Host family/team were so welcoming and lovely. Lots of activities to do and would 100% recommend Sri Lanka for its variety in weekend trips!

We did the turtle conservation program and it was amazing, we were lucky enough to see turtles coming onto the beach to nest as well as a few hatchlings. All staff members made sure we were safe at all times and were available to help when needed. They provided us with lots of activities each day and ensured we had a great time. Definitely an experience I’ll never forget.

TMR Sri Lanka is such a fantastic experience that i will not be forgetting any time soon! The accommodation and the staff that run it are lovely and everyone is so welcoming. I wish i could stay longer! Volunteering with the Sea Turtle Conservation programme has given me unforgettable memories of such beautiful creatures.

Everyone was super welcoming when we arrived and made an effort to make sure we were enjoying ourselves throughout the week, the room had most of the stuff we needed, the food was ok but quite repetitive but many local spots nearby to eat at and a good range of activities organised throughout the week to experience more of the culture!

I have spent one week doing turtle conservation and one week doing childcare in Sri Lanka. Both of these were incredible experiences and extremely rewarding. I have met such lovley people along the way and have greatly appreciated being able to see such a beautiful country and experience its culture. I will definitely be coming be back! The family I stayed with were absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating, it was so lovely staying with them and a pleasure getting to know them all. They also helped organise activities so that we always had something to do once we had finished volunteering for the day and this also helped everyone get to know each other and meant we were never bored. Both the turtle conservation and childcare programmes are hands on experiences to which you are very involved, so I would definitely recommend them!

The mighty roar are an amazing company that have gone above and beyond for us as volunteers. The hospitality provided by Ayomi Thaksi and all of the other staff members has been outstanding. Everyone is really welcoming and make you feel as though you are part of the family always organising activities and always there whenever you need them. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the mighty roar and hope to be back soon.

I have spent three weeks doing the medical experience, and one week doing childcare in Sri Lanka. This was an incredible experience, I’ve made so many new friends and seen so much of this beautiful country and its culture. I cannot thank the family we’ve stayed with enough and all they have done for us they are doing an incredible job accommodating for us and organising so much for us. There are so many opportunities for extra trips here it is never boring! I will say for the medical experience it is all observational so there was not much for us to do. The childcare programme was great and I’ve gotten to do so much!

Volunteering for Wildlife Sense is a wonderfully unique experience. The 4 weeks I've spent here has been a fantastic balance of meaningful work, exploration and relaxation. In between the shifts I have hiked beautiful mountains, explored towns and seen turquoise coves with likeminded people. The variety of work provided meant you are always kept on your toes, and no 2 days are the same which is fantastic for people like me who get easily bored. It is incredibly heartening to see a successful and flourishing project like Wildlife Sense when there is so much negativity around the conservation world. The staff also were friendly and accommodating who care deeply about the work they do.

I had the most amazing time volunteering in Amakhala with TMR! Everything was really well organised. The local team, Nicky and Justin are both incredible and so much fun! Every day was so different from bushpacking and filling in roads to predator monitoring to amazing excursions! I was very sad to leave. Met lots of lovely volunteers along the way as well!

This was something that was completely new to new to me so I was slightly skeptical at first. However, it was one of the best experiences of my life - meeting loads of new people and trying something new.

Such an amazing place and such a lovely team. The volunteering was so fulfilling - I went to Busua Methodist School and Future Leaders too and both were great for different reasons. The whole The Mighty Roar team in Busua were very friendly and welcoming especially Dinah, Emmanuel, Francis, Micheal and Abigail. Thank you so much!

I stayed in Sri Lanka with TMR for 2 weeks and it was incredible. I got a chance to help the turtles, look after the dogs and clean the beach. Truly felt like I had a positive impact on the community and I was able to help. The team were amazing, had such fun with Charith, Karu, Ayomi and the whole team. One of the highlights were the weekend trips with the cultural triangle and hill country. If anyone is staying I highly recommend the weekend trips. Overall 10/10 experience and I am looking forward to going to another trip to Ghana with TMR.

I went to Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls) for two weeks on the conservation program. It was hands down the best travel experience I have had and I would recommend the trip to anyone with a love of the outside and animals. The team in Zimbabwe were so welcoming, knowledgeable and taught me so much in my two weeks. I will definitely be going back.

I went to Sri Lanka to volunteer for Childcare and Teaching for a week with a group of friends from the 08/06 to the 15/06. It was an unbelievable and memorable experience. We had the opportunity to teach in two kindergartens and two primary schools. The staff is really friendly and attentive to our needs. The camp is very clean and confortable. They brought us as well to very nice locations for sightseeing and other. Overall a very unique experience :)

Had the best time with TMR doing the Sri Lanka turtle project!! The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Ayomi and her family were great hosts and made me feel really welcome. There were activities arranged throughout the week to show parts of the town and the surrounding area. The turtle project was so much fun and I got to see baby turtles hatch and release them!! I felt really safe in the accommodation and any issues that we had were resolved very quickly. I have met some of the best of friends on this experience and would recommend to all that are considering participating!!! Thank you again to Ayomi and her family as they really made my experience what it was.
