elective. The whole experience was amazing. So grateful for the team in the UK and Tanzania for making the experience stress-free.
My experience with TMR was amazing! The whole process of booking and organising was simple and efficient, Chris is a very speedy with his emails! Once in Sri Lanka the team were very accommodating. They have a really thorough induction process which involved being taken out to see a waterfall, temple and tour. This allowed us to get to know the other people we arrived with and build confidence with the new culture. The team were very adaptable and acted on feedback given about placement. The team were able to send us to a different hospital to better suit what we needed from our physio placement. Each week activities and trips were organised which was brilliant to build confidence to get out and see Sri Lanka but with the support of the locals and group. TMR is a brilliant company with lots of caring people working in it. I had a fabulous time and would recommend.
I spent 2 weeks at the wildlife friends foundation in Thailand, thanks to the mighty roar! I had an amazing time and met some fun people all while volunteering with elephants which has been on my bucket list forever. It was my first time travelling anywhere alone at age 19 but the mighty roar made the process safe and easy. I could not recommend more!!!
I had the most amazing time in Moshi, I’ve experienced once in life time weekend trips provided by the mighty roar, over all I’ve had such a wonderful time, with brilliant service from the staff, they couldn’t have been more attentive to all of my needs, however I am very concerned of the lack of sleep and food that the workers, drivers, and service team get, as I have seen they work all hours of day and night I have witnessed this while I have been here more times then I would have wanted to, and I hope for the ongoing future that this will change and the mighty roar will observe how blessed they are to have such a lovely bunch of workers, and for the staff to be treated with more kindness and respect.
I spent one month is Sri Lanka for my elective placement and am so glad I did it. It was an amazing experience and the team in Sri Lanka are so lovely and welcoming. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the variety of food but other than that everything was perfect :)
Well organised, kind and warm people around. Family atmosphere with a delicious local cuisine.
So welcoming and friendly, felt right at home straight away. Volunteering was amazing and well organised.
Really enjoyed my time on the travel and volunteer programme. Glad to have done some volunteering, as well as seeing Sri Lanka as a country. I came Sri Lanka by myself, and have made loads of new friends. Would highly recommend!
I traveled to Busua, Ghana as a teacher volunteer with The Mighty Roar. I could not recommend this experience more if you are looking to travel, meet new people and experience a new culture. The local staff have been so incredibly sweet and supportive, have been there for us the entirety of our stay.
Lovely people! Felt absolutely safe and looked after! Had a wonderful experience
I had truly a great experience in Sri Lanka. My accommodation was clean, only 4 of us in a room with a bathroom so no long waiting to use a bathroom. Bed sheets and towels were changed by the staff every weekend and food was good too. I saw a lot of turtles and made many friends. Overall, I recommend volunteering with The Mighty Roar in Sri Lanka!
Amazing company, was very helpful all through out the process, feel in very safe hands, definitely recommend!
The whole experience was fabulous from beginning to end. Super well organised, any doubts are resolved almost immediately and there's always someone to help you with anything you need. It may seem expensive to some but to be honest after the completion of my volunteering it's worth every penny paid. I've already decided to return again next year. Thank you Mighty Roar for the most wonderful experience of my life!!
Lovely local staff, amazing day trips, affordable volunteering experience
Really enjoyed the surveying it was great to get into and found it very interesting, the snorkel survey was the best! However I think there should have been a 3 week option to stay as 2 weeks didn't feel long enough and by the 2nd week we knew what we were doing but had to leave. So if there was a 3 week option that would have been better suited. Also having some better facilities such as a better fan in the room between the 4 of us wasn't great, also having an ac unit that didn't work was very annoying as it could get way too hot in the room.
I have been to Ghana with TMR three times now and have absolutely fallen in love with the village of Busua! Dinah, Emmanuel, Francis and the rest of the local team work so hard to make sure we all have a great time. Dinah in particular is absolutely amazing. She is super friendly and quickly resolves any worries that we might have. The people of Busua are extremely welcoming and treat you like family. I did the teaching program and spent my time teaching at the private school just outside of Busua. The school doesn’t receive funding from the government so they are very grateful for volunteers. Due to a shortage of teachers at the school I was often left in charge of classes which allowed me to get really involved with the program. Thank you for another amazing trip and I’m sure I’ll be back again!
I must admit, I was a little nervous when my 17 y o daughter said she wanted to volunteer in Tanzania. But I needn’t have worried. The team at the Mighty Roar and over in Tanzania were brilliant! Before she left, they answered our endless questions, held helpful zoom calls and set up what’s app groups to meet other volunteers. While she was there, the team took such brilliant care of her - preparing meals, transport, helping with washing and arranging the most brilliant trips and visits post volunteering. She absolutely loved the school and the children also. I cannot recommend it more highly - she very much wants to go back next year which says it all.

Jul 22,2024My time in Tanzania was truly incredible. The team were so supportive, always made sure we were safe and were a big part of the reason why we were always so happy. I loved going to volunteer everyday, the children will always hold a special place in my heart. I will definitely be returning one day to see everyone as I now have a new family in Moshi having met some amazing people. The trips with mighty roar were very good too, always doing something and they were definitely worth the money 😊
