Went into the post Christmas clearance sale recently at Darlington. With the cost of living crisis hitting so many people i managed to buy shoes, jumpers, coats etc for myself and members of my family, at a fraction of the pre sale price. I find that the staff are always helpful and polite too.
I bought several items from the Torquay store in March 2024, totalling 157.95. Among them was a pair of Penguin shoes, the heel of which has just become detached. As it was well within a year, I sought redress from the shop. I didn't have the receipt but did have the bank statement details, so tracking down the transaction would have been straightforward. I pointed out that I didn't want a refund or any form of compensation, merely a repair to shoes less than a year old that I'd worn probably fewer than 20 times. (Even the assistant said they looked like new.) The store manager stonewalled and said there was nothing to be done. I thought consumer law stated that goods had to be of "satisfactory quality" and that a year was a standard in terms of guarantee. Apparently not. The only "helpful" suggestion was for me to superglue the heel back on!!! I took it to a more senior level in the company structure and met with equally disdainful treatment. I think it's safe to say that when it comes to customer service , we're not talking John Lewis. UPDATE: ADDED FOLLOWING TKM'S RESPONSE. I shan't be accepting this invitation, for the simple reason that I've already gone down this rabbit hole - the "more senior level" mentioned previously is the very same email address that I'm now being asked to use to contact the company again. As I've already described the issue to someone on the end of this email address and been given short shrift... ("As much as we value your custom, I must inform you that we cannot override the store's decision regarding the situation")..... I can only conclude that this "concerned" plea is just a PR exercise, issued to suggest to Trustpilot readers that they take the matter seriously and want to rectify the problem. The fact is that that the store manager said I'd get nowhere by escalating the dispute - and he was absolutely right!
Employee rude to customers and used violent language. Very dissapointed
i was trying on some shoes on the try on area and walking in them to see if they fit me and then this worker gave me a dirty look and came up to me saying if i damage them i have to pay for them. the quality of these employees are poor and they are just rude. never buying from this place again!! then when we were putting them away and sitting down to put our shoes back on, he came back and said this isn’t a hangout place and genuinely looked extremely rude. just because we aren’t as old as some people buying there does not mean workers should target us. this genuinely needs to stop.
Got through spoke to a very pleasant and knowlegable Lauren. She told me what she was going to do regarding the parcel which had been delivered to the wrong address. Very professional.
Had a terrible experience with a member of staff in Livingston West Lothian store. She was SO rude and obnoxious. She made me wait 15 mins until she eventually managed to sign in to the click and collect machine. She was not happy in having to do this. When she retrieved my first parcel she threw it at me and told me both orders must be in one bag as she can’t find anymore. I advised it wouldn’t be likely as they are separate order numbers and bought on different weeks. She started to scream at me, in which another customer told her to “stop!” I asked for a manager and she proceeded to scream “it Doesn’t matter as it was her last day working there” ( I’m sure she said her name was Sandra) I spoke to guy that dealt with click & collect ( Malcolm), he had to walk away from the service desk as this woman continued to berate and verbally abuse me. She even wrote my name down and threatened me. ( no idea what she will be doing with my information ) It was really surreal and bizzare. The guy told me just to complain to head office as he couldn’t speak over her as she just got louder and LOUDER and he was clearly flustered by this woman too. I would have thought he would have sent her away but she was like a Rottweiler that kept coming at us. I have never ever Been treated like this in my life never mind trying to shop. It’s clear she’s had issues and this is why her employment was being terminated. She just thought she would have one more target before she left. It was a disgusting behaviour from an elderly woman as she looked to be in her 60’s , she should know better how to treat people. It’s shocking behaviour! How she was ever employed in the first place is a miracle. Clearly NOT a people person. I reached out to Tk maxx as requested by harmony and they’ve told me, they will pass it on. Hmm.. it’s a typical standard response. So I’m not surprised the staff are the way they are. They can say or do what ever they want without any comeback.
Rubbish you get nothing, dont waste your time
Purchased a candle and it wasn’t a cheap one, I threw receipt as I was keeping it. The candle won’t light and the store refused to exchange. I have had no joy from customer services I thought TK Maxx was better than this very disappointed
Instead of refunding me £70 when I returned an item, they charged me, so I am £150 down with no products. Customer service say I need to tell them a time Monday- Thursday between 9-5 to call me to get my refund which is not possible. A mistake on their part yet so restrictive on how to resolve it. Not OK.
Manager at the Ilford branch certainly requires further training.
Visited TKMAXX Bentley Bridge Wolverhampton store today with my wife and was very happy with the customer service at the till- very professional and simply a very nice guy(trans: 2742,9270).
Purchased some really good quality ‘Made in India’ products recently, including small wooden ‘tables’ that I use to lift some household plants (I have many!) off the floor. They are very well made and look great. Also, a great place to shop for mens socks, t-shirts and jumpers etc. Overall, I am pleased with all my purchases, including the prices.
Preston Fishergate is my local literally pass through daily got to admit Karen the manager is an absolute gem . Helpful polite a pleasure to cross paths with . Always see her working so hard and her response to staff is so encouraging and positive .
I got curious about a candle jar that looked like rocksalt so i licked it and now im continuously coughing to the point i throw up, im way too cold and my face is boiling hot i feel like my bones are going stiff, dont lick candles in tk maxx and maybe it wouldnt have happened if they put a sign to not lick it.....
WARNING:DO NOT buy jewellery online from TK maxx. I have been a regular customer of TK maxx for years but recently had a really bad experience after purchasing a diamond bracelet online from them. When the item arrived I opened it to find an empty box, the outside packaging was completely in tact so this had to have been empty when it left the warehouse. After many phone calls and promises of ‘looking into it’ I received an email stating that they had investigated and the item was picked and packed their end so nothing they could do. I am absolutely disgusted and devastated that I have lost my money. I will NEVER buy anything else from them and I will continue to warn everyone on social media and review sites that A: there is no customer safeguarding when buying online from them B: they have a thief in their warehouse and don’t seem particularly bothered about it C: they clearly DO NOT quality check the item before sending it out (as in opening the box to check it’s there) D: they do not care about customers I didn’t even require a refund, I just wanted a replacement bracelet I just cannot believe that I have lost £200 just like that when buying online from a company so well known. Really really disgusting customer service
I recently purchased a £200 bracelet from TK Maxx UK for my wife. When it arrived, we unwrapped the packaging, opened the box, and—to our surprise—the bracelet was missing! We immediately contacted TK Maxx, and they opened an incident report. Four days later, we received an email stating that their warehouse had picked, packaged, and dispatched the item correctly, implying there was nothing more they could do and suggesting we were attempting to defraud them—quite ironic, considering I work for the Police. Customer service directed me to contact them regarding my original post but proved to be completely unhelpful and refused to escalate my complaint. After this experience, we will no longer shop with TK Maxx. I have since filed a complaint with my credit card company and emailed the CEO of TK Maxx Europe. Hello Harmony how can specifically speak with please?
Had an allergic reaction to an omorovicza mask and I sent them photos and they would not offer a refund. I had used the product once
My parcel had been stolen following Royal Mail leaving it outside. I spoke with Ella from the customer service team who arranged a refund to be sent, Ella sorted this within an hour of me contacting her and was extremely apologetic and helpful.
Lined up for return and click and collect. The person working at the cashier was extremely rude. She was visibly impatient when doing the return, then just walked away to another counter to serve another customer, without speaking to me. I had to grab another staff to complete the click and collect. This is the first time I had such terrible experience at TK Maxx. Frankly, that's quite disgusting. It's your job to do return. What's wrong with you?
